Bella:

"Bella, come on!" Lyra yelled, but I didn't move until the car came to a halt. I was sure it was them, and as soon as the car stopped, the four doors opened at once, and my friends piled out of the car.

My gaze remained on them for a moment as I wondered what they were all doing. Then Hazel rushed up to me. "What happened?" she asked, but before I could speak, Lyra beat me to it.

"We fulfilled our mission, and Enzo will be alive tonight." Everyone's eyes widened when she said this, and Hazel glared at me. "If you care about your stupid wolf population, then maybe you should take them to a hospital, because Bella's bite will only heal their wounds, but the trauma..." she clicked her tongue. "It will be ugly, especially with the kids."

"Lyra!" I yelled her name, my chest tightening. We had already done a lot of damage, but she was trying hard to drive it into their chest, and it wasn't something I appreciated.

The twins rushed over to the accident scene while Ryder remained there, and I could tell he was giving me death glares over my shoulder.

"What?" she asked at once. "I told you to turn that stupid heart of yours off. It is going to get you killed one day, and except you are not on this mission totally. Are you trying to double-cross us?" My eyes darted across to Ryder, whose brows were creased.

"W... what are you talking about? Of course, I am in this with you guys." When I said this, I tried not to look at Ryder. "Guys, come on!" Mabel, who was on the other side of the road, yelled at the both of us, then Lyra crossed over at

once.

"Keep up, hybrid. Have some balls and act like the leader for once!" she yelled, and I tried to take a step when I heard Ryder speak.

"I cannot believe I am tied to you. This is ridiculous!" he yelled, then I turned to face him. "You have crossed the line, Bella. I do not care whatever group or alliance you have joined to hurt yourself alone, but the fact you had the effrontery to drag the poor members of this pack with you is something that I cannot overlook!" His jaw hardened, and I felt a little streak of fear cross my heart.

He was badly hurt by my actions, and I could tell, but I needed time. I knew there was a way to save them. For every problem, there is a solution. Enzo was killed by the former hybrid king, and I just needed to stick around a little longer to replace out how to release the hybrid king who could match Enzo, but he would never see that, and I couldn't blatantly explain to him-not with these vampires behind me.

"Then do something about it since you are the almighty alpha prince of the Frost Pack!" I gritted my teeth, and he scoffed.

I turned to leave at once, but then he grabbed me, and before I could tell, I was flying, landing hard on the ground. "Ryder!" Finn yelled, and I looked up to see him approaching me with his claws out and a yellow in his eyes.

"Close the portal. This is better than whatever is going on in that den right now!" I heard Lyra say to Mabel. Then Ryder rushed towards me with the speed of an Alpha, but I was fast enough to dodge before he could slash me with his claws.

I knew he was angry, but he was stupid, too. How could he believe he would beat me in a fight? I am both an alpha and a vampire.

"Ryder, you do not have to do this!" Kai yelled, moving to hold him, but he pushed Kai away with great strength, causing Kai to land on the ground on his back.

I got to my feet, staring into his eyes. Then I tried to sound tough. I cracked my fingers, letting out a dark chuckle, which didn't sound right, as everyone glared at me like I was crazy, but that was the least of my problem.

"Who do you need us to take, Bella?" Lyra asked, and I looked at her with my eyes blazing red.

"This is my fight, so stay out of it!" My voice came out harsh. Then I faced Ryder. "You want to fight? Then I will give you the fight for your weak, pathetic life." My words grated on his nerves, and he rushed at me with high intensity, but he was too slow for my vampire reflexes, and I shifted at once, catching his hand and tossing him to the ground. He didn't hesitate. He got to his feet, then dashed toward me with great strength again, and I stood still with veins cracking through my head and my eyes darkening. I could snap his neck in one swoop, so I tried to ground my vampire to keep in mind he was my mate. Well, that wasn't such a good idea, as he struck me hard on my shoulder with his claws, causing blood to rush out.

Hazel gasped, and the twins attempted to come to me, but Lyra and Mabel stood in front of them at once. "Move one inch, and we will show you what vampires can really do," Mabel said. Then I sensed the twins trying to bite them.

"Be careful of their bites!" I yelled, grabbing my injured shoulder. Then I watched as the two of them ascended into the air, causing the twins to fall flat on the ground as their attempts to capture them failed.

"And you still trust her?" Ryder asked as he looked back at the twins before looking at me. His eyes widened at the sight of my wounds already healed. Then I took my hands off my shoulder, cracking my neck.

"You are going to regret ever doing that. Now you either choose to walk away, or we finish this, and I am not holding back-mate or no mate!" I growled, and he lunged at me. Then I reached out for him, grabbing his neck.

I allowed my vampire side to take over at once, and I pressed hard on his neck, holding him up like he wasn't taller than me by about six inches. My grip kept tightening while he hit hard on my hands, trying desperately to break my grip, but I didn't falter. I looked him straight in the eyes, applying so much pressure.

"I am so happy we came on this mission with Seeing these pesky wolves die is one of my favorite things in the world." As soon as Lyra said this, I caught Hazel rushing toward her before she could look, and in the twinkle of an eye, Hazel's teeth sunk into her bare skin, causing her to crash to the ground, groaning in pain.

"Let him go, or your friend dies!" Hazel said, snapping me out of my haze.

My grip on Ryder loosened at once, and he fell to the ground, gasping really hard for air. The twins rushed toward him while I stood there watching him. I felt cracks in my heart, and it felt so bad that I was tempted to turn off my emotions, but I didn't.

"I am sorry," I muttered. Then Hazel pulled her teeth out of Lyra's neck, releasing Mabel, who she had initially frozen. She rushed toward the twins, and I ran over to Lyra, who was gasping for breath.

"I knew we should have left at once," Mabel said in a panicked tone, and I ignored her, rushing over to Lyra.

I sunk my teeth into my wrist at once. Then I brought the blood to her lips, allowing her to taste my blood.

"Suck as much as you can. It will heal you," I said to her as her hands gripped mine, and she sucked desperately on my skin, taking in so much blood until she couldn't. Then she pulled away at once, letting out a cough.

"Thanks, Bella," she said as we watched the black marks of the venom in her veins disappear.

I turned back to my friends, who helped Ryder up, and Hazel held her gaze on me.

"I do not know what to believe anymore, Bella. Maybe you have really become a bad person, and I hope you are making the right choice. You could be great and save the world, but it seems you have made up your mind, and it is time for me to make up my mind, too." My heart shattered into multiple pieces, and I searched the faces of the twins, but they looked away, walking toward the car with Ryder in their arms. I turned away too, walking into the portal that Mabel had created.

My heart thudded too hard, and even I began to doubt myself.
