A Kiss For Your Freedom -
Chapter 40
She ends up coming back to see me and sighs when she sees that I'm not dressed.
- I chose this dress to make you look your best but it won't change anything for him that you are in this outfit.
- You just want there to be nice wrapping around your gift. You know that what you plan to do is against the law. You, my own sister, dare to offer me for money, for business. - I do what is necessary for our survival.
- No, you do what's right for yours. I don't give a damn about money. I have something more precious, much more precious.
- You'd better forget that. To forget these monsters. You will never see them again.
If I were you, I wouldn't bet on it.
- You still have time to get dressed if you want, whatever your decision, it won't change anything.
Her gaze is so cold, I no longer recognize the one who comforted me after the death of our parents. The one who came running when I had nightmares.
- Our parents would be so ashamed of you, I said without even being able to stop myself.
A spark of rage is born in his eyes, mixed with hatred. What could I have done to her to make her hate me so much?
- My poor. So you don't understand anything. Since they died, I've been working hard, fighting every day. I don't have a life anymore, I just take care of this company and you. And in return, what do I get? Nothing! You can think what you want about me, but at least the company will survive and I won't have to worry about it or you anymore.
--So that's all I am? A simple weight that you are letting go of?
- I have given enough, sacrificed enough. I told you, it's your turn now, she said, slamming the door behind her.
My marks pulse, they feel my pain and my anger. I must calm down, I must not destabilize them. I hope they will be there before this infamous character. I can barely imagine how far she can go. I close my eyes, trying to control my breathing. I have to wait a little longer.
Jason's POV
We arrive in front of his business just before it closes. No trace of her or even her sister. I go down and remove my headset, in the secretary's eyes I remain a customer and she will surely be more inclined to give me information. I zip up my jacket so she can't see my wound and rush inside. It only takes me five minutes to get the information. Five unfortunate minutes but which are already too many if we know that she is spending them in the hands of a psycho.
No matter how hard I think, I don't understand why she did that, why she came to attack her own sister. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore. I have the address and we'll be there in less than twenty minutes.
Emma is doing everything to control herself, to calm down, but I feel that she is panicking, she is afraid and I don't like knowing that one of my two halves is in this state. Dorian knows where to go. He rushes into traffic, the pain in my shoulder fading as my rage builds, my anger snarls. Is it entirely mine or is it also Dorian's because, even if he didn't say anything when we stopped, I saw the glint of his Wolf in his eyes.
He's going way too fast in this traffic, but he controls his bike and I just have to follow the movements of his body until he stops in front of a huge house. I think back to Emma's apartment and tell myself that this taste for excess definitely comes from this sister. She ends up coming back to see me and sighs when she sees that I'm not dressed.
We take off our helmets and get off the bike.
"She's there," said Dorian.
- As well as his sister.
-I don't feel anything else.
- Me neither.
-We go in, we pick it up and we leave.
- How? Your motorcycle only has two seats.
-She came here by car.
- OK, let's do it like this, I said, sighing.
A human, I didn't think I would have to stand up against this race one day and yet here we are, breaking down its door and entering this huge house with a bang. She prepares a table and seems stunned to see us. I immediately turn my head to see if I see Emma but I can only smell her. I follow my scent to break down a door and replace her sitting on a bed, her eyes red, almost shaking.
As soon as she sees me, she rushes towards me and throws herself into my arms. In this moment, all traces of pain disappear, my heart is filled with a feeling of extreme happiness, she is there, alive and well, in my arms. I squeeze her a little tighter than I probably should, but I can't help it. I was so afraid of losing her, so afraid of never seeing her again.
- I'm fine, she tells me as she kisses me quickly. But we have to leave. My sister has gone crazy. She almost sold me to a man. She arranged a sort of marriage to merge our business with hers. I don't know what's wrong with him, but we have to leave. - Let's go love, we'll go wherever you want.
"I don't care where we go as long as we stay together," she said, grabbing my hand before leading me out of the room.
