"It's Finn. He's already on his way with our parents," he said, pulling me closer and kissing my forehead gently. "I can't believe you're leaving today," he added, a deep sigh escaping his lips.
"You say it like you won't see me in fourteen days," I replied, feeling his grip tighten. "I might pass out if you keep doing that."
I wriggled out of his embrace and gently caressed his hair with my hand, his beautiful grey eyes opening, filling me with a pang of sadness.

We remained like that for a while until we heard the blaring of horns at the gate, causing us both to snap our eyes open. We got out of bed at once, and he checked his phone.

Finn's scent was unmistakable as he stepped out of his car, wearing a black winter coat. From one of the other cars emerged an elderly man who looked just like Finn and Kai-the beta of the Frost Pack, a man I had never met. A younger woman who looked slightly older than Finn accompanied him.
"He's here, isn't he?" Kai asked. Finn looked up, and I quickly shut the curtain, nodding. "We better get ready. My parents will want to see me," he said, and I raised the corner of my lips in a small smile.

I scanned the room for a familiar face and found Finn's, his warm smile easing my heart. Kai led me towards the couch where Finn sat with their parents, and he threw his arms around the young woman I had seen earlier.

He pulled away, and his father gave him a fist bump.
"This must be Bella," his mother said, and I raised the corners of my lips, inching closer to her.

"Mum," he called out, and we both chuckled.
"Mina," Grandma called out to Mrs. Lycanthal. "You should consider Kai leaving on the trip with Finn too, because I don't think he'll survive a day without her."
Finn sat up straight at her words.
"Can't you take a joke, Finn? No one's going to steal your girl," Grandma said, and the entire room burst into laughter. "Grandma Theresa, please," someone called out.
Her name was Theresa, and it had taken me a whole seven days to learn that. Mina made space for me on the long couch, and I sat down, listening to the family's random discussions as they ate and drank.
Soon, it was time for me to leave with Finn.
"Can't you stay one more day?" Mina asked Finn, and he shook his head.
"That would breach the agreement we had, and next week she'll be leaving with Ryder," he said, and his mother sighed.
The parents let us be, and I went outside with the twins. Kai and I stood by the door while Finn loaded my stuff into the trunk of his car.
