Author's POV

A/N: Thread carefully, this chapter might contain some very juicy secrets that might make you slip. Happy reading!

Angela's mother sat beside her daughter on the hospital bed. She was

busy knitting a scarf, a red scarf that she thought would fit Brittany just right when she finally woke up. She was hopeful, although scared. She wanted nothing more than to see the smile on Brittany's face again.

Months ago, she had lost her husband to the cold hands of death, never did she thought she would be staring at her daughter as she also fought death. It was too much for her. How much could a person as fragile as her take? One daughter was at the gate of death, another was missing.

Her husband's death almost took her life. A lot of her friends looked at her as though she was the strongest person for still staying alive after her husband died but only she knew what she went through to be able to stand on her feet. The dark secret she was keeping, the number of nights she stayed awake, the days when she couldn't stomach anything, and the tears she cried.

One of the most important reasons why she was still standing was because of Reina, her granddaughter.

She didn't deserve to be in this situation. Ever since Brittany was brought back unconscious, she questioned her luck. She believed

she must have done something wrong at some point in her life to be in such a horrible situation. She tried looking through her lifetime to see if there was anyone she could have offended, but she found nothing.

"This will look so good on you Brittany," she said. The girl she was talking to was like a doll, lying so stiff on the bed and the only sound in the room was coming from the several medical machines providing life support. "All

you have to do is wake up," she asked while lifting the scarf so she could get a better look at it.

She held her daughter's hand and squeezed tightly. "fight for your life, Brittany. You have to fight!" She cried.

Even though the woman knew tears wouldn't resolve anything, it was her last resort. She had tried to stay strong and not cry but was that even possible for a mother?

She was watching her daughter's life slipping out of her, how could she stay still?

The door opened and Dr. Halle walked in. She quickly cleaned the tears from her face and turned to the doctor. She watched sharply as Halle examined her daughter, checking up on her vitals and other necessary things she couldn't replace a name for. "What do you think? Will she be fine?" She asked hurriedly.

Halle removed the gloves from her hand and threw them in the dustbin nearby. "I don't want to give you hope, ma'am, especially with the result of the test we conducted,"

"Please call me Hannah," she requested.

"Okay Hannah. Since she wasn't responding to any of our treatment and we had our suspicions, we had to conduct a test to replace out if she had ingested something. We were able

to discover that she injected wolfsbane, which is probably the most deadly poison for a wolf,"

Hannah gasped before covering her mouth with her palm. She had to first search for the chair with her hand before she collapsed on it.

"I know what a wolfsbane is,"

In my little years of experience, I'd only seen a few cases where wolves survived a wolfsbane poison,"

You're really not giving me hope," she cried. She wanted to hear that Brittany would be fine. She wanted to hear someone Tell her she wouldn't have to bury her daughter. She wanted someone to pinch her or slap her, just do anything to wake her up fro "I don't want to lie to you. I just want you to strengthen your hear. We can't keep her on life support; it would feel like we're punishing her. I can only offer advice, but you are the only person who can make the final decision."," She stared up at the doctor with scorn. "You want to take her off fife support,"

"She's suffering, she needs peace but like I said, I can only give advice. You make the final decision,"

"Listen to me, I know you're only doing your job but you're stepping out of line by looking me in the eye and telling me I would be suffering my daughter if I try to keep her alive. She's only been on life support for about twenty-two hours. When you have your own child and you're in a situation like mine, I hope you'll be able to look into the mirror and convince yourself that the right thing to do is kill her," That's not what I meant,"

Halle tried to calm her down but she wasn't about to have it.

"You can go, doctor, thank you for your help..." with scorn, she looked up at Halle, "And of course, your advice,"

Halle could only nod as she left the room, leaving the poor woman alone with her daughter.

As soon as Halle was out of the room, Hannah burst into tears. Her heart ached so badly as she took several looks at her daughter over and over. Brittany was a shadow of her old self. The girl was bright, beautiful, and intelligent. She loved calling her sunshine because she brightens her world. She was so beautiful and elegant she could only wonder how she could have a daughter like her.

A hand suddenly wrapped around her small, fragile frame and she took on his scent before she relaxed into his hold. It was the man she had been seeing secretly. It was

her dark secret. One that'll get her crucified if people ever replace out. The man or maybe the boy was just a year older than her first daughter, Angela.

"I'm sure she'll be fine,"

"Where have you been?" She cried. She needed him more than ever.

"I'm sorry I haven't been here. I've been busy with assignments from the Alpha,"

She'd fallen in love with him because of how dedicated he was to his work as a warrior in the pack.

"What are the doctors saying?" He asked.

"That I should lose hope,"

He kissed her hair.

"You shouldn't listen to them, my love. Hold on to your faith. It'll help her stay strong as well,"

Thank you,

He was the one person she could rely on at this moment.

"I'm sure Angela would be back soon as well. Darius would replace her and bring her back safely. I'm sorry I had to break the bad news to you earlier in a hurry,"

Keep standing. That little girl is looking up to you now more than ever,

"Can I still keep my hope? Can I keep on having faith?"

He kissed her. "You're the strongest woman I know, Amore Mio. I love you,

Something stared at her as soon as he said those words. Was she supposed to say I love you back? Something that started a fling between them was becoming bigger and more important. How greatly would she be mocked for fucking a boy twenty-two younger than her?

But first, she needed her daughters back in her arms before she could give her mind about people's opinions of her life.
