Chapter 819 Sage frowned and gave Yoel and Cole a cold glare. “Why don't you just beat him todeath?”. Yoel and Cole were stunned by her fierceness. They were unable to react and stared blanklyat Sage with a cigarette in their mouthi.

Jace listened to Sage defend him and felt sweet. He no longer felt any pain and kept smiling like anidiot.

"Yeah. It's so painful,” he muttered softly.

Sage glared back at Jace and told him, “You deserve it.” However, she could not help but slow downin her actions and treated his bruise gently,

Yoel and Cole were speechless and stunned. What was going on?! Why do they smell the scent oflove?

Sage left with the medical kit after treating Jace’s bruises. She left the three of them in the smallpavilion and gave them space to talk. That was very understanding of her.

Yoel, with his cigarette in his mouth, looked at Sage“s back and smacked his lips. “Hey. What's goingon? Why does Sage suddenly feel motherly?” Jace chuckled. “Isn't she always like this?”

Cole glanced at him. “Oh, come on. You may have amnesia, but not us. She used to want to murderyou whenever she saw you. How has she always been gentle like this?”

Yoel agreed. “Yeah! She's so gentle! That seemed like the perfect word to describe her.” He rubbedhis arms and said, “I never think I'd use this word to describe Sage. I have goosebumps now.”

“Isn“t this good?” Jace was smiling Yoel glared at him and scolded, “Stop pretending! Are you mybrother or not? Have you changed that much?”

Cole nodded in agreement. “Yeah. I rarely see you smile. Now you seem to be always smiling.” Jaceshook his head slightly and gave them a look as if he was saying, "You won't understand.’

It made Yoel so angry that he wanted to beat him up again.

Cole was not in the mood for that. He was more concerned about Jace. “What were you doing? I'mthe one who sent you to the hospital. I know how badly injured you were. Even if you want to fakeyour death, you dont have to make it so real. Besides, why do you want to fake your death?”

When Cole mentioned this, the smile on Jace's face slowly faded. He said, “I didn’t fake my owndeath. Even I thought I was really dead.”

He retold the story of his rescue, but he hid the whereabouts of Sage’s parents. After retelling thestory a few times, he could make the story seem logical.

Yoel and Cole frowned and felt sorry for Jace. They broke into a cold sweat and remained silent for along time. They silently smoked the cigarette. Soon, the ashtray was filled with a pile of

cigarette butts. “Alright.” Yoel puffed out the last of his smoke and twisted the butt in the ashtray.He looked up at Jace and said, “It's a blessing that you're still alive.” Cole said, “That's right! Let's nottalk about anything else. At least your relationship with Sage has improved a lot. I hope you'll winher this time.” Jace smiled. “Guys, thanks for the blessing.”

While they were talking, Sage finally returned with a serious look on her face. She seemed a littleanxious too.

Jace immediately greeted her, “What's wrong?” Sage said, “They're back in Salem City. Tim wantsme to go back right away.”
