"Mr. Lewis, please believe me! I didn't mean to hurt anyone!" Brianna sobbed, tears cascading down her face.

Vincent ignored her, his eyes locked on Tiffany's pale face.

"Alex, you know the procedure," he said curtly.

"Of course, Mr. Lewis," Alex replied. Turning to Brianna, he added, "Ms. Upshaw, please follow us."

William's heart sank. They were handling this officially, with no room for excuses.

But before he could intervene, Brianna shrieked, "Mr. Lewis, you can't arrest me! I was following orders from Ms. Harrison! If I get arrested, she will too!"

She whipped out her phone, displaying text messages. "See? These are from Ms. Harrison. I did everything I could to please her! It wasn't my idea!"

Alex took the phone, confirming Kelly's number. The exchange was short, but damning.

Brianna wrote, "Ms. Harrison, Tiffany and I are in the same dorm. If you need anything at all, just let me know, and I'll make sure it happens!"

Kelly responded, "Really? Then, make her disappear."

This brief exchange strongly suggests Kelly's involvement in the matter.

Although it was just a brief conversion, it at least proved that Kelly was inextricably linked to the whole affair.

"Mr. Lewis..." Alex handed Vincent the phone.

Tiffany was still lying in bed and couldn't see the text. However, the way Vincent's brow furrowed spoke volumes.

Not wanting to cause trouble in his relationship, especially since he'd always been kind to her, she said, "Mr. Lewis, please... let's just leave it. I... I don't want to pursue it." "Not pursue it? They almost killed you!" Vincent's serious gaze met hers.

Tiffany shook her head. "It's alright. Let's just end it here."

Brianna's eyes flashed with smugness. She'd gambled that dragging Kelly into this would ensure Vincent's protection.

"But what if I insist?" Vincent asked slowly.

Tiffany was taken aback. She'd expected Kelly's name would lead Vincent to drop the matter, rather than being the reason for Vincent's resolve.

Vincent continued, "We're all adults and responsible for our own actions. Being considerate toward me

reason to let this go. How can we tolerate this?"

He turned to Alex. "Handle it by the book."

"Alright." Alex's admiration for Vincent grew. Brianna had miscalculated badly when she thought that this was about personal favors.

Vincent was all about fairness, even if it meant going against Kelly or himself.

As the police led Brianna away, Alex and William departed, leaving Tiffany and Vincent alone in the dorm.

Tiffany silently looked at Vincent with mixed emotions in her eyes.

Vincent noticed her stare and chuckled. "What? You're not satisfied with how I handled it?"

Tiffany shook her head. "You didn't have to go so far for me."

"Which part was too far?"

Tiffany hesitated, then blurted out, "Putting justice before... family."

Vincent raised an eyebrow after a thoughtful pause. "Kelly and I aren't that close. Don't overthink it. In this case, justice simply wins."

In his mind, Kelly barely qualified as family.

Tiffany's confusion deepened as she asked, "But... I thought you two were getting married?"

Vincent let out a surprised laugh. "Is that what she told you?"

Tiffany didn't dare answer rashly. She was afraid of damaging his relationship with Kelly, so she opted for silence.

Vincent sighed. "Look, we're all adults. Everyone must face the consequences of their mistakes, myself included."

As for Kelly, he was simply rectifying a past error. He hadn't given it much further thought.
