A Gold Alpha For A Silver Alpha
Moon-Colored Eyes Chapter 3

Welcome to our humble home, my partner and I are so grateful to see so many people gathered here in celebration of our children.

Applause from the guests. Dad let go of my arm as he spoke and in his place now Mom accompanies him, behind them my siblings and I form a line from oldest to youngest.

-As you all know, today is a very special day as my children Juliet and Jace turn eighteen and become official members of the pack, and in a few minutes they will have their first transformation. My mom continues and I can feel the power she gives off with every word.

-But not only that, we are also pleased to announce the official engagement of our son Julian with Miss Bella, a round of applause for them, may their life as a couple be full of happiness.

Julian breaks away from us with everyone's congratulations and walks to where daddy's Beta is with his family. Bella is wearing a pretty pink, short lace knee-length, princess-cut dress with no see-through at all. When she arrives in front of the girl, she bows her head in respect to her father and then extends her hand, Bella takes it, Julian leaves a kiss on the back of her hand, (a real gentleman my brother), and the two of them walk back to us.

My brothers and I watch them with a huge smile on our faces. The first to marry, the first to leave us. I wonder who will be next.

-Last but not least. Our pack and we are pleased to officially announce our first born Jackson, as the heir and future Alpha of the pack. May he lead all the wolves wisely when his time comes.

I glance sideways at Jackson as Mom speaks and for once in his life his smug smile disappears for one of gratitude and humility. Gee, is that a blush I'm seeing, I'm dying of tenderness, I'll make fun of this later. -Thank you for celebrating all this with us, let the party begin.

My dad announces and immediately the notes of the waltz are heard. Quickly dad takes mom by the waist to twirl around the dance floor. Julian dances with Bella. Jackson with Anastasia. And me with Jace.

The four of us couples move to the beat of the song, totally in sync and not missing a step. We've been rehearsing this for at least three months, and it couldn't come out more perfect. As my brother's arms lift me up in a pirouette I feel my heart want to explode with joy, the people around us stare at us spellbound, some give us looks of envy or jealousy, others of admiration and respect. They whisper quietly among themselves.

But I don't care, I'm living a dream right now and I wasn't planning to let anything spoil this night.

At first I hated the dance lessons, it seemed most ridiculous to have to waste those hours of my life when I could be training, but as the weeks went by I grew fond of it. So I felt a little sorry when at last the final notes rang out and brought the tune to an end. Jace and I leaned in and shared a knowing smile. He was as spellbound by the evening as I was.

As soon as our family finished dancing, everyone else joined the dance floor as a new song began. Mom and Dad wandered off to talk to various wolves. Jackson and Anastasia also disappeared from the dance floor. Julian, Bella, Jace and I stayed behind. I passed from arm in arm, several wolves from the pack and neighboring packs would take advantage of trying to engage me in conversation.

I would answer them politely but would not lead them on to anything else. My only mate would be my mate, and I had no interest in meeting more people who would talk to me just to get a connection to my family. I'd had enough of those in my childhood without putting up with them.

I danced and danced, with children of Alphas, heirs, Betas, the occasional Omega. They all praised how I looked, how well I danced, how pretty my smile was. They also wished me all the luck in the world with my first transformation.

Just when I thought my poor feet wouldn't take another round of laps Jace grabbed my arm and pulled me off the dance floor to take me to my parents. They each had a backpack in their hands which they handed to Jace and me.

-It's time princess, you and your brother must go to the forest, when the moon is at its highest point everything will start and you must be ready for that.

My dad hugs me and I feel like telling him to never let me go.

-Try to relax, don't fight the pain, embrace it and let it go, it will be easier that way.

Now Mom pulls me into her arms.

-Don't worry about us, we've got it all covered.

I wink at them, Jace takes my hand and we walk out of the living room and out the back door to the kitchen.

-Nervous midget?

-Not a bit. What about you, brat?

-You're kidding, this birthday will be remembered as the best day of my life.

