Emma's

POV

We've been locked in this hospital room for two days already, I have to say that I'm starting to replace the time long, really long. Jason can't move, although he heals faster than a human, he will need time, rest to recover from all this. More than me. When the doctor arrives, he is still asleep. The latter quickly looks at me before telling me,

- You will be able to go home. You will still need some rest but you are well and are therefore fit to go out.

- Perfect, what about Jason?

- He's going to need a little more time. These wounds are deep, although at the moment there are no traces of infections, we must keep him under surveillance to make sure that everything goes well and that there is no longer any risk to his health. --And for Antoine?

- Same as for your friend. They won't be able to go out for several more days.

- Thank you for everything doctor.

- It's especially your other friend that you should thank, it's him who rushed to bring you here, without his speed and these reflexes, all three of you would probably be dead, in any case it's a certainty for at least least two of you. I will prepare the papers for your exit, he adds before leaving the room.

Jason squirms in his bed before waking up and turning to me with a grimace.

--Hello love, he said softly.

- Hello my love. How are you feeling?

- A little better than yesterday, that's already it.

- The doctor just came by, he said I could go out.

- And for me?

--Not for a few more days.

- At least the children will be happy to be able to see one of us again.

- In a few days, you will go out too and we will go home, I said, reaching out my arm towards him to touch his hand.

-- Before going home, he begins.

- Don't worry, Dorian and I will take care of her. She's ruined our lives for far too long, we're going to take care of her.

"I'm not sure you should do that," he said sadly. It's up to me and Dorian to take care of this.

- You know that's not true. It's up to me to take care of this, as you have taken care of yours in the past. Dorian is on her trail, we will replace her and we will never hear from her again.

He sighs heavily before sinking a little deeper into his bed. I know he doesn't like this idea but this time I'm not going to give him a choice. He's in no condition for another confrontation and in any case, I don't plan to wait until he's out of the hospital to settle this once and for all. I wouldn't wait for her to send another mercenary after us. I wouldn't wait until she ruined our lives and made us suffer even more.

- Promise me that you will be careful, love.

- Of course I would be, plus I would have a hot bodyguard to help me in case of problems, that's not insignificant, I said, smiling at him.

- It's true, it's not insignificant, he replies, smiling at me in turn.

I get up from this bed to start dressing, Dorian must have already sensed that I was going to be able to go out, I suspect it won't be long before he arrives. Once I'm ready, I sit next to Jason while slipping my hand into his. I don't like the idea of knowing that we're both going to be separated for a few days, but I'm going to do violence to myself. I must not flinch. I have to hold on and keep my goal in mind.

Dorian's POV

As soon as I felt she could come out, I took the car to rush to the hospital. As I stand on the steps in front of the entrance, my cell phone rings. There is only one person who has this number, so that means he finally found the information I asked for. - Tell me you have good news, I said, closing my eyes.

- The cops could hire me you know, I'm much more efficient than them.

--You're the best.

He gives me an address as well as his new identity. As I thought, she did everything so that we wouldn't replace her but this guy is a genius, nothing escapes him.

- You want to know how I did it, he asks.

- I prefer that you keep the mystery, in any case, I owe you one.

I'll remind you and then you owe me a drink anyway.

- Thank you, I said before hanging up. Thank you for everything you have done.

I put my cell phone in my pocket before hurrying to go home and replace them. I suspect that Jason isn't going to be the happiest in the world, but in my eyes, it's already a big step to get at least one of them back. When I enter the room, I replace her sitting on the bed, dressed normally and no longer with this white blouse. She turns to me, smiling. Her face is still marked but that doesn't detract from her beauty. Immediately, I walk up to her to take her in my arms. "How are the kids?" Jason asks, trying to sit up slightly.

- They are doing very well. Melissa is great with them. She introduces them to lots of things, walks in playgrounds, delivery of pizzas and hamburgers and of course the joys of the internet. They're having fun, I have to say that it makes me feel good to see them like that and it makes them feel good too. I think they needed it after what they saw, what they experienced.

