300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets -
WHY SHOULD WE TRUST YOU
Bella:
Getting on a plane as a minor without a parental permit would have been impossible, but once I showed my ID card, everything went smoothly for me. I was an alpha princess-also known as the most original because of the Rune Pack. The flight took about an hour, and when the plane landed, I boarded a taxi, which took me toward the border. I didn't want to arouse suspicion, so I stopped a part that still had citizens of the Thorne Pack. Then I took a short walk
before changing into a wolf and sprinting to the outskirts of the city.
My heart thumped fast as I got to the foot of the mountain. This was a do-or-die affair, but I had already lost a lot, so it was now or never. Without giving it another thought, I made my way up the trails of the mountain, and in no time, thick trees surrounded me. The mountain engulfed me, and after a while of running, I came to a halt in the middle of nowhere.
It didn't take even a minute for them to surround me. All I could see were flickers of light, and they put a spell on me, causing me to black out. Everything was going according to plan, but I had no clue what was coming next.
The next time I opened my eyes, I saw I was bound in chains, and this time I was in a cage. No-I was in a prison. The iron bars formed the door to the prison. This place stank badly of blood and decomposed bodies. It was obvious I wasn't the first prisoner here, and the people who were put here were probably left to die.
Way to go, Bella, I said to myself.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of metal grazing against stone, and I knew at once that someone must have opened the door to the main entrance. A girl with white hair appeared in front of me. She leaned against the narrow wall opposite my cell door with her arms crossed.
"You are up from your slumber," she said in a chill tone, and I shrugged, causing the chains I was bound with to make a clanking sound on the ground. "You are probably going to die in here, but I will go bring water to you as I was asked," she said, turning to leave.
"Wait!" I called out at once, and she stopped, turning to face me with her brows drawn.
"What?" Her tone came out harsh, and I swallowed hard.
"I was wondering if I could see your leader. I have great news for them," I said, and she scoffed, walking back to me.
She opened her eyes wide and stared at me, almost like she was trying to show me my future here.
"What the fuck are you?" she asked, taking a step back.
"You... you have no clue?" I questioned, and she shook her head.
"I am a human turned vampire, and I am here because I have no place to be, so what would I know?" she questioned. "But do not think you can deceive me, wolf. Sue will kill you when she comes back." The mention of Sue's name caused fear and anticipation to mix in my heart.
"Is Sue your leader?" I asked, and she frowned harder. "I am sorry, but she is the one who turned me into a vampire, and I know you people need a hybrid to complete your ritual, so I am here to offer myself to you."
Her eyes widened as I said this.
"You are the hybrid. The chosen one," she gasped, and then she rushed out of the room without another word. The only thing I heard was the scraping the main entrance door against the stony ground. Then I lay back with a sigh escaping my lips.
Soon the door opened, and a male vampire walked in. His face was hard, with a scar etched on it. Without uttering a word to me, he opened the door of the cell, then walked into the room, unlocking the chains I was bound in. Roughly, he grabbed me, then bound my hands behind my back, leading me out of the room.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked at once, but he wouldn't answer.
All he did was take me through the narrow passage, leading me out of the room. When we left the room, we passed through a hallway that had statues and paintings on the wall. At the end of the hallway stood a painting that ran from top to bottom. The painting was of a man who had an uncanny resemblance to Sue.
"Who is that?" The question fell from my lips before I could stop it.
"Enzo Darkmoore. The greatest vampire to rule, and when he returns, you little wolves will be toast," the man gave an immediate reply before yanking me out of the hallway and taking me into a room that looked similar to a living room.
There were couches everywhere. It was empty at first, but in the twinkle of an eye, the seats were occupied with vampires. I counted about five, and the only one I had had an encounter with was the white-haired girl. They were really recruiting under our noses, and we had no clue. I expected the man with me to stop, but he passed by them while they glared at me like they were waiting to rip my head off. This made my heart race, and the thought that I might just be a stupid teenager rang out in my head. I tried to steady my breathing as this man took me into the next room.
My heartbeat faltered as I walked into a room with three tall seats. Then he gave me a slight push, allowing me to fall into the circle on the ground. The next time I looked up, a man and a woman occupied two of the seats. The last one on the right was empty, and it made me wonder who was supposed to be there.
"We have heard that you summoned us!" the man on the left spoke, diverting my gaze to him at once. "Speak, Hybrid, before we let you off to your doom!" the lady roared, and I peered into both their eyes.
They were red, and they held no atom of emotion. It made me wonder how long they had walked the earth, what they had done to preserve their lives, and how many years they had to build to regain their strength.
"I... I want to join you," I choked the words out of my mouth, and the room fell silent for a moment before they both burst into laughter simultaneously.
They stared at each other, and then I felt my throat dry as I stared at them. Soon the man raised his hand, and I found myself flying in the air and slamming into the wall behind me with a loud thud. It hurt my back badly.
"We are not here for child's play. Besides, we have set you up to be killed. What makes you think we can rely on you? We do not need your help, filthy wolf!" the man roared as I tried to get to my feet, holding my waist, which felt like my hip bone had dislocated.
I struggled for a moment while they sat there laughing at my weakness. It ripped my heart apart, and deep down, I swore I would get my revenge at the right time, but now I had to focus.
"No matter how much you try to push me away, I know you need me," I began again. The man raised his hand to push me away, but then the lady reached for his hand.
"Let her speak," she said, and I swallowed hard.
"I am a hybrid, and you need one to complete whatever ritual to free Enzo Darkmoore. I know how difficult it is to create a hybrid. Sebastian from the Rune Pack might be a hybrid, but you can think of me as an original. I have Sue Darkmoore's blood flowing in me, and I have decided to submit myself for this purpose."
"And why should we trust you?" A voice came from a corner, catching my attention, and I looked to see Sue leaning against the wall, looking unbothered.
Sue.
For the first time in my life, I was relieved to see a vampire, and it made me wonder if it was the mother-vampire bond.
"Because the werewolves don't like me either. All my life, I have lived in fear of the day they would replace out I am a vampire, but here, I do not need to hide. I can live my authentic life. Even my father wants to kill a part of me, but with you guys, I have found a purpose."
