Chapter 793 Sage froze with one knee on the floor. The man leaned down and picked up Sage in hisarms. His low and strong voice sounded in her ears, “Sage, quickly get in the car now!” The manpulled open the door and carried Sage into the car.

He fired a few more shots at the assailants before jumping back into the car and driving away.Sage sat in the car stiffly. She even forgot to fasten her seat belt. She had a lot of goosebumps onher skin, but she was unsure whether it was from the pain or coldness.

No. She could no longer feel any pain. All that was left was a stiff body that was trembling andshivering in shock. “You're hurt!”

When the man picked her up early, he noticed the wound on her right arm. The wound was deepand might have ruptured an artery. He must rush her to the hospital for treatment as soon aspossible! He drove with one hand and handed his phone to Sage. He commanded, “Call Yale.”

Sage held the brand new black phone in her phone and looked stunned. She said in a daze, “I...don't know his number.” Who would memorize someone else's phone number in this day and age?The man glanced at her with gentle eyes. His voice softened, “Then whose number do youremember?”

When Sage met his eyes, her heart skipped a beat again. 'l only remember yours,” she thought inher mind. She memorized his number so deeply in her mind. She blocked the number once, butafter that, she saved the number on her phone again.

Sage did not answer him. Then, he asked, “Do you remember Rosa Garden's landline?”

She remembered her home number.

Sage called Rosa Garden as soon as she got back to her senses.

The men in black were still chasing them and trying to block the car's path. The man took the wheeland circled the underground parking lot while firing shots at them. Soon, the men in black werefinally stopped. Sage did not know whether the man had someone to help or if Mister Wandoquickly arranged for someone to come. At last, they were finally able to get out of the undergroundparking lot. Sage kept staring sideways at the man next to her on the way to the hospital. She was ina daze like her soul had left her.

She was completely dumbfounded.

After some time, she suddenly remembered a phrase she had seen in a book before. The world wasfull of people, but there would be one who would be your everything.

She looked at his side profile and suddenly recalled the first time she met him when she wasfourteen years old. As that scene flashed before her eyes, the two images began to overlap eachother.

The sunshine poured in through the car window and shone on his face.

He was her light.

Sage leaned back in the chair and slowly lifted her bloody hand. She wanted to grasp the hard wonlight in her hands.

The man sent her to the nearest hospital and got her wound treated. She had around eight stitcheson her wound. It would certainly leave a scar. Fortunately, the scratch on her face was not too bad.The doctor treated it and dressed it with tape.

The doctor did not give Sage an anesthetic throughout the treatment. Sage wanted to clear hermind from the pain and see if it was just a dream. After coming out of the doctor's room, Sage saton the bench quietly. When the man wanted to pay for the medical bill and collect the medicines, she grabbed him fiercely. “Don’t go.” She said, “Squat down.” The obedient man squatted down infront of her. He still had his mask and cap on. His eyes under the bring of his hat looked up slightlyat her with a steady gaze. He was very quiet, like he did not dare to talk much for fear of scaring her.Sage's right hand could not move, so she raised her left hand to remove his mask.

As she removed the mask slowly, the familiar and handsome face was revealed. The familiar namecame to her along with the wind.

Her eyes were red and teary. Finally, she slowly choked out his name. “J... Jace.”
