A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 791
Chapter 791 Sage kicked everyone out of her office and turned off her phone.
She sat on the bay window with a thin cigarette between her fingers. She smoked in silence andmade one puff after another.
She had long sealed that horrible past of her in the deepest part of her memory. There were timeswhen she was reminded of it. She did not dare to recall the memories and always pretended thatshe had already gotten over it. However, she had not completely healed from the traumatizingexperience.
She had to admit that her experience at fourteen years old was still traumatizing. It was a woundshe dared not to touch easily.
Sometimes, she wondered. If Jace had not saved her, she might not have lived past that year. Herphysical wounds gradually healed after her parents took her home, but the wounds in her heartnever healed.
Whenever she closed her eyes, the image of the cramped cage, the horrible face, and the sharpsyringe would flash past her eyes. She also remembered the chains that tied her hands and feet andthe collar on her neck.
It was terrifying to be raised like an animal. Her dignity was trampled on and crushed. It washorrible!
Her mother, Primrose, escaped from the devil because she could not stand such a life. They wouldnever be able to get rid of this fear unless Shawn died!
She had been seeing a psychiatrist for four years. She received professional advice from fourteenyears old to eighteen years old. Her psychiatrist advised her to bury the darkness with light andactively seek the light in her darkest memories.
Therefore, she found Jace.
He was the man who carried her out of the devil's lair. Jace in the military uniform was as beautifulas the sun. He was the light in her dark world.
She desperately recalled his kindness like a flower drawing sunlight and rain. As a result, she fell inlove with him. Her love gradually grew into an obsession that got rid of the darkness in her heart. However, Jace was dead. He was gone from the world, and she was in darkness again.
Sage did not want to wait any longer. She wanted to go to the source of her trauma straight. Shewanted to fight Shawn to the end. She no longer cared about the consequences. She would fighthim at all costs, including her life!
Sage took a hard drag on the cigarette. Then, she put it out and picked up her trench coat. Whenshe was about to leave the office, Louis came to her. “Miss Sage, Mr. Yale called.” Sage brokeHunter's phone and turned her phone off. Yale had no choice but to call Louis to
reach her. Sage took the phone with a cold face. “Hello, Yale.”
“I'm going to pick you up now. Your office building isn't safe. Your brother just called me and askedyou to bring you back to Rosa Garden,” Yale said on the other end of the phone.
Sage furrowed her brow when she heard Yale mention Tim. “Where the h*ll is Tim Shelby? Yale, tellme."
Yale's hand on the steering wheel paused for a while. Sage was so desperate that she was callingTim by his full name. He said, “I'll tell you when we meet.” Sage was still in a bad mood after the callended. She returned the phone to Louis and headed for the elevator. Her two bodyguards followedclosely behind her and got into the elevator.
The building's main entrance and back entrance were inaccessible because of the crowd. They hadto use the direct elevator access to the underground parking lot.
Sage and Yale agreed to meet on basement floor one. When they got into the elevator, thebodyguards stood in front of Sage and pressed the button for basement floor one.
Sage turned her phone on. All she had in mind was to ask Yale about Tim's whereabouts later.
(U
Ding! The elevator arrived at the floor. As the elevator door opened, two men in black holding aspray aimed at the bodyguard's eye and attacked them.
"ARGH!!!" The two bodyguards covered their eyes and screamed in pain. Meanwhile, the two men inblack with sharp daggers in their hands attacked Sage!