Seeing Dorian, she throws herself into his arms and her smile warms my heart. His sister remains trembling, without knowing how to react. She must have thought that we wouldn't survive, that we would be beaten by these Wolves, but she didn't know how much Emma could mean to us.
Dorian lets his eyes change color, he does not hide his pleasure at replaceing her. I move closer to them by going to hug them in turn, immediately Emma turns to me.
- You are hurt my heart. Are you okay, aren't you in too much pain?
I smiled before kissing him quickly.
- Now that you're with us, things can only go well.
She smiled at me in turn before kissing Dorian.
- Let's go, said the latter. Get the car keys and we'll leave right away.
- One hundred percent for it, she said before turning to her sister. As for you, you are lucky, because tell yourself that if they are there it is because they killed the others. Twenty Wolves, compared to two, so imagine what they could do to you. Imagine how much pain they could make you suffer. You're going to forget me, definitely. You and I are no longer part of the same family, they are my family. I never want to hear from you again. I never want to see you again. I hope for you that I was clear because if you were to cross our path again, tell yourself that this time, my Wolves would certainly not be as kind. It's up to you how much longer you plan to live.
- You can't leave Emma, she said almost panicked. You don't understand what's going on.
- I'm going to leave and you can believe me, no one will hold us back.
We are heading towards the exit when a man arrives accompanied by two bodyguards given their outfit. Emma tenses automatically as her sister resumes.
-I told you you couldn't leave.
-- And I told you that nothing would stop us.
I feel that Dorian is on edge, it wouldn't take much more for his Wolf to appear and kill all three of them.
- If you value your life, get out, I said, letting my eyes change color. Your deal doesn't concern us. Work it out with her.
But clearly, he's not a man who's used to being told no. He takes a step forward and looks at Emma a little too earnestly for both of our tastes. Dorian groans as Emma shivers between the two of us.
"So you're my future wife," he said, smiling.
He gestures with his hand and these bodyguards in turn come forward, drawing weapons. Dorian growls a little louder, she doesn't try to calm him down, as if she already knows what they are capable of. I turn towards her for a short moment, she is calm, sure of herself, sure of both of our strength and my Wolf reacts without me being able to control him, I growl in turn, I feel him struggling to take the lead. above, trying to convince me, to force me to kill them, to crush them just because he dared to pretend that she could be his wife, his, when she is ours.
- You are even more beautiful than your sister told me. You will be a perfect wife, he said with a perverse smile.
- I only belong to them, she replies while our Wolves reveal themselves by stunning them on the spot.
They rush towards the guards while Emma advances towards this man with a look so dark, that even me, it could make me tremble.
- A woman is not an object, a trophy. She always chooses the arms in which they abandon themselves and unfortunately for you, the arms that surround me belong to the most powerful creatures there is.
Her smile is almost icy and yet she is all the more beautiful for it. I see Dorian's jaw closing on this human's body. There shouldn't have been any injuries, but as always, humans are unable to contain their arrogance. My Wolf also wants his dose of revenge, he wants to show in turn that he is capable of protecting her. Then his blood pours into my throat along with a powerful growl. This man is shaking so much he can barely stand.
Her gaze is bloodshot, a puddle of urine spills into her pants as we move forward at the same time as she places a hand on each of us.
- My Wolves, she said, almost in a daze.
It's the link that speaks, I know. We were separated too long, too violently. She reacts to our presence,
He collapses on the ground while he tries in vain to protect himself with his arms but Dorian already throws himself at him, crushing his arm. He screams in pain, but Emma doesn't tremble, she observes the scene without blinking. So in turn, I throw myself at him and sink my fangs into his chest. I pierce these lungs, I feel it immediately. His chest heaves as in a short time he will be searching for his breath without being able to replace it. He will agonize hoping that the air will infiltrate him when it will only flee from him. No one will come to help her, no one will come to her rescue, he signed his death warrant by daring to claim any right over her and she turns to her sister to tell her, - You see, forget me, where
next, it will be you.