My brother makes me laugh with his pleased puppy smile.

We walk deeper into the woods, mom had already told us where to go, so the areas are clear of other wolves to give us privacy. Jace says goodbye to me and goes to the opposite side of where I am.

I take off my heels because it's getting harder and harder to walk in them through all the brush.

After a few minutes I get to the part of the forest where mom indicated. Carefully I take off my dress and put it in the backpack with my heels. And even though I was alone I didn't feel the confidence to take off my panties, I knew they would end up tearing and I would spend the rest of the night without them. But I wasn't worried, it wasn't the first time I would wear a dress like that with nothing underneath.

I placed the backpack on the branch of a tree, so that no other animal would take it. And I stood still, I didn't know what to expect honestly, according to me it had already been an eternity and still nothing happened.

I raised my head as the moon's rays illuminated my body. I could not say how it started, why everything was fine. But from one moment to the next my body twisted with pain, as if I had suddenly received a blow in the stomach.

I wasn't expecting it, so the next cramp caught me off guard and I fell to my knees. In the distance a cry of pain was heard, and I knew it was from Jace. But I didn't have time to think about my brother, for the feeling of being tired as if I had just run a marathon drained my energy. My blood ran hot and I was terribly aware of my senses sharpening. My eyes were adjusting to the darkness, my ears were bothered by any buzzing of bugs. My heart was beating a mile a minute.

But the worst was the sensation of my bones breaking. That's when I didn't hold back and started to scream. More than feeling, I could see how my anatomy deformed. My legs twisted as did my arms, I fell face first to the ground and twisted as it was the spine's turn to rearrange itself.

It shouldn't have taken more than a few minutes but it felt eternal. I was so tired from all the pain that I simply closed my eyes hoping it would all be over soon. When I opened them again the feeling of no longer being in the same body made me dizzy for a few moments. I tried to move forward but my front legs shook and I fell again.

I let out a snort, I didn't like not feeling in complete control of my body.

I sat up again, this time more carefully. And slowly I began to walk, now paying attention to both hind legs and front legs. I gained speed and was now trotting. Soon I was running. My eyes were seeing all the details I couldn't see before and I could hear at a much greater distance. I let instinct guide me and did whatever it wanted. I dodged trees, jumped traps, a howl sounded closer than I thought and I responded with another. My chest vibrated with the force of my lungs. I kept running, and soon a caramel-colored wolf with golden rays and amber eyes approached me.

Playfully he pushed me and I pushed him back. We growled at each other a little and started a race back to the mansion. Jace will be very happy to see the color of his wolf.

Even though my brother's wolf was bigger by a few inches, I found that I was faster and more agile. So I was the first to arrive, when I got to the garden I discovered all the guests with my family outside waiting for us.

My parents and siblings were smiling brightly at me. As well as the wolf behind me.

Mom was holding a large mirror, halfway from her hip to the ground, it was the width of her body and had a gold frame. I recognized it, it usually hung in the foyer.

I approached it, walking slowly. The guests bowed and touched their hearts while throwing blessings and good wishes.

-Something told me they would like to see each other.

My mother turned the mirror so that it was horizontal so that both wolves could see each other.

The image I had stole my breath away. My wolf was an amazing gray color. Totally gray, my fur was abundant and looked silky to the touch. My eyes were a mercury tone that reminded me of my own only these were a little darker. While my size wasn't quite that of an Alpha like my brothers or my dads, it was definitely larger than a Beta like Logan or Noel. My fangs were more elongated than average and my paws looked muscular.

She is beautiful.

Thank you so much.

I shied away for a moment when that voice rang in my head. But then I got excited.

Are you my she-wolf?

What a silly question, of course it's me, who else would be in your head bothering you right now?

Well, sorry, I had to ask, my name is Juliet, and you?

You can call me Casiana.

What a nice name.

You're very kind for a human, I hope we get along well.

I think so too.

