Absolute Chaos -
Chapter 31.
Temu’s ‘Rib of Chaos’ called to Amaunet, the darkest of sapphire light ruptured through the hard rocks of Otamia’s shattered hillside, crushing the cold stone into nothing.
As the dust settled, the light grew stronger, it was such a dark blue now it appeared black, pushing the soft dawns light from Otamia and covering it in an eerie deep blue glow. The rubble pulsed, tiny stones vibrated rapidly over its rocky surface, scattering over her bare feet.
Watching in horror, Am-heh emerged from the huge pile of stones, his white wings covered in grey dust and gravel, blood pouring from the side of his face and dripping down his massive chest.
One of his wings appeared broken, it hung awkwardly at his side, his forearm snapped beneath it. He did not hold the curved bone, yet she knew it was very close by.
The rage and disgust in his eyes was evident, the foul God looked right through Amaunet, straight through her soul.
Small rocks gathered in masses, spinning wildly into a twister of insane stone, tiny pebbles and dirt joined it, swirling within crazed loops. A dark blue light split through the tornado of stone, growing rapidly, sucking at the little rocks, turning and twisting like a giant enraged snake high above the mountain.
Fear or fury, Amaunet could not decide which emotion was worse exploded inside her. From inside the twister rose the King of Otamia, raging with power spinning amid the twisters harsh core. He held Temu’s ‘Rib of Chaos’ above him, it vibrated excitedly in his hand, his eyes in a place far away from the present, gazing at is brilliance with perplexing glee and wonder.
Their eyes locked for a single moment and both Amaunet and Am-heh leapt faster than lightening to Araphel’s side.
Even with a broken wing the putrid God was lightning quick, Amaunet did not have the advantage of her wings on the outside, however they shot through her shoulder blades with such incredible force that her bones shattered into thousands of tiny pieces around her, then instantaneously dissolved back into her flesh. The fierce pain was exquisite, pushing her to move even faster, propelling her forward, reaching Araphel as Am-heh did.
The whirlwind grew in intensity, spinning wildly beneath him, forcing Otamia’s ‘great’ King higher into the air. The beautiful blue light had consumed the whole city, Amaunet could feel Temu’s rib searching for her spirit, silently calling to her soul.
The wind now sucked her into the huge vortex that spun under Araphel. She didn’t think she had the strength to force her way above it, spying Am-heh at the corner of her eye, he too was struggling to reach Raijen’s foul father, his broken wing further impeding his efforts.
Amaunet somehow managed to break from the twisters cruel grip and climb towards the despicable king. Araphel was again distracted by the sleek grey bone, trying desperately to absorb its intense power.
As she reached Temu’s glowing rib, Am-heh was beside her, both of them desperately snatching at the absolute Chaos.
Caught completely off guard, so absorbed by the stunning object he held, he did not see that the two Deities had escaped the whirlwind of rock he had created below.
Araphel dropped the curved bone into the raging stone twister and toppled in straight after it.
The Goddess flew head long down into the eye of the freezing twisting wind, Am-heh right at her heels. It was falling to the Earth, its light splintering and twisting as it spun.
Araphel screamed, his hands flew to his ears as the Chaos consumed him. She watched him disappear below her, further into the frantic spinning storm.
Amaunet needed to reach Temu’s rib before it hit the ground or all of Otamia would become a vast wasteland of nothing, no one would survive its mighty wrath if it smashed into Mother Earth.
Her sleek grey wings stayed straight behind her, diving head first towards the ground, just managing to get a grip on the curved bone before it hit the rocks below.
As soon as Amaunet had hold of Temu’s rib, Am-heh froze in mid flight, abruptly changed direction and flew towards the sun.
The whole of Otamia and the lands beyond the Nile heard Am-heh’s sheer roar, the anguish and insanity spewing from his fetid core.
The extraordinary Goddess landed, instantly stopping the enormous twister that Araphel had so recklessly created from the ribs great power.
Closing her huge sapphire eyes, she now let the sweet heat swell in glorious waves of pure divinity.
Temu’s smooth bone was glowing a brilliant deep blue in her small fist, her own ‘Rib of Chaos’ sparking alight inside her. The dark sapphire light pulsed throughout Amaunet’s flesh, the unique code inside moving within her Divine blood, leaving her breathless.
Amaunet looked across at her friends, they all stood in awe. There were dozens upon dozens of Otamians coming out from the surrounding rocks and huts that had fallen, more and more people making their way up towards her from lower down the hillside.
Slowly, Amaunet spread her wings at her sides, the thin tattoo that graced her pale flesh splintered into a deep blue light, surrounding her in a gorgeous azure glow, whilst been showered with cool blue magnificence.
Without another thought, Amaunet thrust Temu’s sleek silver rib inside of her flesh, forcing it into the wound under her breast. The agony ripping into her skin, splintering her soul and tearing at her mind.
Temu’s rib now found hers, merging with Amaunet’s, healing her beautiful curved bone, knitting the sleek splintered rib back together.
Streams of crimson sprayed from her flesh in great gushes, splattering Raijen and her new friends. Temu’s ‘Rib of Chaos’ was now safe, it may not have been in its true cage, but it was at least inside a primordial Deity, a Goddess of the eight Divine.
The Earth shook again beneath them, although it did not crack the ground this time, Amaunet had total control of the Chaos that was swelling inside.
The noise grew from a rumble to a roar, she lifted her magnificent wings in an elegant arc, her whole essence absorbing the dark blue light, embodying the air around them.
The astonishing Goddess stood before the people of Otamia, her dark irises swimming beyond this world. Amaunet threw her head to the infinite skies above and screamed out to her creator.
Every Otamian fell to their knees, weeping great tears as they watched the deeply profound sight.
Then faster than a meteor that had torn through Earths tainted atmosphere, the mighty Goddess flew after Am-heh and into the harsh morning light.
