Warrior Princess
Chapter 32

Samanthas POV

“How did they get so close to our lands without any of the scouts or trackers picking it up?” I said confused.

“I don’t know my queen, but we need to get back to the pack grounds now. I have linked the King to alert him of Bear shifters near. I don’t know if they know we are here or if they are just scouting the land as spies, but I don’t want to risk it.”

I nod my head in agreement. I didn’t even think about them scouting the lands for the war. But it is concerning that no one picked up on their scent. How close are they? How many are there? Are they friendly or Foe? We know that we have some allied bear shifters coming, but I won’t know for sure if they’re on our side or not unless I see them, look in their eyes, and listen to their heart rates and breaths. I don’t want to stick around to replace out.

“Make sure everyone that attended the mall today is on their way to the pack house. They should each have one personal guard with them. Make sure they are alerted as well.” I ordered the guards, and they bowed their heads at me.

“I want to be notified the second they get back to pack grounds.” I say as we get rear ended. It was so hard that I flew forward and smacked my head on the driver’s seat. We are in one of the suburban and the Guards are up front with me, my mom, Rosaline, and Gemma in the back.

“Everyone alright?” I ask. Before they can respond, we are hit again. I look behind us and see three black out BMWs trailing us.

“GET US OUT OF HERE NOW!” I command using my full Luna and Alpha Aura. They show their necks in submission but slam the gas.

“KASEN!” I scream in the link.

“KASEN were being attacked!” I scream again.

“Where are you now, love?” he says. You can hear the worry in his voice.

“We are in the car on the way back. About 20 mins away. They keep hitting the car! Kasen was trying to get home, but if they keep hitting us the car won’t make it!” I say.

“Gemma, I want you to prepare to fight. Mom, Rosaline, I want you both to run to the Castle grounds. If it comes to a fight. The warriors will stay with us.” Mom started to protest, but I glared at her.

“Don’t make me command it. Please, do this for me. We will be safe, I have already started training Gemma. We have the Warriors. I’ve linked Kasen. We will be okay…”

I don’t get a chance to finish as we are rammed from the side. The Suburban starts to slide and flips. I try to brace myself, but it’s so hard. We roll about four times before the car comes to a stop.

I g***n. I’m in so much pain. My head is killing me. I’m sure I have a concussion. I tried to link Kasen again, but everything is fuzzy. I hope he’s on his way. I assess myself. No broken bones, but that’s going to bruise for a while.

“Is everyone alright?”

Mom has a broken arm, Rosaline has cuts from the glass shattering, Gemma is okay just banged up, the warriors are safe as well thanks to the air bags. I look out the window and see the BMWs are surrounding us. Alright, it’s a fight they want it’s a fight they’ll get.

“Sam Human or Wolf form?” Gemma asked. Truthfully, I don’t know.

“If they stay human then we will. If they shift then we will. I want to remain inconspicuous. We are still not on pack grounds yet. Humans can see. Now if you need to shift for any reason, you do so. Mom, Rosaline shifting will help heal your wounds. Your broken arm will hurt like a b***h, but you guys need to make a run for it. We will hold them off as long as we can! GO NOW!” I commanded and they wasted no time. Before I know it cream and Sable colored wolf are bolting towards the pack.

“Everyone with me?” I say, and the warriors nod.

“Everyone with me?” I say, and the warriors nod.

“My queen, we would like to take the front. We are here to protect you. We want to serve our Royal Family.” one of the guards say. I place my hands on his shoulder and nod.

“I am thankful for both of you. I have linked Kasen he is coming with backup.” He nods and they both bow.

We get out of the car and glare at the tinted windows of the attackers. A few doors open up and a few men step out. They are tall. Roughly 6 feet or more. Clearly, they aren’t on our side.

“What do you want?” I ask. They don’t answer, just glare at me with hatred and contempt.

“This is your one and only warning. Walk away now. We don’t want a fight, but we will.”

One of them laughs. “The queen has spunk. But we don’t take orders from you mutt.”

I growl, and so do the guards. I take a look around. The road is deserted, if this leads to an all-out brawl at least there’s no eyes around right now.

“So, you know who I am. Who sent you? What is it you want?” I ask trying to diffuse the situation as best as I can. My head is throbbing and it’s making focusing worse.

“Of course, we know who you are. But we don’t care. We have orders to bring you with us, dead or alive.” Well, that’s just peachy.

They start to move forward. Trying to trap us in against the battered SUV. The guards give out threatening growls. One of the bears lunges for the guards and the fight begins.

There are roughly 7 Bear shifters here. All seem to be warriors of some kind. I don’t like these odds. The warriors take on 2 bears each. Gemma takes one and I have two approaching me. I’m hoping they don’t know I’m trained. I’m hoping to use that to my advantage.

