Chapter 7 Quit? No!

They planned to go shopping. But after learning that Raynard was looking for the woman, they were not in the mood.

After returning to the dorm, they were down in spirits.

Janine lay on the sofa in the bedroom. “Gwyneth, let’s quit!”

Gwyneth turned to Janine. “No. I need to pay almost 3,000 dollars in loans. I can’t quit!”

Janine’s face darkened.

She punched the pillow in her arms and couldn’t cool down.

“How about you sell the apartment?” Janine looked at Gwyneth.

Without mortgage loans to pay, it would be feasible to quit. As long as Gwyneth quit, Janine wouldn’t be in trouble.

It sounded selfish but would save them!

Gwyneth said, “I can’t sell it because I bought it no more than one year ago.”

In Harbor City, people could only sell their real estate with two years of ownership. Janine felt desperate.

Gwyneth needed to pay almost 3,000 dollars of loans every month. And all her cards had been kept by her father.

He said she could not go home unless she learned something in the Fletcher Group.

Gwyneth was born with a silver spoon. But she supported herself.

Anyway, neither of them could afford to quit.

They looked at each other nervously.

They pondered and decided to keep it a secret. “Be careful then!”

“I have an idea!” As soon as she finished speaking, Gwyneth looked at her excitedly. “I can apply for a transfer to another department!”

Janine’s face darkened. “Did you remember that Mr. Fletcher assigned your current job to you?”

Gwyneth was an assistant in the Commerce Department before. It was Raynard who found her and made her his assistant.

All the female employees thought that he liked her.

But then, they found that Gwyneth only worked here and had nothing else to do with him. So the rumors ceased.

Although there was nothing between them, Raynard gave Gwyneth her job.

If she wanted to work in another department, she might need more than the Human Resources Department’s permission.

Hearing this, Gwyneth put on an unhappy face. “What are we gonna do?”

Thinking that Raynard was still trying to replace that woman, Gwyneth didn’t know how to face him.

Janine said, “You can only play the fool.”

“But I am scared!” Gwyneth cried.

Jannie looked at her. She didn’t understand why Raynard would assign Gwyneth to the position.

She snorted, “I’m scared too. You know what, I’ll be in trouble if he replaces it out. So pull yourself together!”

They discussed but found no way out. Gwyneth had to bite the bullet.

Gwyneth cried, which made Janine feel sorry for her. “Come on. Just hold on!”

She cried harder and shook all over her body.

To comfort her, Janine bought her delicious food in the evening. Finally, Gwyneth cooled down.

The next day, Gwyneth was persuaded to go to work.

The elevator was crowded in the morning. Gwyneth waited for a long time but failed to squeeze in.

She checked the time. She was going to be late!

So anxious, she recalled that Raynard arrived half an hour earlier every day. She bit the bullet and walked to the elevator for the president.

The elevator rose from the basement. With a ding-dong, the doors were open. She wanted to get in subconsciously.

But she was shocked when she saw the man in the elevator!

“M-Mr. Fletcher…”

She regretted it a lot.

Raynard glanced at her coldly, saying nothing.

She turned around subconsciously. Just as she moved her feet, she heard Darron say behind Raynard, “Ms. Maynard, come in!”

Darron knew Gwyneth was afraid of Raynard. But they had worked together for a long time. She didn’t relax at all. Instead, she seemed more and more timid!
