Chapter 107

Leah was still trying to wrap her head around what Hunter mentioned earlier about a ten-year-oldchild that he had to take care of when she heard the conversation between Hunter and Sage.

Leah wondered to herself: “What did he mean by “back on good terms?’

Could it be that the man in the car earlier was Sage’s ex-boyfriend?

Furrowing her brows slightly, Sage said, “What's with the fuss,”

Hunter collected himself and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “Sorry, I was too worked up.”Sensing that something was off, Leah quickly said, “Sage, I'll let you get back to work and perhapsMister Hunter can send me to Norah Jewel so that I can adjust myself to the new environment.”"Okay." Saga added, “You can talk to Hunter if you have any questions. Make sure to stay humblewhen you're there, and do more, talk less.”

Leah nodded. “Okay, Sage.”

She then tugged softly at Hunter's sleeve. Hunter turned to see the nervous look written all overLeah's face and found it funny that his junior was actually trying to save him.

Jace had rented a suite at Yoel's Skye Hotel,

Perhaps he did not sleep well last night, Jace’s mind was reeling.

His mind was crowded with Sage — the words she said, the way she looked when she talked, thecolor of her eyes. Everything about her was replaying over and over again in his mind like a brokenrecord.

She told him that she did not love her anymore.

Jace pulled into a bitter smile. He thought that anyone would have left defeatedly anddisappointedly after being treated this coldly by him.

More so when it was the prideful and arrogant Sage Norah.

He could only imagine how Sage had felt, how she had to put away all of her pride when she stoodthere in front of him, with tears o n her face, asking him to dismiss their divorce.

But back then, Jace only had eyes for Sienna.

He knew that he was being cruel and cold-hearted, but for the sake of not dragging out the painany longer, Jace had ruthlessly ended their marriage.

But right now, he was regretting his decision.

And Sage who had always been there for him, whose feelings were sincere for him, was no longerwilling to wait for him.

And he was all to blame.

At four in the afternoon, Jace had once again shown up at Norah Group.

The incident with Yuri Harley had constantly reminded the front desk employees to carry out theirresponsibilities with professional conduct. For instance, they would never allow Jace to enter thebuilding without any scheduled appointments even if he was truly good-looking.

Although it was hard to resist the temptation of a good-looking guy, it was more important forthem to keep their job.

Before Jace or Zayne even said anything, one of the front desk ladies said sternly, “My apologies Sir,but you're not allowed to enter without a scheduled appointment.”

Zayne walked over and told them politely that they had a scheduled appointment with Sage. However, the group of front desk ladies stood their ground and insisted that they should not enterthe building.

Guessing that he would be given the cold shoulder again, Jace sighed annoyedly and was about tocall Sage when he saw Hunter walking toward him.

Walking over to Jace, Hunter greeted politely, “Sorry to have kept you waiting, Mister Jace. Ma'am isready for you at her office.

Please come with me.”

Under the startled and surprised gaze of the front desk ladies, Jace entered the lift with Hunter.Zayne straightened up his back and stood tall. He was finally able to hold his head up.

Now that Jace was her business partner, Sage was completely different in her attitude.

When the lift reached the seventeenth floor and as soon as Jace and Hunter walked out of the lift, all the employees got up onto their feet and started greeting him politely.

“Good to see you, Mister Jace.”

This was not something new to Jace but he felt rather taken aback to be receiving such a “warming’welcome from Sage.

Jace found it somewhat funny and sad. Hunter who was leading in front of him knocked on thedoor. "Ma'am, Mister Jace is here to see you.”
