Chapter 131 I Don’t Know You

“What’s the meaning of this?”

Lucian did not react at once, slightly caught off-guard. Just yesterday Gabriel had been positively dying to know him the day before.

Just overnight, everything had changed.

“What do you think I mean?”

“You’re the Staleridge War G od’s number one enemy. You’ve made so many enemies, and now you’re running to my house? Are you trying to get us killed?”

Susan’s words were clear and crisp.

“Oh, I see.”

Lucian did not replace this strange. “Well, what happens to me has nothing to do with you. The Staleridge War Go d’s trying to take revenge on me, not you guys. Plus, I came here looking for Uncle Simon, not you.”

“Your Uncle Simon’s dead!”

Susan did not hesitate to slam the door shut, roaring, “Get out of here, and never come back!”

Lucian had not expected her to be so ungrateful.

It was fine that she did not appreciate him risking his life to save Dennis, but she even refused to acknowledge him and was actively trying to keep a distance.

“Dad, Mom! Have you no honor?”

Simon’s voice rang from the porch, panicked and anxious. “It’s because of your dear grandson that Lucian offended the Guevaras! You might not want anything to do with him, but I do. Open the door, quick.”

“Have you lost your mind, Simon?”

Gabriel yelled, “Lucian’s only going to bring you harm! The Gray family, Larry and Oscar want him dead, and even the Staleridge War Go d’s out to get him. Don’t you know that even the Azure Dragon War King isn’t going to protect him? What does he have? He’s just a lamb waiting to be slau ghtered, you’ll end up just like him if you choose to remain in contact.

“We can’t just watch you die! This is for your own good.”

Susan said bitterly.

Following that, the air rang with the rest of the Bowman family’s voices. What made Lucian the most speechless was that even Dennis was persuading Simon to stay away from Lucian. Lucian was now a no-good bringer, and anyone close to him would be dragged down with him.

“Slap…”

Simon could take it no longer, landing a harsh slap onto Dennis’ face as he roared, “Dennis Bowman, you heartless monster! Anyone in the world has more right to abandon Lucian than you do! Lucian only got on the Guevaras’ bad side to save you, there’s no way you don’t know it!”

my fault?”

“Dad, I didn’t tell him to play that awful game! How is it

Dennis shouted back indignantly, as if it made perfect sense for him to cut contact with Lucian.

Simon could no longer talk any sense with these people. He forced the door open, looking at with you, Lucian seriously. “Lucian, remember what I said. The whole world might be at war I’ll be on your side helping you.”

The words touched Lucian, and he nodded. “Thank you, Uncle.”

“Let’s go, we’ll talk about this.”

but

Simon was holding a stack of agreements, dragging Lucian to leave.

“Simon, if you dare leave with him, you’re out of the Bowman family starting from this very second! You won’t be my son anymore, think about it.” Gabriel gritted his teeth.

“Ha!”

Simon scoffed coldly. “I’m only alive because Lucian saved me, and now I’m repaying him. Unlike some ungrateful ba stards, turning their backs on him.

Simon was straight to the point this time. He was willing to lose his relationship with his family to be on Lucian’s side.

Even if he died, he was going to die with honor.

Gabriel and Susan were about to explode with rage from the words, looking at Denise to the side. “Denise, Simon’s lost his mind. You’re his wife, why aren’t you stopping him? Are you just going to watch him die?”

Denise stopped short, before speaking:

“Dad, Mom, I’m on Simon’s side this time. I saw how Lucian saved us with my own eyes. If Simon really dies this time, I’ll go with him. It’s what someone with a conscience would do.

Denise’s words made Simon stop in his tracks. He turned around to face her, giving her a

thumbs-up.

Lucian looked at Denise in shock as well. He had not expected for her to say such a thing.

“You’re all crazy, you’re all f*cking crazy.”

Gabriel stomped in rage, yelling at the pair. “You can go f*cking die, then! I’m not going to care anymore.”

Over at Sunny Cafe.

Simon finally calmed down after downing two cups of coffee in one go, before putting the agreements he had prepared in front of Lucian. “These are all the credit notes from back then. I even made you a list of all the borrowers.”

Lucian nodded, taking the list. He glanced at it, and frowned.

He saw that some of the borrowers’ names looked very, very familiar.

Queenie Dupont!

Gary King!

There were three or four more names that were impossibly familiar to Lucian.

Back when Lucian was in high school, he had started an entrepreneur club under his father’s guidance during summer break. Queenie and Gary had been members of this club, and the two of them had made quite a bit of money with Lucian’s connections then.

After school restarted, the club disbanded. The members went their separate ways, going to the colleges they wanted to go to.

During college, the members continued to start business. They used Lucian’s connections, and made a good amount of money from Skypride Group.

“Oh, it’s them.”

Lucian smiled at the sight of the names, remembering the happy times they had once spent together. “They’re doing pretty well, their companies are all well-established. I’m happy for them!”

“Are you really going to ask them for money, Lucian?”

Simon was slightly worried. “Look at their portfolios. They might not be very old, but they’re not to be messed with. Especially Queenie Dupont, she runs the biggest entertainment company in Sioux that has raised some of the biggest celebrities out there. I got beaten up when I asked her for money back then.”

“Of course I’m going. They’ll pay me back, I believe them.”

Lucian did not seem to be worried about the Staleridge War Go d at all. “You can go home, Uncle Simon. I’ll get her to send you the money herself after I get it back, and even get her to apologize.”

“The apology won’t be necessary!”

Simon sighed, clearly paying no mind to this. After all, getting money back from Queenie was just too hard.

But Simon knew Lucian’s temper was just like Alexander’s, and there was no stopping them once they had put their minds to something. Thus he did not say too much, only a, “Be careful. Call me if anything happens.”

“Alright, don’t worry.” Lucian stared at the list, replying calmly.

Liam’s call came after Simon left.

Liam’s voice rang through the phone. “Sir, I’m sure you know about the Staleridge war zone, right? The Staleridge War God’s publicly provoking you. Do you want to respond, and show him a little stuff?”

“Is there the need for that?” Lucian said calmly.

“He’s just a warlord who just came into power, what right does he have to talk down to you like this? You’re the biggest go d of battle there ever was, you’ve got tens of thousands of soldiers under you and you even have the power to strip people of their military titles! How dare he challenge you?”

Liam was clearly quite angered by this, spitting the words out viciously through the phone.

Indeed, Lucian was the most powerful person in the military right now. He had made endless contributions to the country, and even used his power to put Vandergrift on the map as a force to be reckoned with.

The king of Vandergrift had given Lucian the power of the King of the Army when he had made him the Infernal War Go d.

Any soldier, let alone a warlord or a war king, had to listen to the Infernal War Go d.

The Infernal War Go d also had the power to strip anyone of their title in the army.

The Staleridge War Go d was no one compared to the Infernal War Go d!

“Stay silent.” Lucian lit a cigarette, his gaze flashing coldly. “How is the Nordfren war zone going to tell who’s good or bad if they protect me?”