I watch their steps, their faces, their movements. They get close enough and one throws a punch and I block it and side step. The other reaches to grab me. I duck down and punch him in the gut. He’s knocked off balance and I take that as the opportunity to roundhouse kick him in the head. He goes flying back. The other tackle me and punches me in the ribs. I can feel each blow causing serious damage. If he keeps up the blows im sure a rib with the break.

I bring my knee up and drive it hard into his package. He rolls off of me and grunts in pain. I stand up and the other one comes up and wraps his arms around my neck. I feel him squeezing me so I lean back and throw my entire body weight forward taking him with me. Flipping so I have him in a submission hold. He can either pass out from loss of oxygen or I can break his f*g neck.

My thighs wrapped around his neck and I squeeze tightly. He’s thrashing around and the other one comes up to me and punches me in the jaw. I don’t loosen my hold though. Finally, his body goes slack from loss of oxygen.

One less to worry about. Me and the other shifter circle each other. He’s waddling like he’s got a stick up his a*s. Serves him right. We go punch for punch, kick for kick. I manage to steal glances to see Gemma holding her own. The warriors are down to 2 bear shifters left to fight.

“Come on b***h. Let’s just get this over with.”

These guys are strong. Well trained. Not as strong as Theo when I fought him but, this is a good gauge of how well their fighters are trained. If we make it out of this we will use this.

He charges at me and I spin out of the way. He grabs me by my hair and throws me across the road. My back lands on a tree stump and I’m sure I have a broken rib now. I shake the stars and cloudiness from my eyes to see him pointing a gun at me. I can’t move. Everything hurts. I struggle to get to my feet and fight. I finally get to my hands and knees and he laughs.

“Well, isn’t this just a sight?” His voice sounds so evil and dark.

Before I can stand up fully I hear the gun go off, I squeeze my eyes shut, and a loud whimper. I feel no pain though. I open them and see one of the warriors had shifted and jumped in front of me to take the bullet. B***d is pouring from the wound in his side. I crawl to him and grab onto his fur. I stand over him protectively as the bear aims his gun again.

“Stupid mutt!” he spits at the guard. I rub his fur and look down at him. He’s whimpering and trying to move to lick the wound. Before the Bear can fire though, he is taken down by a large ball of black fur.

“KASEN!” I scream!

My mom, Rosaline, Andrew, my dad, Jake, Josh, and Marcus have arrived with about 15 extra warriors. Even Alpha Aaron and Carson came! The warrior who saved me stopped trying to move. I bring my attention back to him.

“You saved me. Why did you jump infront of the gun like that!” he just whimpers and licks my hand.

“I NEED A MEDIC NOW!” I scream hysterically. My mom and Rosaline run to me.

“He just jumped in front of the bullet. Please, we need to help him! He saved me!” I keep my fingers wrapped in this brown wolf’s fur. He sacrificed himself to protect me. He needs to live. This isn’t fair!

I feel wetness on my cheeks and arms wrapped around my waist. Someone tries to pull me away but I refuse to let go.

“NO, WE HAVE TO HELP HIM. I CANT LEAVE HIM!”

They pry the wolf out of my arms and pull me away. I take in the scent to realize it’s Jake. He’s holding me tight and rubbing his hand over my head and down my back.

“Shhh, it’s okay. They have to work on him. They couldn’t do that with you going all protective alpha queen on them” he cups my cheeks and uses his thumbs to wipe away my tears.

“You fought well.” He tells me.

“Wait…WHERES GEMMA” I scream. Why can’t I stop screaming?

“Shhhh, she’s just with the medics. They wanted to assess her injuries. If it wasn’t for you sending mom and Rosaline away, and your thinking quickly to link Kasen we wouldn’t have gotten here in time.” I can’t feel my body shaking from the adrenaline wearing off.

“Sam, you okay? You look pale.” Jake says. My legs feel shaky and I feel lightheaded.

“SAM!” I hear my mate yell and then feel the all too familiar sparks surrounding me. My vision goes blurry, but I grasp onto him.

“Kasen, oh my god.” I cry out.

“It’s okay love, you’re okay. We’re all okay.” He tells me and wraps me in his arms.

“I tried to stop them. I tried to talk them out of it. They said they had orders to take me dead or alive.” I felt him stiffen and growl.

“That’s not going to happen.” He says and k****s my forehead.

“The warrior. He took that bullet for me. We have to save him, baby. He sacrificed himself for me. Please!” he whispers sweet nothings in my ear and promises to do what we can. I nod and sob into his chest. I am strong but this was so much.

My legs finally give out and I start to collapse. But I don’t hit the ground. Kasen catches me and holds me close to his chest.

I finally passed out. Whether from sheer exhaustion, or the hit on my head, or what. But all I know is I am safe now.
