“Ew! Sparkle! why did you lick my cheek? Did you even brush your teeth this morning?” Iris asked us, and a whimper left my mouth.

“Stupid human! Didn't I tell you to use that blue thing to wash your mouth? Now, look what you have done! Mate thinks we smell horrible!” Sean scolded me, and I can feel the anger simmering within him.

“I did brush my teeth.” I defended myself, but he huffed.

Wow! Isn't it great to have a lovesick wolf!

“I was just joking, Sparkle. You smell great, my little cupcake.” she cooed, pulling our cheeks a bit too hard for our liking, but we didn't mind since she is our mate and only she has the right to pull our cheeks. But Sean let out a playful growl at her for calling us little.

“We are not little, darling.” I thought, and Sean agreed with me too, and I didn't know he would do that because the next thing he did was, he turned around and showed her how big we are.

“You perverted, senseless wolf!” I yelled at him in my head.

“Mate things that we are little, so we should show her how big we are.” Sean reasoned, and I shook my head.

Sometimes I wonder how he became an alpha wolf.

When we turned back around, I saw that Iris was as red as a tomato, and she had goosebumps all over her.

“Seriously, Sparkle! Do you have to prove that point?” Iris scolded, and Sean nodded his head before lying down on Iris’s lap. She let out an exasperated sigh before her hand started rubbing our head, and Sean let out a delighted purr.

“You like that, don't you?” she asked us, and we just snuggled closer to our mate.

“Can we stay like this forever?” Sean asked me.

“I guess we can, if we tell her that we love her,” I said, and Sean stayed quiet again. Iris and I stayed under that tree for almost three hours just hearing the sound of wind and the sound of animals around us, but I guess fate doesn't like the scenario that we are in right now because just then, I heard heavy footsteps making their way towards us.

“Iris! Iris! Where are you?” that voice sounds like Walter?

“Of course, it's that idiot. Who else would have a nasal voice?” Sean said, irritation dripping from his voice, and I inwardly rolled my eyes at him before we got up from Iris’s lap.

“Hey, what happened, Sparkle?” Iris asked, sounding worried, but Sean reassured her by licking her cheeks once before we moved towards the dense part of the forest while keeping an eye on our mate.

And after five minutes, I saw Walter come into view. The moment he saw Iris stand there, a smile grazed his face, and he moved towards her with a skip.

“Hey, I knew you would be here,” Walter said to a confused-looking Iris.

“Why were you looking for me?” Iris asked him, and I perked my ears, listening more into their conversation.

“Your sister called me, she asked if I was with you since you didn't get back home,” Walter explained, and that is when I checked the time on my watch, and a gasp left my mouth. Oh my God! I have been here for more than four hours now.

“I didn't even notice how the time flew by,” I exclaimed, and I quickly picked up my handbag from the ground and dusted my clothes.

“I know that feeling too when you are lost in your thoughts, it's hard to concentrate on time,” Walter said, and for each word he said, he advanced a step towards me, and before I could comprehend what is happening, Walter stood an inch away from me.

“But, it's alright Iris, sometimes even I get lost in my thoughts,” hot breath fanning my lips, and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, and before I had the time to know what was going to happen, Walter connected his lips with mine, and he pulled me flush against his body with his hands firmly on my waist.

It took a few seconds for my brain to catch up with what was happening, and before I could push him away from me, Walter removed his lips from mine and smirked.

The smile on Walter’s face when he saw Iris standing there told me that he was up to something.

“But, it's alright Iris, sometimes even I get lost in my thoughts,” he said, and his voice sounded husky, which made Sean growl, and he tried to move towards our beta, but I made him stop.

“He is talking to our mate!” Sean yelled at me.

“Yeah, I can see that, but I think you should keep calm, and let's see what is going to happen,” I said, Sean didn't like my idea at all, but he didn't object, and we just stared at the two of them again.

Walter was way too close to Iris, and we didn't like it at all, but at the same time, I knew that if I intervene right now, a lot of questions will arise, and I am not ready to answer any of them. So I just stayed back and looked at their conversation in longing.

While Walter was too close to Iris for my liking, I felt like someone else was trying to connect with me through the mind link, and with an exhausted sigh, I let the person through while keeping an eye in my mate’s direction.

“Alpha, Beta Walter isn't in the packhouse, and the red moon pack’s alpha is here to meet you,” Mike said.

“I will be back in the packhouse in ten minutes. Till then keep the alpha occupied.” I replied and closed my mind link. And when I looked back at my mate, the only thing that I saw was red. And the only thought that was going around in my head was to kill Walter right now!

He just kissed my mate, and he dared to smile at her like that.

“That was the best kiss that I have had in my life,” he said, and that was it, Sean and I were beyond livid, and we were racing towards our beta with full force.