Now that the introductions are over, I'd like you to let me have control for a little while, I've been waiting since you were born to be free again.

How do I do that?

Just let yourself go.

And so I do, I take a deep breath and just let my body act, I don't think about it too much. Suddenly I'm no longer in the garden, but in the forest again. I run and dodge. I feel the earth hit my paws and the soft breeze caresses me.

I feel free. My muzzle opens and I let out a long howl, in the distance others are also heard and you don't have to be a genius to guess it's my family.

A presence overtakes me and barks. I can hear Jace's laughter in my head and I know he is using the mental link to taunt me.

This will end badly for you puppy.

Before I can understand the meaning of those words my she-wolf charges my brother and knocks him down. Then he runs, but now he runs for real. The trees become mere blurs that I see as I pass, and I don't even focus on things properly, leaving me to my sense of smell.

The scent of my brother is left far behind (who smelled of blueberries and mint, by the way). And suddenly I am aware that I no longer recognize the part of the forest where I am.

Stop.

Casiana obeys me and I am master of my actions again. I walk and look everywhere trying to replace my way.

But it's useless, I'm lost. Which is very strange because I grew up in these woods. How far had my she-wolf brought me?

I pay close attention and advance carefully, the only thing I was missing was that I had crossed the border without realizing it and now I was in free lands. Lands of the rouge.

The sound of breaking branches made my head turn suddenly to the right. But my eyes focused on nothing. My paws carried me in that direction as the feeling of being watched came over me. A warning growl came from my chest as I became defensive.

The wind blew and a faint scent of forest and chocolate hit my face. It was only a second but it was enough for my senses to be activated at a thousand per hour. And a pang in my heart squeezed it, the feeling that I needed to replace something very important seized

me.

I was about to run off to look for where the scent was coming from when several howls sounded behind me.

I knew it was my family looking for me, but I still didn't want to leave. I wanted to investigate.

I debated inwardly about what to do. But when more howls began to sound I made the decision to turn back. There would be time to investigate another time. I still had a party to go to.

With a howl to signal my location I turned around and ran following the noise.

After several kilometers I recognized the area, and almost had a heart attack when I realized that Casiana had indeed crossed the herd boundaries.

Oops, you'd better not tell your parents that detail. I don't think it will make them very happy.

I agreed with my she-wolf. It would be my little secret, like that strange scent and the delicious smell.

I soon got to where my backpack was. And just by thinking about it my body returned to its human form. I moved my arms and fingers as if I were a newborn baby testing her body. And I was surprised to replace him tired but incredibly stronger.

We wolves are in good condition because of all the exercise we do when we transform. Why do you think there are no overweight werewolves?

Great, now besides my brothers, dads, and tutors I also had a wolf with a teacher complex.

Respect me human.

Oh leave me alone, it's my birthday, you might not be in such a sour mood.

I guessed Casiana took pity on me because she didn't say anything anymore.

I put my dress back on without underwear because my panties had indeed torn. I didn't put on my shoes because I simply didn't feel like it. I walked back to the mansion and watched as the party was in full swing. Everyone was in the living room and dancing, eating or laughing. Through the glass doors that looked like picture windows I walked in. Still not caring that I was barefoot.

I scanned the crowd of people in search of my family and ran into my older siblings shuffling my twin's hair. I went up to them smiling. Jace was barefoot like me, and he was also carrying the sack in his hand. He was trying in vain to straighten his shirt and fix his hair, but it was an impossible task with Julian and Jackson bothering him all the time.

-Stop bothering my little brother! I let go and ruffle Jackson's hair.

He growls at me and puts it back up. Julian hugs me while Jace looks at me gratefully.

-How was your first night as a wolf sis?

I felt my eyes sparkle.

-Amazing, it was great, I've never felt so strong and powerful. Although my she-wolf is a bit bitter. I'm sure we'll get along in the long run.

I say and my three brothers give me that fatherly smile they learned from dad.

