After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities -
Chapter 915
Chapter 915
Jasper drove out of the hospital and headed straight to the airport, speeding past beautiful scenery while his heart floated like a feather in the Aegean Sea.
It had been a long time since he last saw Evie. The little girl had been helping teach children martial arts over at Middle Evroya and rarely came back home. So when she agreed to come back this time, he was overjoyed.
With half an hour left until the plane landed, Evie sat by the window seat, gazing at the clouds outside. It was noon and sunlight pierced through thin clouds, shining with dazzling golden light that hurt her eyes. She wasn't sitting in business class but economy class instead. Though conditions weren't as good as business class, she felt everything was fine because she had seen a familiar figure when boarding. She immediately grabbed an elderly man's arm and asked if he would be willing to switch seats with her.
The old man's family didn't hesitate to agree once they heard it was for business class since his health wasn't great either.
After landing later on, Evie planned on getting off quickly. Luckily she only brought one small suitcase so there wouldn't be any need for checked baggage.
She kept checking her watch every now. Waiting for ten more minutes, hearing sweet voices from flight attendants, passengers were reminded about disembarking procedures soon after landing safely. Finally! She could get off now!
Evie hurriedly grabbed her luggage and walked outside when Eudora and Teun's family who just stepped out of business class saw a familiar figure wearing a red Lolita dress full of dreamy romance from behind in economy class.
Teun frowned, "Isn't that Evie?"
Eudora sneered, "Look at how poor she looks; it's no wonder why she can only sit in economy."
Walt held their baby while Mrs. Anto still held onto their milk bottle looking lovingly towards them, "What are you two looking at?"
Teun pouted towards where Evie disappeared, "We ran into bad luck."
"Eudora managed to give birth thanks to some of Evie's blood; try being more restrained when you're outside." Mrs. Anto looked down lovingly towards Walt holding the sleeping baby.
"Okay, let's go." Walt didn't say anything, he just held his child tightly in his arms.
"Eudora, this is our family's first trip after you were born. Don't always go and see those boring people," Mrs. Anto said with emphasis as she patted her daughter's hand.
Eudora grinned mischievously and said, "But Aunt Evie hasn't even met the child yet! We're family after all, it would be rude not to meet them."
Mrs. Anto hesitated for a moment and then said, "You're right, let's hurry up."
So the Anto family got off the plane and marched forward in a grand manner.
Evie walked quickly, her stomach turning sour at the thought of the Anto family. But the faster she walked, the closer the people behind her seemed to get, especially Teun who ran up to block her path. "Evie, why are you running so fast? You almost made me unable to catch up with you."
Evie looked at Teun, who was dressed in a bohemian-style long dress, and wondered how she could run so fast and catch up with her while still looking so elegant and ladylike. She had a wry smile on her face as she said, "Teun, long time no see."
She really doesn't want to see these people with the surname Anto. Every time she sees them, she feels like the air instantly becomes foul and at least three years of her life will be shortened. "Evie." Mrs. Anto's voice rang out, gentle and kind, but to Evie's ears it sounded like the voice of a devil.
The smile on her face became even more rigid, and she slowly lifted her gaze to Mrs. Anto. Mrs. Anto looked down at her as if she were an ant or a bug, and even a single glance was filled with pity. She walked up to Evie and warmly grasped her hand, "You child, don't you know how to come back home once you've left? Your sister has even had a baby and yet we haven't seen you come back." The child... Evie's face turned pale as she instantly recalled something. Last year at the auction, she had seen Isaac attend with Eudora, and the jade pendant from the Evans family had caused a heated dispute between Clare and the Evans family.
At that time, Eudora was pregnant!
Her heart felt like it had been hit by a blunt hammer, hard and painful enough to almost cause spasms.
Walt walked over with the baby in his arms and poked the smooth and tender little face of the infant with his slightly rough fingers. "Cristopher Carr, wake up quickly and meet your Aunt Evie."
