A Drunken Decision ( Annabelle Ross )
A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Nathan pulled her far away and mustered up the courage to say this.

No matter how much you liked him, no matter what reason you had, it is a matter of fact that Lucas and Annabelle were already married. If you wanted to be with Lucas again, you would be a complete third party.

Ashley was furious. She had never targeted Nathan, who was adopted from the welfare home because she had always known that he was a good–for–nothing who will never be a threat to her. Any problem that could be solved with money was not a problem. She was willing to give him some money to continue being useless for the rest of his life, even if he had always been on Annabelle’s side.

But now, Ashley regretted it, just like how she regretted being too kind to Annabelle back then. She shouldn’t have treated them too well in the first place. She was so good to them that they had forgotten who they were.

“What right do you have to talk to me like this?” Ashley looked at him and said coldly.

Nathan had always known that he was adopted by the Ross family. Even though he did not remember what happened when he was young, the Ross family had never hidden this matter. He did not accept it badly because his parents and Annabelle treated him very naturally. If he was wrong, they would hit him. If he was right, they would praise him. They would never treat him especially badly or especially well just because he was adopted.

In his heart, his parents and Annabelle were his biological family.

The first time he felt a lack of confidence due to his identity as an adopted son was actually because of Ashley, who had returned less than half a year

ago.

“Ashley, whether I’m the Ross family’s adopted child or not, even if I’m an unrelated passerby, it can’t change the fact that you’re trying to interfere in someone else’s marriage, let alone change the fact that this is an immoral and bad behavior!”

“You…” Ashley sneered. “You’re a loyal dog! I want to see what your loyalty can be exchanged for!”

With that, Ashley drove home. As for how Nathan was going to go back, it was not within her consideration.

Nathan did not have any objections. After all, he was not so willing to ride in her car now.

After taking a taxi home, Nathan received Madeline’s notification. Since he wanted to work hard, he would have to rely on his own ability to learn and live abroad.

Nathan was stunned for a moment before he quickly understood what Madeline meant. He returned to his room and took out the bank card that had accompanied him for eight years from his suitcase.

That was the gift he received from his father, Timothy, for his 10th birthday! Every month after that, he would transfer a sum of pocket money into it. Because he had decided to study abroad, his father had just transferred 60,000 dollars into it not long ago.

Nathan looked at the somewhat old bank card and felt a little reluctant. It was not that he could not bear to part with the money inside, but he could not bear to part with the card itself. It was his birthday gift.

But now, he had no choice but to return it.

So, like Annabelle, he was also abandoned by his parents, huh?

Nathan took a deep breath and blinked hard. He tried his best to comfort himself. It’s alright! It’s alright. He still had Annabelle! He was a man. He could not cry. He still had to rely on Annabelle!

In the future, he would earn a lot of money by relying on himself. He would give Annabelle enough to spend. Yes, he would also give some to his parents. After all, no matter what, they had raised him!

Nathan felt that he was already very lucky compared to the other children in the welfare home.

When he walked out of the room, Nathan saw the person standing outside. It was none other than Ashley. At this moment, he was smiling smugly at

him.

Nathan only paused for a moment before continuing to leave.

However, Ashley said, “As a person, you have to keep your eyes open and see who’s useful to you!”

Nathan stopped in his tracks and looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

“What can your good sister, Annabelle, give you?” Ashley walked to Nathan’s side and curled the corners of her lips. She sneered and said, “She hasn’t given you anything. No, perhaps she has given you cheap care. Otherwise, how could she have easily bribed you into pouring your heart out to her? Hehehe… No wonder you have a good relationship with her. Because you’re both equally stupid! You can’t see the situation clearly! Look, in this family. if I let you live well, you’ll live well. If I don’t let you live well, you won’t live well either! I can even make sure you can’t go abroad with a single word! say! Of course, I won’t do that. I really don’t want to watch you guys act like a loving pair of siblings in front of me!”

Ashley was not afraid at all that Nathan would become talented and successful after leaving the country. After all, she thought that he would never succeed. Despite the excellent conditions he had access to locally, he couldn’t make a name for himself. Thus, she didn’t think that he would be able to succeed overseas where there was a language barrier and without an abundance of money for his living expenses.

There might be miracles in this world, but Ashley did not believe that miracles would happen to Nathan, whom she saw as a good–for–nothing

Yes, if he swallowed his pride and bowed down to her now, she might still give him a way out!
