Chapter 29

Aria chatted happily with Gina, hoping to become closer friends. “Gina, are you participating in next year’s national computer science competition?”

“No,” Gina replied. Giria was the judge. It would be unfair.

However, Gina remembered the third place in the jewelry design competition was named Aria Torres. “Did you participate in this year’s jewelry design competition?”

“Yeah, I did.” Aria nodded, smiling shyly. “But my family checked. I only got third place. I still have to work harder.” Aria Jooked disappointed.

“Is it not up to your expectations?” Gina asked.

Aria shook her head. “I’m happy with it. I hope to join Quaria after graduation. But even first–place winners in the design competition could be rejected. I’m only third, so I have even less hope.”

“Don’t be discouraged. Give it a try, Gina consoled. She had seen Aria’s work and felt Aria had talent.

Aria bit her lip. She felt more confident now. “I’ll definitely try.”

Suddenly, a pen was thrown toward Gina. Gina dodged it and looked at the short–haired girl who threw it. A curly–haired girl was standing beside her.

The curly–haired girl was frightened, tugging on the other’s arm. “Let’s go.

The short–haired girl flung her aside. “I’m not scared of her,”

Gina’s gaze went cold. She walked to them. “Explain.”

Aria was furious. “Why did you throw the pen?”

The short–haired girl was indignant. “Why?

Is that wrong!

She bullied her roommate, causing her to be expelled. I’m teaching her a lesson.

“What nonsense is that?” Aria didn’t believe it.

It’s not. You got Lily expelled. You hooked up with the higher–ups in school and abused your power. Shameless bitch,” the short–haired girl accused.

Gina remembered Jack gave Lily probation, not expulsion. “She was expelled?” Gina was puzzled.

The short–haired girl thought Gina was feigning innocence. “Stop pretending. Didn’t you get your sugar daddy to do it?”

Gina’s face turned to ice. “If you don’t shut up, I’ll rip out your tongue.”

Startled, the short–haired girl fell silent momentarily.

The curly–haired girl’s phone rang. She answered, “What?” She hung up quickly and grabbed the short–haired girl’s hand. “Lily wants to commit suicide.”

The short–haired girl was stunned. “Where’s she?”

The curly haired girl replied, “At the school library.”

Before leaving, the shorthaired girl glared at Gina. “If something happens to Lily, I won’t let you off.”

Gina told Aria. T’m going to check it out.”

Aria responded, “I’ll go with you.”

The library was located at the center of the campus. When Lily appeared on the edge of the roof, a crowd gathered.

Dear God. Don’t do anything foolish, someone shouted.

“I heard she was bullied by her roommate and expelled. She was also from a small town. She’s desperate now,” another explained.

Who is her roommate? Who’s so malicious?” somebody asked.

“Gina Miller,” another voice said.

Didn’t she try to steal her sister’s fiancé?” someone questioned.

Somebody confirmed, “That’s her

Another chimed in, “Didn’t someone post how promiscuous she is on the campus network? It got deleted within a day, with

apology. No wonder. She had the school leaders on her side.

A voice suggested, “It’s disgusting. Let’s complain to the Department of Education. It’s a disgrace to have such corrupted student and leaders.

Gina and Aria were greeted with a buzz of criticism.

Aria was furious. These aren’t true. You can’t spread rumors.”

Everyone looked at Aria and recognized Gina beside her. The crowd turned turbulent.

Someone shouted, “Gina’s here.”

Another added, “Apologize to Lily. She’s going to jump.”

Gina looked at the neatly laid–out life–saving cushion and noted that the library only had six floors. The highest laboratory building on campus had fifteen floors. Lily chose the shortest one. This was staged. Gina said expressionlessly, “She should apologize to me.”

Cina had discovered Lily had contacted Mason, instructing him to post false information online. She had only dealt with Mason and was going to deal with Lily.

Gina hadn’t considered Mason’s connection to Olivia. She also didn’t expect Lily to stage such a scene.

Gina’s words caused the crowd to erupt into fury.

Listen to her. How cold–blooded, someone criticized.

Another shouted, “Who does she think she is?”

A third chimed in, “After all, she has a balding fat school leader to back her up.”

Aria couldn’t bear the insults. She looked at Gina concernedly, noticing that she was calm and unaffected. How strong Gina was. Aria felt sorry for Gina. Gina had to have been through much to have developed such resilience.

While the crowd continued to berate Gina, Lily jumped from the top of the building.

The crowd erupti

in screams.

Gina calmly watched as Lily landed safely on the life–saving cushion.
