Chapter 366

It had been a few days since Wayne stayed in Rosa Garden. In the end, he still wanted to leave.

“I'm really not used to staying in a big house, nor do I enjoy being taken care of by other people. Iprefer staying alone. Come on, Sage, please let me leave.” Wayne really tried hard to pursue hiseldest granddaughter by talking like a little child asking for candy.

As Hunter and Leah heard Wayne asking to leave again, none of them responded at the dinnertable. Both of them look at Sage:

This time around, Sage did not reject Wayne's request directly. “It's alright if you don’t want to stayin Rosa Garden. I bought a small house near Pheonix Vintage Market. Once it is ready, you can staythere.”

“Pheonix Vintage Market!" Wayne's eyes widened. The suggestion hit his sweet spot, and it wasexactly where he was planning to move in to. “That... works too.” Wayne did not reject it. “But I needto go to Nadeem City soon. I have set an appointment with an old pal that I had not met for a longtime.”

Sage agreed with it and instructed, “Hunter, make the arrangement to have someone send Grandpaover.”

Hunter was a productive and efficient person. He quickly added it into his memo and said, "Noproblem.”

Within a blink of an eye, Sage and Hunter had decided and made the arrangement for Wayne. Nowords could describe how grateful he felt, so he just continued eating. After the meal, Sage and therest were ready to go to work.

Before she left, Sage told Wayne, “Grandpa, if you are feeling bored, you could listen to songs or dosome engraving. The workshop is open, and you are free to use any materials inside.”

Hunter had already stood by the side with the smart radio and was ready to pass it to Wayne,”Grandpa, you just need to speak out the music title or the singer's name, and it will automaticallyplay it. Let me teach you how to use it...” He patiently taught Wayne how to use the smart radio, and Wayne kept on nodding his head while his pupils widened.

“Oh... Oh... Oh... Even a radio can be so smart now and knows many songs.”

Leah chuckled and bent over in front of Wayne and took out two design drawings from her bag.“Grandpa, these are two designs that I had sketched recently. Can you please carve it out for mewhen you are free?”

Wayne took over the design drawings and laughed. “Okay, leave it to me. I saw the key

pendant you designed previously; it's good and full of life force.”

Sage heard it and pretended to cough. Wayne looked up and quickly said, “Of course, the skill ofthe jade carving master is very important too. Jade Master is definitely one of the most skillfulcarvers in the industry.”

It was obvious Wayne tried hard to make sure that no one was being treated unfairly, and thisaction of his had amused all three of them. Leah and Hunter tried hard to hide their smiles, whileSage, on the other hand, was laughing cheerfully. All three of them were afraid that Wayne was toobored at home and wanted to replace something for him to do.

On their way out, Hunter saw Sage was feeling a little down and whispered, “I think Grandpa wasstill feeling a little guilty and embarrassed to stay in Rosa Garden. He must not be willing to see howyou and your uncle fight, so the only thing he could do was to stay away from it. You should try tounderstand from his perspective. It's a big step for him to be willing to face all of these. It's not easy, you know.”

= Sage pressed her lips and understood what Hunter was trying to say. From her perspective,

there was nothing wrong with the way she handled it since her uncle was the one who did thewrong thing. However, from Wayne's perspective, it was totally a different thing. No matter whatBraxton and Zane did, they were still his son. A tiger, though cruel, would not devour its cubs. It wasnever easy to be the one who had to punish one’s own relations in the cause of justice. Moreover, she also did not wish to let Grandpa see the cruel and merciless side of her when it was the time tosettle the business with Braxton and Zane. That would only hurt Grandpa.

When they were in the car, Sage instructed, “Have someone clean up the house as soon as possibleand hire an honest and hardworking maid. She just needs to help Grandpa do some house chores, cook some food and wash the dirty laundry.”

Hunter responded and took out his notebook and noted it down. When his pen ran out of ink, hesubconsciously stretched his hand at Leah. “Leah, pass me a pen.”

"Oh, here you go.” Leah quickly took out a pen from her bag and passed it to Hunter. The processwas smooth like butter, and their teamwork was amazing.

Sage felt like someone had knocked her head hard with a rock when she looked at the two identicalpens and then looked at how Leah was admiring Hunter's scribbles writing like it was a piece of art.Chapter 367 Sage narrowed her eyes. “Are you two dating now?”

Leah and Hunter were stunned and looked up at the same time!

“I'd checked, and Mister Wayne is living in Rosa Garden now,” Yoel told Jace the latest informationhe received. After that, he took a puff from his cigarettes and continued, “Hey, do you think youneed to reconsider it over again?”

Jace had been pulling the all-nighter last night. There was a ring of black circles under his eyes. He,too, was smoking to re-energize. He looked at Yoel through the smoke and said with a hoarse voice,“Reconsider what?"

“That you are going to invite Grandpa Wayne to help Yuriel Jewel. Do you really think Sage willagree with it?”

Jace was Yoel's brother from a different mother, so he did not want to see Jace pass away at such ayoung age. Yoel tried to talk Jace out of it. “You should know how much Sage protects her family. She would just ignore you if you tried to set her up. However, if you try to trick her grandpa, she willdefinitely try to kill you according to her bad temper!”

Jace smiled bitterly like he had seen all of the cruelty in life. “I rather she tried to kill me or battle itout with me. I can’t stand her ignoring me like I am just another stranger to her.”

Yoel shook his head helplessly and said, “I think I finally know what a man looks like when he isdesperate. Look at how lowly you are right now.”

Jace did not refute or get angry, he even admitted, “Yeah, I also think that I am very desperate andlowly.”

Never had him been so desperate before. In addition, he could not help it at all, let alone controlhimself. It was like he was bedazzled. Even he himself could not understand what sort of feeling hehad, when and how it started. Probably it was just like the saying, love, a spark from nowhere toeternity, a www

As Jace had finished changing his clothes, Yoel blinked his eyes and asked, “Are you going to RosaGarden to visit Grandpa Wayne? Do you think he will let you in?”

sing his way

Jace said plainly, “I have my way. Bye.”

Yoel saluted and said, “Good luck!".

When Jace reached Rosa Garden, he informed his wishes to visit Wayne. In the end, as he predicted,Wayne actually let him in. Not only was he permitted to enter Rosa Garden, but Wayne even invitedhim to the workshop. When he saw Wayne, he felt like he was just meeting a very friendly elder.Wayne was not arrogant just because he was a jade carving master.

"So you are Mendoza's apprentice?” After Jace nodded in reply, Wayne continued, “I have alreadyplanned to go visit him soon. I didn’t expect him to send his apprentice to visit me first. Come, sitdown. Let me finish carving this hairpin for my granddaughter.”

As Wayne continued carving, Jace sat quietly beside him. He watched how Wayne uses the knife toskillfully carve the complicated flower pattern on the jade. He thought to himself, “Is this how Sagelooks like when she carves? Focused, conscientious and meticulous, as if there was only herself, theknife she held, the jade in her hand, and the end piece she finished left in the world.

When Wayne finished carving, he blew away the jade chips and was ready to polish the hairpin.Suddenly, he looked up and glanced at Jace. “Hey, you look very familiar. What's your full name?”
