A Relentless Pursuit for Love -
Chapter 842
Chapter 842 This time, Sage did not reject him as she was in a good mood. “We'll have Yoel join usthen. I still owe him a meal anyway.”
"Oh!" Jace whined, “Am I like the free item in the buy one free one?”
Sage laughed softly. “It's not that bad, is it?”
Jace pursed his lips. He looked as if someone wronged him.
Sage thought that it was an offense for Jace to act adorable in front of her.
Hence, she ignored him and continued watching the program. She used to enjoy watching this typeof interview show. As she would be able to learn some life lessons from another person's life storyor their point of view.
She had her legs crossed together for some time and her legs felt a little sore. Sage sucked in abreath and Jace asked, “Feeling a little numb? It's not good for your back if you stay sitting like thisfor a long time. Try leaning back.”
He grabbed a pillow and put it next to his lap, signaling for Sage to lie down, and took the phonefrom her hands.
“Lie down. I'll hold the phone.”
Sage responded, “Uhm, it's fine.”
She saw her dad treating her mom this way, but she never received such treatment.
“There's only fifteen minutes left before it ends. Let's finish it.”
Jace then patted the pillow next to him.
It could be that Jace’s low voice was slightly hypnotizing because Sage lied down as she was told.Jace then adjusted his arms so that Sage could see the screen.
The video was played.
Sage felt slightly embarrassed. Touching the tip of her nose, she murmured, “Be careful, don't let thephone drop.” “It won't.”
Jace added, “I'm holding it tightly, don’t worry.”I
Sage wondered to herself, “A tight hand grip..was it from all the training?’
Sage shook her head softly to get rid of the perverted thoughts sprouting in her mind. Jace noticedand asked, “Is it uncomfortable for you? Is the pillow too low?”
He then moved the pillow onto his lap so that Sage could sit up a little. After a bit of adjustment,Sage felt more comfortable in the new position. “Is this more comfortable?” Sage replied, “Mm,much more comfortable.”
Sage tapped her feet happily, not being able to hide the happy feelings of being able to lie in sucha comfortable position.
She had the sudden urge to send a video to her mother to let her know that she too was alsoreceiving the royal treatment.
In the second half of the interview, Sam stealthily brought up the photo that spread online likewildfire. The interview came to its highlight.
Jace and Sage paid full attention. Sam asked, “We found quite a few of your photos recently. Thephotos were rather controversial. May I know if you are the person in the photos?”
Sage responded, “Yes, it's me.”
Sam went on, “Are those pictures taken on set? I know that you're starring in the movie, The DoubleLife of Veronique, and you're playing that very role, right? They're quite a few similar scenes too ifI'm not wrong.”
Sage replied, “Those photos are taken from the set. I was kidnapped when I was fourteen. Thosephotos that you see online were taken by the kidnappers.” Sam exclaimed in surprise, “Kidnapped? It sounds like a scene from a movie. I didn't expect that you had to go through that in real life.”Sage responded, “Yeah. I didn't know that I would be going through that in real life too...”
She then started describing briefly the abduction — what happened before the abduction, during theabduction, and after the abduction. It was as if she filmed a documentary about her abduction.Listening to the narration, Sage started having flashbacks of those horrifying moments. She felt herentire body tense up.
"Sage? Sage..."
Jace realized that something was not right and called out to her. As if she awoke from a bad dream,Sage quivered in fear and sat up abruptly.
“It's alright. We don't have to see it anymore.”
Jace turned off the video and started comforting Sage. Just when he was about to put away thephone, Sage wrapped her arms around him. “Don’t go!"