"So this child is Isaac Carr's?" she thought.
She looked at Evie as if she had just noticed her, and playfully tapped her non-sour leg. "Evie, next week is my son's full month celebration. You better remember to come! After all, you're the child's aunt. If you don't come, the child will be sad."
Evie laughed sarcastically. "No need, I have something else going on."
She glanced at the baby in Walt's arms and transferred 888 dollars to him on Facebook. "This is for the baby gift."
Walt handed the baby over to his wife and looked at the transfer of 888 dollars with anger rising from his head. "Evie, who are you trying to disgust? This amount is too little for a gift!"
Evie raised an eyebrow; although she wasn't tall in stature, she was still very imposing. "Considering everything that has been done to me by your family members, giving 888 dollars is already showing fondness for your child who did nothing wrong. If it were any of you? Not even a penny!"
Eudora had hoped to see disappointment or jealousy on Evie's face during this Versailles-like event.
It would have been satisfying.
However, instead of seeing sadness or disappointment in Evie's eyes - she was actually being arrogant!
It made Eudora furious!
She didn't even bother pretending anymore; with a disgusted expression on her face she said, "Are you jealous because this is Isaac's and my child so that's why you gave such a small amount? You really lool down upon people!"
"Giving gifts shows affection while not giving anything shows obligation." Evie felt like talking back to these Anto family members was pointless! "Are we done here? Once we're finished talking I'm leaving." "You must attend our full month celebration!" Walt stared coldly at her with an authoritative tone that left no room for argument - as if he could break her legs immediately if she refused.
"Who are you?" Evie's eyes filled with coldness as if covered by frost flowers in mid-winter when looking towards Walt. "Do you think I'm still foolish enough like when I was young after leaving the Anto family?" "It's impossible," She then turned towards Eudora. "Do you think having given birth means everything will be smooth sailing from now on? If the Carr family really valued your worthiness, why haven't they married into their family yet?"
Isaac was heartless!
She saw through him long ago.
"Evie." Suddenly a magnetic voice rang out, causing everyone present to look up toward it.
As Evie walked towards the airport exit, she saw a tall man holding a bouquet of flowers quickly approaching her.
Eudora looked at Jasper with an unpleasant expression on her face. He was Franklin's right-hand man and the son of the Howlett family, which made it even more frustrating that he was running errands for them.
Jasper handed the bouquet to Evie with a shy and awkward smile. The 99 red roses were vibrant and fragrant, but not overwhelming.
Evie smiled sweetly at him, blushing pink on her cheeks. It was her first time receiving flowers from a guy, but she felt happy about it.
She accepted the flowers and held them close to her chest while closing her eyes to take in their scent. Jasper took hold of Evie's luggage as he admired how cute she looked in her red Lolita dress paired with white short-sleeved shirt underneath and Lolita shoes along with knee-high white socks.
He asked gently, "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"
"I want crawfish, skewers, barbecue... and duck neck!" Evie rattled off all the foods she missed from China since being away for so long.
Walt interrupted their conversation by trying to impress Jasper about his company's projects hoping they could partner up together."
Jasper glanced over at Walt before saying, "I'm sorry but I'm not interested."
His words hit Walt like a slap in the face, causing him pain, yet he remained calm instead of lashing out immediately.
Walt then turned his attention towards Evie, hoping that their friendship would sway Jasper into reconsidering his offer. "Since you're friends with Evie, maybe we can work something out?"
"I am good to those who are good to me especially when it comes down treating my friends well too," replied Jasper coolly before adding "But those who treat my friends poorly such as using them like blood bags will have consequences."
The Anto family all had grim expressions upon hearing this last statement from Jasper, realizing that he knew what they did or tried doing behind closed doors.
Jasper glanced at Eudora again. "Your body carries Evie's blood, doesn't it feel great? If it weren't for Evie, you wouldn't even be able to have children. But some people in this world are just so vile and two- faced. I suggest Miss Eudora say thank you to Evie."
