Tiffany didn't know that Vincent was in a rush.

When he had received the message, he had been in the middle of shaving, but his face had lit up at once when he had seen her message.

It was early in the morning, and he knew that she must be standing out in the wind. He felt that it would be too slow to text her, so he had called instead.

When he found out that she was downstairs, he was ready to rush down and get her.

Vincent was usually a very meticulous person, even when shaving. However, this time, he finished shaving in a rush and washed it quickly with water. He looked in the mirror at the left and right side of his face, then left the bathroom.

He had stayed over at the hospital to take care of Anna last night. Kelly hadn't arrived yet, but Anna was already awake. She was sitting up in bed, leaning back and watching the news with her glasses on.

In the corner of her eye, she saw a shadowy figure rush out of the bathroom. Before she could focus, the figure had already reached the door of the hospital room.

"Grandma, I'm going out for a bit." The figure shot out.

Before Anna could answer, the shadowy figure shot back in and grabbed his jacket. He grinned at her before rushing out again.

Anna stared at the ceiling in resignation.

What had happened? Why was her calm, reliable grandson so excited all of a sudden?

Tiffany had been waiting downstairs for about three minutes when she saw Vincent.

"Mr. Lewis." She ran over to him, and when she saw him, her heart skipped a beat. The tips of her ears burned.

"You came so early." Vincent looked gently at her. "How many buses do you have to take to get here from your college?"

"Three. But there aren't many people in the morning, and there isn't much traffic, so it wasn't any trouble at all."

Vincent glanced at the jacket she was wearing. "Are you cold?"

Tiffany shook her head. She glanced

at the black jacket that he was holding and felt that it was rather

odd. He had just come from upstairs, so he probably wasn't cold, but he was holding a jacket.

Perhaps... he had it just in case?

After all, Vincent was the boss, and it wasn't strange that he would be more considerate than the average person.

"Let's go in. The wind is pretty strong out here." Vincent pinched the jacket he was holding. He had no use for it now, and he wished he could just toss it away. "Okay." Tiffany followed him into the elevator.

The hospital was bustling even in the mornings, and the elevators were packed with people.

The elevator was still fairly empty when Tiffany and Vincent got in at the first floor, but as it progressed upward, it kept pausing. By the time they got to the tenth floor, she and Vincent had been squeezed into a corner.

More people were coming in, and the crowd began jostling once more. Tiffany was petite to begin with, and she had gone red in the face from being squashed.

Vincent saw her and moved aside slightly so that he could form a protective shield around her with his arms.

"Please squeeze in a little more." There was a voice from behind them, and the crowd began moving once more. Vincent felt someone pushing him hard, and he lunged forward involuntarily. He found himself bumping into Tiffany.

As they were face-to-face with each other, it looked like the two of them were in an embrace.

Vincent lowered his head to look at her. "Are you alright?"

His warm breath tickled the top of

her head. Tiffany looked up instinctively and felt like she was falling right into those dark eyes. Her

heart began beating wildly, and she shook her head. "I'm... I'm fine..."

QUMS

She lowered her head, not daring to look at Vincent anymore. However, she could still feel that intense gaze boring into the top of her head, as if his eyes were still fixed on her face.
