A Drunken Decision ( Annabelle Ross ) -
A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 80
Chapter 80
Annabelle thought that Elizabeth was deceiving hersell. Once this matter was exposed, her family could only suspect the two of them. No, they would only guess the culprit was Elizabeth.
Of course, Annabelle had already promised Elizabeth that she would back her up. If her family wanted to punish Elizabeth, Annabelle would also accept the same punishment.
However, Annabella felt it was useless being alibis for each other.
“Annabelle, do you want to hear what they are talking about?” Elizabeth asked mysteriously.
Annabelle waved her hand dismissively. She was not interested.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. “I don’t know if you really trust Lucas or if you don’t care about him. You know very well that woman likes him, yet you are not the least anxious about it.”
Annabelle looked at her in disdain. She lay on the couch and said offhandedly, “I will be worried if this is many years later when I’m old and haggard. What’s there to worry about now?”
Elizabeth looked at Annabelle, who still looked attractive even though she was pregnant. She agreed with what Annabelle said.
There was no way for Yolanda to be a threat to Annabelle.
Elizabeth did not say further. She only gave Annabelle a thumbs up.
Annabelle smiled and accepted her compliment graciously.
Meanwhile, Lucas did not waste much time with Yolanda. After all, there was nothing much to say.
No matter what kind of person Annabelle was, as an outsider, Yolanda had no right to check her background.
Yolanda’s expression was dark. Lucas was so blunt that she knew all her efforts were in vain. Lucas did not replace any of her arguments valid.
It was only then that Yolanda realized how much Annabelle meant to Lucas.
Annabelle was not a wife Lucas merely settled for. Neither did he marry her because of the unborn baby. He really loved Annabelle, and that was why he married her.
Yolanda still felt indignant about it.
Lucas did not tell her the reason, of course. They were childhood friends, and there were things they could do things together. However, there were also some things that they could not share, no matter how close they were.
One man’s meat was another man’s poison.
Howard noticed how awkward Yolanda looked and attempted to speak up for her. However, Lucas stopped him before he could say anything.
“If I tell you that the girl you fancy is a scheming woman, and I want you to stop seeing her, will you listen to me?” Lucas looked at him and asked.
Howard kept quiet immediately. He always felt that the person he liked was unparalleled in the world. There was nothing bad about her at all. As he thought about this, he secretly glanced at Yolanda, who was standing beside him.
At the same time, he understood Lucas‘ intention. Howard was not the victim this time, so he would know how much it hurt. He knew he should not have interfered in this matter since it concerned only both Lucas and Annabelle.
“Lucas, I know we shouldn’t have done this. It’s our fault.” Howard admitted his mistake.
Lucas nodded. Finally, he asked if they wanted to stay for dinner.
Howard shook his head. He still had to go home that night.
Yolanda, who was standing beside him, could no longer be bothered by Howard’s stupidity. She turned around and left the study room.
“Lucas, I’m leaving too. When Howard saw Yolanda walk off, he quickly chased after her.
Yolanda stormed out of the study. She picked up her coat, put on her shoes, and was about to walk out of the house. While walking, she put on her
coat.
Howard did not understand why Yoland was in such a hurry. He also took his coat and chased after her.
Upstairs, Elizabeth and Yolanda heard the commotion and hurriedly went downstairs. They ran to the window and looked out expectantly.
Shortly after, they saw Yolanda walk to the gate of the courtyard and take out the toy snake from her pocket. She was so frightened that she jumped and screamed. Immediately, she broke down and cried. Howard rushed forward to comfort her.
“We just gave that man an opportunity Hmph!” Elizabeth could not help but shake her head and sigh when she saw what had happened.
“Have we gone too far?” Annabelle stared at a sobbing Yolanda as she asked uncertainly.
“In what way have we gone too far?” Elizabeth did not think they had gone overboard with their trick. “She wanted to destroy your marriage. She’s the one who has gone overboard.”

“That’s too much indeed.” Annabelle nodded in agreement. Yolanda did not succeed in breaking up Lucas and Annabelle this time. However, if she was bent on destroying their marriage, she might try again. There was still a possibility that her marriage would be in danger one day.
Hence, Annabelle no longer felt guilty.
“That’s right.” Elizabeth encouraged her. “Such a person ought to be taught a lesson…”
“Of course!” Annabelle nodded in agreement, failing to notice that Elizabeth did not complete her sentence. Elizabeth then poked Annabelle, who gave her a puzzled look.
Annabelle was baffled. What was Elizabeth trying to do? She was standing very straight.
Before Annabelle could figure it out what was happening, she saw Elizabeth wink at her continuously.
Annabelle was stunned for a moment and could not react in time. When she regained her senses, she slowly turned around and found herself bumping into a body.
She saw a person wearing a black sweater. It was soft and cottony. She felt good touching it.
“Oh, hehe… Have you finished your work?” Annabelle braced herself before looking up at the person. She giggled, trying not to look guilty.
Unfortunately, Lucas had always been a principled man. He was not easily fooled by Annabelle’s pretense
“What are both of you up to just now?” Lucas asked. His face looked very grim.
“Nothing.”
“Are you the one who put the snake in Yolanda’s coat?”
Both girls were so nervous that they gave completely different answers.
Elizabeth denied it vehemently.
Annabelle’s guilt was apparent to all. She admitted that they were the culprits.
Elizabeth could only roll her eyes. She thought that Annabelle was a dumb accomplice. If she knew that Annabelle was stupid enough to give them away, she would never have told Annabelle of her plan to take revenge on Yolanda..
Annabelle said, “It was Elizabeth who came up with the idea. I was the one!”
”
In the end, both girls were punished. Lucas made them face the window and reflect on what they had done wrong.
When Timothy came back, he found the house to be unusually peaceful and was puzzled. He knew it was not possible for the two girls to be so quiet.
He was about to take a seat on the couch when he heard two voices calling out to him..
“Daddy!”
“Dad!”
Timothy looked in the direction of the voices and saw Elizabeth and Annabelle standing in front of the window in the living room and almost jumped
up in fright.
“Are the two of you learning how to crawl on the wall like lizards?” Timothy finally calmed down and asked with a frown..
“Daddy, I know I am wrong!” Both of them started apologizing. They hoped that Timothy would talk Lucas out of punishing them. It was so embarrassing to be punished this way.
Annabelle followed Elizabeth and also apologized profusely. “Dad, I know my mistake too!”
Timothy was baffled by their cries of plea. “Come here and tell me what you have done.”
The two of them looked at each other. This time, they had a tacit understanding and walked toward Timothy.