-What's your wolf's name, mine is Loris.

I raise an eyebrow and look at him curiously. Jace has a proud smile.

-Loris? That's a weird name. Mine's called Casiana.

-With that name you can't tell me anything about weird names midget.

Jace scoffs and I give him a little kick.

-Stop it you two, the names aren't weird. They're from Latin, so that's why they're not common. Loris means King of Battles, and Casiana means Slayer.

Julian interrupts us and we all look at him with raised eyebrows.

-And how do you know that, smartass? Jackson asks for everyone.

-Because when you guys were studying Greek or training, I used to read mom's books. And I also paid attention to her lessons. Always visit Ebookex.com for more novels and updates She knows many languages and Latin is one of them, she taught me personally. Julian says proudly and we all roll our eyes, Julian was mom's favorite.

-See little brother, that's why you will be the best Beta ever. With your brains and my leadership we will lead this herd into a new golden age.

Jackson says and I can't help but get in his face.

-That's still a long time away brother, I don't think my parents will be happy to hear that you're planning to take them out.

Jackson sticks his tongue out at me and I mimic him.

-Ha ha ha ha, very funny. I'm not planning anything, I'm just saying what the future holds. Dad says a good Alpha is always prepared for any difficulty. -Speaking of, where are my parents? I ask and all three shake their heads.

-I haven't seen them since we got back. An Alpha from an allied pack approached them and started talking to them. After that I lost track of them. Julian answers while shrugging his shoulders.

This makes me sick, my parents would never disappear in the middle of our birthday party just because.

-I'm going to look for them. I announce, and I know they're going to protest and try to distract me. I was the most curious of the four of us, and that had already led me to several incidents in the past. Like the first and only time Jackson had brought a girl into the house. More specifically into his bedroom.

I'm not going to give details. I'll just say that my brother got mad at me and didn't talk to me for a week and my mother grounded him for a month. Apparently it was supposed to be a secret that the girl would be there.

Oops.

My feet carried me out of the room and I heard my brothers following me. Probably to make sure I wasn't going to do something stupid.

My sense of hearing was much, much better now. So I didn't have to shout to know where they were. For I could hear quite a bit of commotion in the kitchen, between the hallways and especially in Dad's office.

I think it was more than obvious where they were.

I walked in that direction in a very quiet manner.

The door was ajar and only a small halo of light was visible. Voices that I recognized as those of my parents and two strangers crept through the space. Making both my siblings and me hear the conversation perfectly.

-...we'll tell the boys-. I heard mom's monotone voice.

-I don't know, I never thought I would be alive to see this moment.

Dad replied and the four of us gave each other a quizzical look. All our lives we were taught not to listen to other people's conversations, but this one in particular gave me a bad feeling. We all moved closer, careful not to be overheard, and paid attention. -You want to hide me then? One of the unfamiliar voices said and sounded annoyed. From the timbre and thickness it was definitely a man.

-No, of course no one wants that Leonardo, but you have to understand that we are worried about our children's reaction. They don't have the slightest idea of your existence.

Dad says in a calm tone.

-Well, neither did I until about five minutes ago. I think we're even. Now the voice sounded irritated too. Ugh, what a pain in the a*s.

-Sorry to butt in on this, but I think it's only right to wait until tomorrow. The Alphas are celebrating tonight and it doesn't seem appropriate to give them news like this right now. The second voice sounded full of power, and I assumed it would be the Alpha Julian mentioned to us.

-And in the meantime, what do I do, stay like a dog locked in a room? A snort sounds and I can imagine the man rolling his eyes.

-You go and enjoy the party. My kids won't recognize you. Just try not to draw too much attention to yourself or people will notice and notice something different about you. Mom spoke and sounded firm.

A small chuckle rang out.

-This is ridiculous, why don't we just go to the little princes and princess and tell them they have another brother and that's it?