- That's good, he replies gently, that's good.

I feel his pain, his pain at the simple idea of staying there alone. I feel guilty while for my part I am so happy to know that Emma will finally be able to go out.

- In a few days this will all be behind us, he said, grabbing my hand. I will survive, even though the food is terrible here, he adds to reassure us.

- As soon as we get home, I'll cook you your favorite dish, sweetheart, said Emma, placing her hand on his cheek.

- But when we get home, I intend to have more than that, I would very much like to see you as a nurse and doctor devoted to your poor patient.

- Absolutely, she adds, bursting out laughing.

This sound fills the entire room, warming both of our hearts. I love hearing her laugh, every time I feel like I'm falling in love with her all over again. We stay with Jason for a good part of the afternoon, it's only when the sun sets that we leave together, with heavy hearts as we leave him behind. As soon as we get into the car,

she takes a deep breath before asking me, - You found it, didn't you?

- I've found.

- Perfect. We go back to replace the children, we spend the evening with them and this evening we put everything in order. I want us to leave tomorrow morning. Everything has to be finished before Jason leaves the hospital.

- All right.

I take the time to look at her before starting, I know she wants to do this herself. I feel all the rage, all the anger she has inside her and which is only directed towards her sister. I'm not sure it's a good idea but it's his decision, I have to respect it. anyway, I'll be there if needed and if she can't, I wouldn't hesitate to kill her. I have enough blood on my hands not to worry about getting a little more.

My family is my priority, my most precious asset, we will no longer give them the slightest chance to attack us. The journey is made in silence at first. She places her hand on my thigh while looking out the window. All of this must bring back memories in her, memories that are not all pleasant.

- I think I forgot how crowded this city was, she said, placing her fingers on the window.

- Do you miss it?

- What? The incessant noise? Pollution? Insecurity? The traditional metro, work, sleep cycle? No risk, I wouldn't trade our little corner of paradise for anything in the world.

- You see me delighted, I admit that I have no desire to come back and live here.

- Me neither, she adds, observing the lights outside. It's strange, I was born here and I grew up here, yet I almost have the impression of being a foreigner, of being someone other than at that time.

- It's probably because you are, my dear. We all changed, the moment we met, our lives changed to become even more beautiful, sweeter and above all almost magical with the arrival of children. She turns to me, smiling.

- You always knew how to replace the right words to comfort me.

- I'm just telling you what I think, my dear, as I always have.

We arrive in front of Melissa's house and she doesn't wait for anyone to walk through her door before rushing in and taking Emma in her arms.

Damn, she said smiling, it's so good to see you.

- Watch your language in front of my children, Emma replies, laughing. I missed you Melissa, I really missed you.

- Come on, Madam Mom. Your little monsters can't wait to see you.

As soon as she moves, the little ones jump on her.

- I'm fine, my loves, she said softly, hugging them tightly against her.

- And dad, asks Julien, where is he?

- He's fine too, he just needs a little more time to heal. You were both very brave, you know. Your dads and I are really proud of you.

They smile even more before covering her with kisses. Children have this wonderful ability to make anyone smile and especially to make a mother forget the ordeals she has just gone through.

"Let's go back," Melissa said, heading towards the door. You and I have some time to catch up, it seems to me.

- And we'll catch up with him, I promise, but first, I still have something to do, Emma replies, following her inside.

I sigh, following suit. I already know it will be painful,

Elea's POV

There's a problem, there's got to be a problem. I haven't heard anything for days. Yesterday in desperation, I ended up trying to call him to no avail. I immediately came across his voicemail. I sent text messages and never received acknowledgments. Something happened, I'm sure. I walk around my living room biting my nails. This is all starting to make me nervous, a little too much for my own good. But I remember, I can't forget what they chose to show me, the way they killed before my eyes with such ease and such bestiality. Yohan better succeed, otherwise they'll end up coming after me in retaliation.
