“I'm jealous? Don't be ridiculous! Also, even if I do get jealous, it won't be for you,” said Sage."Hmph? If you don't get jealous because of me, who do you get jealous for?”

Sage was speechless.

She stuttered helplessly, “I... 1 don't get jealous because of anyone! I don't get jealous in

general!”

She stomped back to the kitchen.

Jace could not help but laugh as he watched her walking away.

Whether it was jealousy or not, Jace felt a stream of warmth within him.

Primrose did not have a free day ever since she got back, she was busy shopping with herdaughters—in-law every day.

Sage came home to mountains of shopping bags every day. Clothes, shoes, beauty products,jewelry, bags, and more. They might as well have bought the whole mall.

Primrose used to drag Sage to shop with her back in the day, but now that she had her daughters—in-law, Sage was no longer needed.

Suki and Laura would spend their time with Primrose, eating and shopping almost every day. Atfirst, Suki was worried that Primrose might not like her, but she quickly realized that her worrieswere for naught.

Sage and Suki looked pretty similar to each other, Primrose felt especially immersed when shewatched the movie as if Suki were her daughter.

Most people would worry about conflicts between the in-laws and always had to be cautiousaround them, but that was not the case for the Norahs'. Primrose did not once act like a mother —in-law, she was more playful than her daughters. She acted more like an elder sister in front ofthem, and the bonds between Primrose and her daughters-in-law were very strong.

Kane and Seth were overwhelmed by that, however. Their times with their wives were alreadylimited, they now had to split their alone time with their wives to their mothers as well.

Life was tough.

Sage became worried that her mother would go overbroad, during dinner with her family, sheannounced, “Mom, dad. I'm going to sort out the workload for Norah Group in the next couple ofdays, it's time for you two to go back to work. Your daughter, I, am working too hard for too long.It's time for me to take a break.” Primrose shook her head and said, “No way, a company thatchanges bosses so often is going to affect the employees badly.” “It's no big deal. Norah Group wasfounded by you guys anyway, it's not like I did anything.

Just manage it like how you used to,” said Sage.

“Times have changed, we've been gone from society for so long, it's hard for us to readjust to thecurrent trends and market. The Norah Group is going to be yours anyway, since you've been doingsuch a great job managing it, you should keep it up. We're just handing you the company slightlyearlier.”

Sage was at a loss for words.

She completely lost her appetite as she set her utensils down on the table and squinted at herparents. “What exactly are you implying?” Sawyer and Primrose exchanged a look before Sawyernodded for Primrose to continue,” Meaning, we don’t plan on going back to the scene.”

Sage was once again at a loss for words.

Her dream for freedom was shattered, and disappointment struck through her body like athunderbolt.

She shot a look at Sawyer and yelped, “Dad!” Sawyer cleared his throat and said, “Your mom's right,our times passed. We're getting old, it's time for you youngsters to take over.” Sage felt a stone inher chest as she asked, “What are you guys going to do?” Primrose chuckled mischievously andsaid, “Traveling the world with your dad.”

“I want to join!” Cried Sage.

“No way, go do that with someone else.”

Primrose looked at Sage with her puffed cheeks and said to her, “Don't look at us that way, we'vetalked about these with Jace.”

Sage was dumbfounded, “You've talked about this with who?!"
