Dimitri read the letter that had come into his hands. As the twin brother of the alpha and Commander of the pack, he had more responsibilities than he wanted in his life. His brother had less time than he did, so he had no right to complain, even now he knew he was planning well for the blow they would deal to the Grey Pack.

He ran his hand through his short hair tousling it. He was overwhelmed with the new events. What the hell were those wolves thinking? Lock up an omega. And a pureblood to boot. Didn’t they know they were as strange as albino wolves. With the ability to reproduce in large numbers, their bodies were hardy enough to withstand giving birth three times as many times as a common she-wolf, who only got her estrus every 100 years. What wolf wouldn’t want multiple pups with their life partner? It was her greatest longing.

He read the letter again, concentrating on the most important matter: his itinerary. He recognized the handwriting of that wolf prince named Fallen, brother of the two youngsters his twin had locked up in the other wing of the mansion. The directions for attacking the pack in three days’ time were written one after the other. The messenger at the moment was resting with his eyes closed on a couch in front of him. For the moment he could not return to his own. They were gambling everything with this intervention, even the separation of several families if the plan went wrong.

The multiple rumors of the exploitative system in the Grey Pack were more than well known, even if no wolf from the pack would confirm it. The abuse of the puppies, the raped she-wolves, the males on the verge of insanity, the lack of food and the poverty of the weakest were some of the things that were being said.

The Grand Council had called the alpha to account, but he had managed to escape unscathed, something that had bothered most of the other alphas deep down. So many mysteries surrounded that pack that it was impossible to know what was true and what was a lie.

Axel and Sasha looked at each other doubtfully. What the hell was that wolf asking them to do? To give him his mother? They both frowned, annoyed, this was unheard of.

Dante just looked at her body expression, understanding that they didn’t like his statement at all, something logical. In the end, with everything that was happening behind their backs, he would be the winner and would get everything, but he wanted to know their attitude for the sake of saving her.

Sasha bit her l*p

-Our mother will get out of one prison only for another,” he said more to himself than to the others.

-I never said I would lock him up or subdue him. I am going to save your whole herd, what guarantee do I have that after my effort they will follow me, only with the old queen on my side, they will obey me,” he declared.

The brothers found themselves at a crossroads. His words had all the reasoning expected of an alpha. What would their mother think of all this? She had already been held captive for so long that they did not want the same thing to happen again. On the other hand, if they didn’t agree, she wouldn’t get out of that place. Dante was known for being benevolent, they hoped that this time they would not make a mistake with their choice.

The alpha plopped down on the bed after finishing all the day’s business. He was beyond exhausted. Organizing everything meticulously was stressful and even more so when you were a perfectionist. He didn’t want anything to go wrong. The rewards would be several, including the possibility of offspring. If no female was capable of bearing his offspring, perhaps a fertile omega like this wolf named after the queen was the most reliable way to go.

He closed his eyes and his memory traveled back in time. He remembered when the late alpha and his queen had come to visit him, that would be the last time he would see them. A minimal delegation had accompanied him and what stood out the most was the one puppy that had attended. He couldn’t have been more than 10 years old. With short hair, tousled chocolate-colored waves, a laughing expression and beautiful big violet eyes, which to this day he could still describe. I hadn’t paid any attention to him, but who could have imagined that this little boy would be the ruler of his herd years later. No one!

He had been invited to the marriage as a formality, but he was traveling at the time. The image of that cub was the only ephemeral thing that remained in his mind. If he had been told that at present he would be asking for it for himself, he wouldn’t have believed it, but that was life, going around in circles. He only hoped that at least her physique would be appealing enough to please him. After all, he was more prone to she-wolves, but an omega wolf was always an admirable specimen.
