Chapter 967

"It looks like many guests have arrived early." Sylvia smirked as she opened the door and got out of the car.

Franklin put his arm around her waist. "Let's head to the elevator."

The elevator stopped at the lobby on the first floor. Sylvia and Franklin stepped out of the elevator and walked towards Clare, who was welcoming guests at the entrance.

"Sylvia, Franklin?" Clare saw the couple and immediately greeted them, "You're here?"

"Uncle looks very handsome today." Sylvia looked at Clare with a smile on her face. "Well, of course, how could I be with your aunt if I wasn't handsome?" Clare joked.

The young masters of the Gibson family also came forward to greet Franklin.

"It's getting late. Zechariah will stay here to wait for a few latecomers. Let's all go inside." Emiliano, being the elder brother, made the arrangements and went to the banquet hall on the second floor with Franklin.

Inside the banquet hall, the main table was occupied by Old Mrs. Hipps, Jasmine and her husband, Old Mr. Gibson, and several ladies from the Gibson family.

As they were about to become in-laws, it was natural for them to sit at the main table.

Unexpectedly, when Old Mrs. Hipps and the others saw Sylvia and Franklin, they waved at them. "Sylvia, Franklin, come sit here."

The table was round and could seat twelve people. Sylvia and Franklin walked over together. She smiled, "Grandma, let the two of us sit here, where will Uncle and Aunt sit?"

"They are entertaining guests today and need to pour drinks. They don't have time to come and sit with us." Old Mrs. Hipps smiled as she and Old Mr. Hipps, dressed in maroon outfits, looked quite joyful.

Old Mr. Gibson wore a black suit while the rest of the guests were dressed in festive shades of red. After all, the Gibson family only had one daughter, and the sons from other families were all present. Now that the Gibson family was about to be engaged to the famous Hipps Family, the guests attending were all affluent and distinguished.

Cody and Mrs. Wright brought Brayden and Jenna, and when they saw Sylvia, they quickly approached her. They had all been busy lately but were now catching up eagerly.

After chatting for a while, Darius arrived with Isabelle, and Bethany's family of three were enjoying themselves.

Many familiar faces were present at the banquet, including Carolyn, Kareem, and Katie, making the event even livelier.

Clare looked regal in a white suit, resembling a prince on a white horse.

Mollie, in a pristine white dress and high heels, complemented each other perfectly in appearance and aura.

Upon seeing Sylvia, people couldn't help but exclaim, "So beautiful!"

"Mollie... I mean, Sylvia," Mollie chuckled, struggled to change her address. "You look gorgeous today."

"Auntie, you are the most beautiful one." Sylvia smiled. "I wish you all the happiness."

Several young men couldn't help but glance at Sylvia from time to time. She was so beautiful that she almost resembled a fairy descended from heaven.

Mollie, on the other hand, exuded a fiery beauty akin to a thorny rose.

Sylvia's beauty, however, had a divine air to it, making her appear ethereal and aloof, like a fairy.

The engagement between the Gibson family and the Hipps Family received many blessings but also stirred jealousy among some.

Although everyone appeared happy and full of blessings, little did Mollie know that she had become an eyesore to some.

While chatting with Jenna, a glass of red wine suddenly splashed from behind her.

Unaware, she continued standing there, but Clare, who had been with her, immediately reacted and pulled Mollie aside.

She was almost splashed all over, but as the guest of honor that evening, it would have been embarrassing if her clothes got wet and stained.

Startled, Mollie looked up and saw that the perpetrator had already fled.

From the back, it seemed like the daughter of the McGuire family who had managed to make it into the entertainment industry through various means?

Not having had any interaction with her before, Mollie furrowed her brows in displeasure.

"Don't mind her, she's always a bit crazy." Clare had heard gossip about Katie and quickly reassured her companion.

Not taking any chances, he followed Mollie closely. Where she went, Clare followed.

Jenna, however, looked at Katie's back with suspicion. "She's classmates with Brayden. She seems to always like..."

