Bella:

When classes ended on Monday, I rushed down to my mother's office. As I reached for the handle of the door, I heard her speaking to someone.

"It was nice having you, Mr. Stormclaw. I hope we can work something out for the peaceful coexistence of our children," she said. I contemplated turning away, but the door swung open, and I found myself face-to-face with a middle-aged man with brown hair. He looked like Fae if she had stronger facial features.

"Good day, sir," I greeted, lifting the tip of my skirt with a little genuflect.

"This is my daughter," my mother said, and the man gave me what appeared to be a warm smile. Knowing he was Fae's father made it difficult for me to receive it as genuine.

Her face was embedded in his, and the feeling of always wanting to punch her remained, but all I did was smile back. "She must be friends with my little fairy." When he said this, I concluded he had a hand in her nickname. He referred to her as "Fairy," and she had her stupid fairies.

My mum gave a stifled laugh. "They are acquainted."

I kept the smile on my face, wishing I could explode on this man for giving birth to the ruler of the kingdom of darkness. The man gave a short laugh, and they both walked away with my mother asking me to wait behind.

The moment they left, I walked into the office and shut the door at once, swinging into action. First, I dropped my bag on one seat, then went to her table, flipping through the documents on it. When I couldn't replace anything, I opened the drawers. There I saw her spare key in the second drawer, and I took one.

At first, I couldn't even tell what I was searching for, so I stuffed the key into my bag, spotting a door in a corner. I walked to it at once, turning the knob, but it wouldn't open.

"Honey, I'm almost done, and I will be with you in a moment. Bella is in my office," my mother's voice startled me, causing me to rush back to the seat, trying to steady my breath.

"If you are here to tell me about Fae, then I hope you can see that I just spoke to her father. Relax, because I have everything under control."

"Including the fact that she and Sebastian compelled Hazel?" Her eyes widened when I said this. "She owns an anti- compulsion ring, so next time you should ask Mr. Stormclaw the name of his witch. Isn't it forbidden for students to use magic around the school?"

She opened her mouth to speak but couldn't, which made me realize she knew something else.

"Is there something about Sebastian you aren't telling me?" I questioned. She scrunched her face, then crossed her arms, keeping a straight face in an attempt to intimidate me with her 'mother' aura.

"Bella, you need to focus on your studies. You almost didn't make it last semester because of this drama, and you have to stop. Go to the cafe, have your lunch, then get rested and stick to your books," she said, placing her hand on her forehead with a sigh. She proceeded to grab her bag and coat. "I have home duties to attend to, Bella, and I cannot keep playing these childish games with you."

I restrained myself from saying something hurtful, getting to my feet at once, and then I left her office.

Third person POV:

The entire afternoon, Bella paced around her room, thinking of what to do. Hazel wasn't around, so she couldn't talk to her. When the bells for extracurricular activities rang, she rushed out of the dorm and to school, making her way into the building. She walked to their class, expecting to replace Hazel studying, but Hazel wasn't there, and the class was empty.

She took out her phone at once, placing a call to Hazel.

"Where are you?" she questioned as soon as Hazel picked up.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I got carried away. Sebastian came by after school, and we are at his house." Bella's heart skipped a beat when Hazel said this. She tried to keep her mind calm, knowing he couldn't cause Hazel physical harm. "It's fine. I was just worried."

Of course she would be at his house, Bella muttered as she made her way to her mother's office, unlocking the door and locking it behind her so no one would notice it was unlocked. She ransacked the entire office until she found a bunch of keys in a standing drawer at a corner of the office. She grabbed the keys, fitting each one in the lock until she found the exact key, and the door was unlocked.

It was dark, so she tapped the walls by her left until she found a switch, flicking it on. The lights revealed some kind

of library with so many files. Bella walked to the first shelf and grabbed a file, seeing that it was a student's file. "Yes!" she clenched her fist in triumph.

Back at Sebastian's place, after overhearing Hazel on the phone with Bella, he became curious.

"Who was that?" he questioned.

"Just Bella checking in to see if I am okay," she replied, and he nodded.

He was curious to know more as Hazel had found out about him, and he knew that eventually Bella would too. "So... you guys have made up already?"

When he questioned her, she shot him a confused look with her brows raised.

"Were we ever in a fight?"

At first, he thought she was playing smart, then his words from that night replayed in his head. It dawned on him he had wiped out her entire memory of the night. He cursed himself silently for being so tense that night, which led him to say the wrong thing. He could make her remember, but before he could say a word, the bell on the front door rang.

"I'll get it," she said, standing up. His eyes caught sight of a pink book hanging out of her tote bag, carelessly left on the couch. He stood up at once, grabbing it to see that it was her diary.

The moment he opened the first page and saw a write-up about Bella, a smile formed on his lips. Why waste time on that when he could have this? At that moment, he heard Hazel's footsteps, causing him to slide the book under his shirt, then he turned around.

"There is something I really need to do now, and I will be back," he said to her, and she shrugged, digging into her meal.

Bella, on the other hand, had found Sebastian's file. She went through it at once, her mouth dropping open at the inscription, "Hybrid," on his status. It barely made sense to her because he never showed the characteristics, and he had no daylight necklace or jewelry at all. With no one to ask questions, she took photos and exited the room at

once.

Sebastian had found what he needed to spark a war between Bella and Hazel. At that moment, his phone went off, and he checked to see that it was Fae calling.

"Do you mind telling me why Bella and Hazel are still friends? What is your job again, freak?" she barked at him, and he held his phone at arm's length.

"You have to calm down. I messed up. After she found out, I mistakenly compelled her to forget everything that happened that night, so she has no memory of it. Bella is going to take advantage of that."

"Then compel her back! Fix this!" Fae screamed through the phone.

"I have a better idea," he said, sending the image he had taken of the pages of Hazel's diary. "Check your text."

When Fae saw it, she squealed in delight. "You might be the best scheming partner ever. Let's see how Bella would feel with her secrets displayed in front of the entire school with a little twist," Fae cackled, ending the call.
