Chapter 209

Leah looked more calm and steady on stage compared to when she was backstage. She was able toreply to the reporters’ and host's questions eloquently, especially when asked about the conceptand the story behind her designs, Leah's eyes were lit up. “She looks so young and full of vigor! It'sso good to be young, isn't it?” Looking at Leah, Sage was reminded of her younger self. Back then, her eyes too were filled with light. But since when did the light in her eyes slowly dim? Hunter, onthe other hand, had his eyes glued onto Leah and he was full of smiles. Sage caught a glimpse ofhim, smiled, and asked, “Do you like it?” “I do.”

Hunter replied instinctively. Shortly after, he quickly realized that he had just answered Sage'squestion without thinking it through. The-smile froze on his face as he turned around and clarified,“Ma“'am, 1...” “Why are you all nervous?”

Glancing one that I have in mind.” Scratching the back of his head, Hunter was slightly embarrassed."..." "Someone is finally willing to open up his heart.” Sage smiled and went on, “One of the bestfeelings in this world is that the person you like, likes you back too. If you do like her, you should goafter her. What's there to be worried about?

Hunter's eyes lit up. He had never once thought that Sage would actually agree with him pursuingLeah which was precious to her. But in just a few seconds, with a straight face, Sage added sternly, “Idon't mind that you want to pursue Leah but two things that you should keep in mind: One, don'tlet it interfere with your work, two, don’t dare to bully her. You know better what happens if youbully her.” “Yes ma“am!” Hunter could not hide the happiness in his voice. “Don't worry, I will not letthis affect my work and I will be sure to treat Leah well!”

“Look at you all happy,” Sage scolded playfully. Just when she turned around wanting to return toher seat, Sage met Jace's eyes. He looked gentle and was wearing a smile on his face.“Congratulations.” Sage, on the other hand, had her eyebrows knitted into a frown. “How did youget inside here?”

Jace replied nonchalantly, “I told the security that I'm your boyfriend and they let me in right away.”Sage's brows furrowed even tighter. Looking at him indifferently, she replied, “I don't have aboyfriend. You can leave now.” She then walked past him, sat down on the sofa, and continuedwatching the live streaming of the press launch. Ada was the one being interviewed now. Standingbehind her, the smile on Jace's face froze slowly as his entire body tensed up. His face was gloomyand overcast. Could it be that Sage was still mad about what happened during the call? Walkingtoward her, Jace tried to explain himself, “I was too worked up when I called you the other day. I wasjust worried that you'd be hurt and wanted to ask if you needed any help...I didn't mean anythingelse...”

“Mister Jace, as you can see, I am quite busy now and I don't have the time to be chattering withyou.”

Rather annoyed, Sage cut him off and added, “Please leave if there's nothing else.” Sage was askinghim to leave, coldly.
