300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets -
YOUR FAVORITE
Bella:
Fae's party was a day away, and I had gotten the list of popular students a couple of days back, but I hadn't finished with the list I was given. It was tough trying to assign a particular dare to each person.
"You've been staring at that paper for days now. What are you working on?" Hazel looked at me, her head hanging off her bed as she lay on her back.
I paused, facing her while biting the end of my pen. My mind wandered as I tried to think of the best dares for the people coming to the event, but when I could no longer think of anything, I sighed and threw my head back.
"I'm trying to work out the truth or dare games for the party Fae is hosting on behalf of the Sapphire Belle," I explained. She sat up at once, supporting her chin with her hand as she stared at me. Her lips curved into a smile. "It's not as easy as it seems because I have to snoop around people's forbidden crushes and other secrets to give them an opportunity to hook up."
Hazel got up, walking to my bed with a mischievous smile still hanging on her face.
"Yes, you were invited because Sebastian is your boyfriend, and apparently, they love him." I turned away briefly with an eye roll as she squealed in delight. Then she sat close to me.
"Can I see the list, please?" she asked, making a puppy dog face that I couldn't resist. I surrendered the list.
Well, she had been in this school longer than I had, so I figured she would know better.
"This is easy to make," she said as she sat close to me, whispering people's secrets into my ear. I jotted them down. "I would like to have some alone time with Sebastian in the closet so we could make out."
I feigned a smile when she said this and put it down at once.
"What about you? Who are you picking?" she asked. I paused for a while, stroking my chin like I had an invisible beard. "Don't tell me you've never thought about it."
"Thought about what?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"You have three guys, and no one is your favorite. I used to think it was Ryder, but after you all got together, it doesn't seem the same."
When she said this, I looked at her with squinted eyes.
"What?" she asked, then I took a deep breath.
"You're right. They're all great in their own ways. I love how they care for me, and I love how they love me, but you're right. Ryder used to be just my stepbrother who would always bully me. Kai was the less mean one who was sympathetic. Then there was Finn, who I assumed didn't care about anything or anyone, but..." I paused, supporting my chin with a smile on my face, before I continued speaking. "When this whole mate stuff happened, I saw another side of him. He is strong-willed and reserved, and he knows how to treat a girl. They all do, but there's something about Finn."
Hazel squinted her eyes, nodding while echoing, "Mm-hm."
"Not everything has to be sexual, Hazel," I said, and she widened her eyes and her arms.
"What? I didn't say a thing." She shrugged, then gave me a squint again.
"Fine, I like Finn because of his personality."
"Mm-hm."
"I'm being serious. Okay, Finn is bigger, and he knows how to... you know..." She corked her brows in a funny way. "Ryder is so good with his mouth, and he drives me CRAZY. And Kai is so adorable with the way he holds and kisses me."
"Mm-hm."
"Hazel, stop."
"You like Finn better, okay, got it." I rolled my eyes when she said this. Then I snatched the paper from her and finished writing before taking a picture to avoid losing the writeup.

The day of the party came in the blink of an eye. Hazel blasted music from her speakers as we got dressed at Ryder's apartment. She danced around, talking big about how she wanted the night to turn out with Sebastian. In no time, we were dressed, and as usual, I picked my miniskirt, a crop top, and a coat for the cold.
We all piled into the car and drove off to Fae's house, which her parents had bought her for her sweet sixteen birthday. The large gate, manned by security, opened for us, and we drove into the compound, noticing a fleet of cars. The car came to a halt, and we all got down.
As I walked amidst the boys, we heard a scream from Hazel that startled us. We turned around to see Sebastian sweep her off her feet, tossing her over his shoulders with a light spank on her butt, which made her giggle and kick her feet in the air.
He trailed kisses down her body as he walked up to us.
"Hey guys, nice party, huh?" he said in a voice that did nothing but irritate me. I forced a smile as the guys nodded at him, then we made our way into the house.
Sebastian reached the front door first, put Hazel down, and opened it.
"Ladies first," he said. Hazel glanced at me with a sheepish smile before walking into the house. Sebastian waited for me, and I walked past him, ignoring the fact that he sniffed me. After that, the boys walked in, then we shut the door and made our way to the living room, where we met the crowd.
"You're here," Fae said, walking towards me with her arms wide open. She pulled me into a hug, which made me feel weird, and then she pulled away. "Ryder," she called out with a smile, but Ryder's face didn't move an inch. He looked her dead in the eye, then walked past us, making his way to the table with drinks.
The air felt weird for a moment, and silence hung for a few seconds before Fae spoke again.
"Welcome to the party!" She tried to sound jolly, but it felt forced. I shrugged and made my way into the crowd with the rest.
When we got to the table, Ryder offered me a cup to drink.
"I don't trust that bitch, and you shouldn't either. You've been getting acquainted, and I don't like it."
His words made me wonder if he was worked up about the usual Fae drama or if there was something else I didn't know about.
