Chapter 7
As they escorted me in, my dreams of love and family shattered into bitter hatred. My fantasies of a hopeful future were replaced by a consuming rage toward those who betrayed me.
When asked why I was there, I remained silent, which made me an easy target. At first, I endured only verbal attacks, but soon the inmates‘ leader orchestrated a campaign of isolation against me. I was forced to sleep on the cold floor and given only scraps of food. The relentless cruelty of the inmates was unbearable. Their numbers overwhelmed me, and my individual strength was no match for their collective brutality. They would grab my hair and slam me against the wall, a constant reminder of their power.

Eventually, the prison guards, recognizing the severity of the situation, placed me in solitary confinement.
Days blurred together in a haze of confusion and despair, intensified by the dual betrayals of love and family, and the relentless torment of body and soul.
Terrifying thoughts consumed me as I feared an execution that might come sooner than expected. My consciousness ebbed away, and the chaotic noise of my surroundings was the last thing I felt before slipping into darkness. Despite everything, there was still a chance they might save me.

Upon seeing me awake, she began with a cruel smirk, “Aria, don’t blame me for this. It was your brother and Soren who made you take the fall for me. I never said a word from beginning to end.”
I could barely lift my eyelids, my strength failing me. Misinterpreting my silence, she continued, “Do you really think my hand was truly broken back then? Look, I can still play the piano.” She seated herself and began playing one of my own compositions on a piano she had evidently

brought into the hospital room.
I watched in disbelief, my eyes wide, struggling to replace my voice. Elara seemed to relish my reaction. “I bribed that doctor too,” she
continued, her tone dripping with malice. “Who told you to be more talented than me? The teacher always favored you. As long as you’re around, I’ll never win any awards. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for getting in my way. I just used a little trick, and they believed me. And with these two,” she gestured dismissively toward the door, “you can only consider yourself unlucky.”
With a triumphant laugh, she turned and left, her footsteps fading as she walked away. I could only watch her retreating figure, tears streaming down my face, powerless to respond.