The stranger's words left us all stunned. A dizziness overcame me and I staggered backwards until I collided with one of my brothers, I'm not sure which one. Several exclamations of astonishment come out of our mouths and my hands loosen, dropping my shoes that make a clatter when they hit the floor.

The door bursts open letting us see our parents who look at us pale as a pair of vampires. Logan, Noel, Dannia are also there, like ghostly presences. Two silhouettes are unfamiliar to me. Both are male and wearing black suits.

The first one has black hair with some gray in his sideburns. He is about my father's height. He has a beard also with some gray hair, and his dark blue eyes look wise and full of sorrow. The man must be at least in his fifties from his wrinkles.

The second is a boy, taller than me, and probably about the height of Jackson who was the biggest. His hair was a dark, honey blond. His eyes are sky blue. But they are as cold as ice. He has a strong build, and several scars are visible on his neck and hands. A feral aura surrounds him, his jaw is square and strong, he has thin lips and he looks annoyed, and very, very tired. He gives us a look of indifference, and this is where I notice the terrible resemblance he bears to Dad, Jackson and Julian who are also blond but in brighter and lighter shades. -Jackson, Julian, Juliet, Jace, what did you hear?

Dad asks, but I'm still too stunned to answer.

-Everything, we heard everything. Jace answers with the most serious voice I've ever heard him, I give a sidelong glance to my siblings and I see they all have the same betrayed expressions, ones that are the same as mine.

-We can explain. Mom says but the boy who is apparently our brother lets out a sigh as he crosses his arms.

-Well, I guess it could have been worse. He says in a bored voice and mom throws daggers at him with her eyes.

-Silence Leonardo, this is not something to be taken lightly.

My mother says in an Alpha voice and Leonardo looks at her in annoyance.

-You can't give me orders, you are not my mother or my Alpha to do so.

-WHAT? I finally regain my voice and my shout makes everyone jump in place.

-What do you mean this guy is our brother if you're not his mother, this doesn't make sense!

Jackson exclaims and I know that like me he is about to lose his temper.

-Leonardo is his brother but he is only his father's son, not mine. Mom says calmly, and all our eyes fall on the man who gave us life.

-If you give me the chance I can tell you that everything has a reason. He mentions and my heart breaks.

A brother who was my dad's son but not my mom's son. The boy was big, probably older than all of us. Mom was Dad's mate, which meant Dad had been doing his own thing before or while he knew Mom.

I had so many questions. Where had my brother been all this time? Why didn't we know of his existence? Did that mean Jackson wasn't Dad's firstborn? What was he doing here now?

My parents would probably clear up all my doubts if I said them out loud. But an unfamiliar sensation clutched my chest, preventing me from thinking reasonably. Something I had never felt before but identified immediately. Betrayal. Pain. Disbelief. Anger.

I shook my head as I turned away from the body of the brother I now identified as Julian.

-Juliet. My father called me, but my body reacted first.

I spun on my heels and shot out of the place. A noise to my right made me watch as Jace ran up beside me. A glance back and I saw Dad try to touch Jackson as he stepped back and looked at him in disgust. Julian seemed to be yelling something.

But I didn't stick around to replace out what happened next. One look with my twin made the two of us understand each other perfectly. We walked out the front door of the mansion and were soon transformed for the second time in the night. Our wolves ran in every direction. Both with the same goal in mind.

To disappear.

Several miles ahead I lost sight of my brother, but I didn't worry. We both knew how to take care of ourselves.

I ran and ran. I ran away from the place that had been my home, where the people I loved most in the world were waiting for me. But where I no longer felt comfortable being.

A lie, I had been living a lie all these years.

Jace's howl of pain twisted the knife stuck in my gut. And I let out one equally laden with grief.

I wasn't planning on going home that night.

And when I did, they had better have the best explanation in the world for my parents. For this was not something either of us would easily forgive. Resentment was in our blood.

My head hurt.

A brother. I had another brother.

And I didn't know how to process that information. I picked up speed and lost myself in the night.

Brother...
