Unveiling the True Heiress Chapter 18

Chapter 18 A Prodigy

Mr. Hartford hesitated for a moment betone taking the papers from her.

Meredith had finished the math and English papers in the time allotted for one exam. She was now working on the comprehensive exam and had already completed a quarter of it!

Is this something humanly possible? Did she just randomly fill in the answers?!

He had seen many students like her who relied on their connections to get into the school. They would pretend to complete the exam and enter Class Eleven after being accepted. With these thoughts in mind, he looked disdainfully at the first multiple choice question on the math paper.

Although he only taught physical education, he remembered some high school math.

The answer was option C. Meredith was right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day!

The answer to the second question was option A. Meredith was right again! Is she really so lucky?

The third question… Meredith had also chosen the correct answer!

He was shocked as he looked through her answers. She had answered a third of the multiple–choice questions correctly, but he couldn’t be sure about the other questions at the back.

“Wait for me here,” he said. Holding the exam paper, he turned to look for the math teacher to grade it.

The morning classes had ended, and teachers and students were gradually heading to lunch. When Mr. Hartford arrived at the junior teachers office, the math teacher for junior Class One was locking the office door.

“Ms. Hanke. I was just looking for you. Sorry to keep you from lunch, but could you help me take a look at this entrance exam paper?” Mr. Hartford said, handing her Meredith’s paper.

Corina Hanke, the math teacher, graduated from Harvard University and taught at Quantum for the past ten years. She was also publicly known as a workaholic. When she heard what Mr. Hartford said, she immediately felt excited and opened the door she was about to lock.

“Sure. I heard that this semester’s entrance exam questions are more difficult than before. The principal’s goal is to raise Quantum Academy’s admission threshold.

She went to her desk, pushed her thick glasses up, and began grading the paper.

Mr. Hartford’s face flushed as she ticked Meredith’s correct answers with her red pen. His cheeks burned, and it felt like he had been slapped.

“The way she solved this last question is quite original. It’s similar to Seth’s previous approach. She’s quite impressive. Corina praised Meredith when she was done.

“Which school did Ms. Reign previously attend? Is she still here! I’d like to meet her She looked at the name on the paper and turned to Mr. Hartford before realizing he had a slightly strange expression “What’s wrong, Mr. Hartford! You don’t look well.”

“No, I’m fine. So how many marks did she get on this test?” Mr. Hartford gulped in disbelief

Even Seth Creed can’t do it, but she did it effortlessly! And I was so nasty to her just now!

“One hundred. Full marks!” Corina wrote the score on the paper, pleased.

Mr. Hartford’s legs suddenly went weak. “Alright, I see. This student is still taking the exam. I have to go back and check on her.”

Corina’s eyes sparkled. “She’s still here? Come on, let’s go. I want to meet her, too.”

When they returned to the room, there was no sign of Meredith. A pen was left on the desk, with her completed papers under it.

Corina carefully picked up one of the papers and glanced at it. Meredith’s handwriting was neat and elegant, and her answers to the questions were innovative. “Quick, send the papers to the respective teachers to be marked, I feel this student will become Quantum Academy’s next prodigy.

That’s right. Meredith is an academic prodigy, not just a top student.

When Meredith returned to Kane Residence, she saw Tom sitting in the living room with a dark expression. Beulah was kneeling on the carpet guiltily while Myra stood at the side. Myra appeared sad. but she was secretly enjoying the spectacle.

The carpet had broken glass shards, and the atmosphere was clearly tense.

“How do you have the nerve to return?! How dare you skip the exam?! Get down on your knees!” When Tom saw Meredith, his temper flared again. He grabbed an ashtray from the coffee table and threw it at

her.
