Bella:

I placed my head in my palms, trying to process what Hazel had said about the test,

but the ache in my head wouldn't let me concentrate, and I had barely gone over what I had read.

"Take a deep breath, Bella. I am sure you will get over it. Just..."

"Let me be!" I breathed, and Hazel kept mute, looking at me, then she walked back to her bed, quietly grabbing her bag.

"Hazel, I didn't mean it, I am just..."

"I understand, and it is fine," she replied, then she walked towards the door. "I will try to save food at the cafe."

With that, she left. I groaned loudly, slapping my head, which hurt so badly that I had to stand up to get an aspirin from my drawer. After I had taken it, I rushed to the bathroom, hurriedly getting dressed. Then I grabbed my books, flipping through them in a hurry, trying to grasp as much as I could.

After a while, I rushed out of the room to catch Hazel, who was just at the entrance of the class building.

"Good, you made it on time," she said, scrutinizing my outfit, which I knew she had a lot to say about.

I had to remain in character, so there was no way I would go back to dressing like old Bella. I still had my heels on, with jewelry hanging around my neck and two buttons open with my tie on my white singlet.

She dipped her hand in her tote bag, then handed me a plate of toast and some juice.

"I'm sure you will do great," she said as we sat down on the stairs, placing our bags by our feet.

I pulled out my textbook and flipped through it as I ate my toast. Hazel tried to say something to me, but I barely caught it because I was still hungover from too much alcohol the previous night. We remained there until the bell went off, and we saw students rushing towards us.

"We better get going," Hazel said, grabbing her bag. I grabbed mine, and we walked into the building. I walked straight to class, as I did not want to bump into or see any of the triplets.

Shortly, the tests began. As soon as my paper landed on my table, I stared at the questions blankly, with nothing coming to mind. I had reread my textbooks, but everything vanished suddenly, and all I could think of were the events from the previous night. I sat there with sweat trickling down my face.

With each paper served, I kept ticking randomly until the last bell went and everyone stood up to put in the last paper. Before Hazel could speak to me, I ran off, attempting to head back to the dorm, but then I saw the three of them standing at the entrance.

"Bella," Ryder called out.

I kept a straight face as I marched towards them. They moved away a bit, allowing me to walk through the doors that led to the flight of stairs in front of the school building.

"We wanted to know how the test went, and if..."

"Oh, the test went great, thanks to you, Ryder!" I said in a loud tone, turning to face him. I walked back to them. "Maybe if you hadn't been an asshole, making deals, then I wouldn't have fallen for your stupid games, and I would have studied for my test. But thanks for nothing."

"Bella, we understand you are angry, and..."

"You understand nothing!" I yelled, tightening my fist. "You understand nothing, and all I can say is that I have forgiven you for being assholes who have done nothing but try to ruin my life. You can choose to forgive me for my fling with him, and if not, I do not bloody care!"

I walked away, heading back to the hostel. The moment I got to the dorm, I took the elevator to my floor. When I got out, I ran to my room, kicked off my heels, and tossed them aside carelessly. I threw myself onto the bed, my heart pounding as if it would burst from my chest.

Shortly after, Hazel returned. She called out to me, but I didn't answer. She made her way to my bed, and as soon as she sat down, I got up.

"The test wasn't good," she said, looking at me, but I avoided meeting her eyes. "I am sorry, Bella, and I wish there was something I could have done."

"Please don't play innocent with me. You insisted I leave with the Sapphire Belles, and if I hadn't, I would have studied. Now I'll probably fail my test all because of you!"

"Me?" she flared up, getting to her feet. "You neglected me after what happened, and although I would have readily comforted you, you sought their help. When you met with them earlier in the week, who were you supposed to study with? Me! But you ditched me and had your little fancy date with Ryder, so spare me the goody-good behavior, Bella!"

Her voice echoed through the room, and I stared at her with a half-smile.

"Is that the problem, or are you just jealous?" I asked, squinting my eyes, and she scoffed.

"Jealous of what?"

"The fact I am living the life you've always desired. You wanted me to join the Sapphire Belles badly, hoping to gain a spot, but it doesn't work that way, does it? You cannot bear to see me shine."

She let out a brief chuckle and shook her head.

"How can I be jealous of the fact that your life is in shambles and your name is constantly involved in one scandal after another? I like you, Bella, but you are nothing but a fool, and I will never admire your foolishness!" she yelled.

I grabbed her by the throat, pushing her with intense speed to the wall. I felt my vampire side taking over, and suddenly I could hear the echo of her veins. It wanted her blood. She trembled under my grip, slapping hard on my hand, begging to be freed. Then I looked into her eyes, erasing the memory from a few seconds before letting her go.

She got up, hitting her chest as I quickly shoved my legs into my sandals, making my way towards the door while Hazel sobbed profusely. But I didn't care, and I didn't want

to either, because that would mean feeling every pain I was holding back.

"I do not know what you have become, but I want my best friend back."

Those were her last words before I left.

As soon as I exited the dorm and found my way out of the school premises, I ran as

fast as my legs could carry me, my body slowly morphing into my wolf form.

Days passed after my encounter with Hazel, and our room became as silent as a burial ground. I stopped going to school with her and stayed in the company of the Sapphire Belle, my name constantly featuring on the blog as I acquired things most people couldn't afford. This made Fae almost invisible.

Hazel stopped speaking to me completely, and each time I returned, she would plug her ears or sleep. I tried to distract myself by going to the woods because hunting wild animals made me feel good. At least I wasn't killing were-people to quench my thirst.

I continued living my life this way, unaware that it was going to backfire in a few days...