Braydan. Why had she now set her sights on Clare?

"Never mind her." Mollie sighed. "When are you having the wedding?"

"Soon, we'll let you know when it's time." Jenna blushed.

Katie, holding a glass of wine, fled the scene in distress. Her initial plan was to pour it on Jenna to embarrass her, but her hand shook, sending the liquid splashing towards Mollie instead. Taking a deep breath, as she tried to calm herself, a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder, and before she could react, a cold liquid splashed on her face. Wiping the water off, she angrily shouted, "What are you doing! Are you insane?"

"You're the crazy one." A familiar voice spoke, and she turned to see a painted face standing with an elegant blue dress, holding a highball glass and staring coldly at her. Carolyn, with a high-heeled appearance, continued, "I'll tell Dad that you're bullying me, Carolyn!"

"If I see you doing anything disgusting, I won't hesitate to have the security throw you out." Caroline's voice was cold, looking down at Katie. "Don't disgust others with vile acts and tarnish the reputation of the McGuire family."

"What do you mean by that?" Katie's momentum weakened, realizing that Carolyn might have seen her attempt to pour water.

"The literal meaning. If you're here for the banquet, behave properly. Otherwise, I won't mind taking you to Miss Howlett to apologize!" After a glance, Carolyn turned and walked away, leaving Katie bewildered. How could the McGuire family have such a foolish member?!

Enraged, Katie stomped her foot.

As she thought more about it, ever since Kareem had driven a wedge between her and Carolyn, he had distanced himself, revealing his true colors.

In reality, Katie wanted to mend her relationship with Carolyn, but being someone with low emotional intelligence, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

As a result, her relationship with Carolyn had deteriorated, culminating in Carolyn splashing water in her face.

Tears streamed down Katie's face, and Kareem, who had been lurking in the corner, grinned smugly, witnessing the dispute between the two women.

After Katie emerged from the restroom, having wiped her face clean, he sneaked up to her, "Katie, why do you look unhappy?"

"Kareem, don't think I don't know what a scheming person you are." Katie glared irritably at him. "Well, you're satisfied now. As long as Carolyn is here, the McGuire family won't let you dominate!"

"I see you're only bold in front of me. Be brave in front of Carolyn too! Let's see if your pocket money will continue to shrink." Kareem spoke with sarcasm and disdain in his tone.

"You'll regret it one day. You've set me up against Carolyn, and she won't forgive you!" Katie exploded in anger, shoving Kareem.

Kareem was taken aback and stepped back a few paces. Considering the crowded surroundings, he smirked slyly, said nothing, then turned and walked away.

No one noticed the malicious look in his eyes.

The engagement banquet quickly came to the climax. After exchanging engagement rings, the host announced the start of the banquet.

Guests took their seats, and the atmosphere turned festive, with everyone enjoying the evening.

By late night, around ten o'clock, guests began to leave one by one.

Sylvia, Franklin, and Jasper also left in their car. As they approached an underground tunnel, they heard a loud crash ahead.

Jasper slammed the brakes as the car came to a stop by the roadside.

It was late at night, and although there weren't many cars on the road, the collision had caused some traffic congestion.

"Young master, madam, it seems there's been a car accident ahead."

"Let's go check." Franklin opened the car door, and Sylvia followed suit.

As more cars stopped and people got out to observe, Sylvia, Franklin, and Jasper squeezed into the crowd only to hear a woman's screams, "Blood, so much blood!" "Help, save me!"

Sylvia furrowed her brows slightly as a strange light flashed in her water-like eyes, "This voice sounds somewhat familiar."

Pushing through the crowd, she saw a BMW and a Volkswagen involved in a collision. The driver of the Volkswagen had just crawled out of the vehicle, while the driver of the BMW was unconscious with a bloodied face.

A woman in the back seat of the car was covered in blood, trying to free herself from the seat as the door was jammed shut, unresponsive.

Not only that, her leg was trapped in the gap between the seats.

Despite the prior severe impact, her head was injured, and her arms and legs were hurt.
