Previously

I take Evan and feed him, then do the same with Maeva. I'll put Maeva to bed and Fabien will put Evan to bed with her.

-We'll go and buy everything we need for the twins tomorrow.

I nod and go to sleep in our bed, I'm exhausted.

-Good night, sweetheart.

-Good night my love, I love you.

-I love you too.

Then we fall asleep.

Present

I wake up in my soulmate's arms, the twins are jumping on our bed, they are now 11 years old.

-I'm hungry, Mummy! cries Evan.

Maeva comes over to me and kisses me on the forehead, and that's when I realise that she's going to make an excellent luna.

-Did you sleep well, Mum? she asks me calmly.

I put her on my lap.

-Fine, and you?

-Yes, are we going to school this morning?

-Yes, sweetheart, but you're going to pack school, so it'll just be Zack, Thea, Josh and Taylor.

-Cool, Thea's here!

Suddenly my little Evan raises his head when he hears Thea's name, and Fabien and I think they're soul mates, but we won't know for a few years. Fabien gets up and puts his little alpha on his lap. -You're not going to school today," begins Fabien, "I'm going to train you all day.

-Again? We did that three days ago!

-Do you want to become a good alpha? my husband asks more sternly, releasing part of his aura.

Evan bows his head in submission, Fabien growls.

-Don't bow your head Evan! You're an alpha, you never put your head down!

He raises his head and I see tears running down his cheeks. Fabien smiles contentedly, but I take Evan from him and console him.

"You've been deprived of s*x for four days! I say to my husband telepathically.

"Why?"

"You make Evan cry and then you're proud of yourself! I can't believe it!

I get up and go and feed the children while Fabien sulks in our room, that'll teach him a lesson.

-I'm going to take Maeva to school, I'll be back later and you look after Evan," I shouted to Fabien. And if I come back and he tells me you made him cry, you're grounded for a week!

I go outside with Maeva when I get hit on the head, hear my daughter shout my name, then black hole.

Maeva POS

I look at my mum lying on the ground, some men pick her up and put her in the car, then one of them comes up to me and puts me on his shoulders.

-DAD! I shouted.

He throws me into the car and I see my father come running, but it's too late, we're long gone. I turn my head and see blood running down her head, so I use my powers to heal her. "Maeva, darling, where are you? asks my dad.

"I don't know, Dad, some men came and knocked Mum's head, there was blood on her head, but I healed her.

"That's good princess, now I want you to listen to me carefully, the men who took you are Jack's men, you remember Jack don't you?"

"Yes daddy."

"All right, so your mum and I didn't tell you to protect you, you're the soul mate of Jack's son, Noah and he's going to try and brand you. Don't let him do anything to you, I taught you to stand up for yourself, so stand up for yourself. Above all, don't look him in the eye, darling, do it for daddy, don't look him in the eye."

"OK dad, are you going to come and get us?"

"Yes darling, soon, but you have to be careful before I get there."

"I promise, Dad."

"I love you sweetie."

"I love you too, Daddy."

Suddenly the car stopped and two men approached me. They each took one of my arms and other men took my mother. My feet didn't touch the ground and I saw a man and a boy a little older than me at the end of the path. When I reach them, the guards let go of me and step back.

-Maeva, how are you?

-I'm not doing too well at the moment, of course, because I see you and your pitiful son, but I'm usually fine.

-The same behaviour as your mother, like mother like daughter!

-At least my mother educated me, which doesn't seem to be the case with you!

I replace myself pinned against a tree, breathless.

-Watch how you talk to my dad!

-I'll talk to him any way I want, a*****e!

He slaps me and I open my eyes, surprised, I meet his gaze and the world stops around us. Shit, Dad told me not to open my eyes. -Mine," he growls.

-Butterfly, I'm not yours and I don't accept the link, I'm only eleven already, you're going to have to calm down Noah.

-How do you know my name?

-I know a lot of things you don't even know about yourself and one thing's for sure, you've forgotten that I was like my mother.

I make a protective ball with my hands, my mother inside and no one can get inside.

"Don't come, Dad, there's no point, I'm in complete control of my powers and Mum's waking up, she'll help me.

"Alright darling, I'm proud of you, we'll have to talk when you get back."

I turn to my mother.

-Mum?

I give her a little shake and she wakes up.

-Will you help me with your powers so we can get out of here?

She nods and motions with her arms, then we're carried away from them. When we arrive, my brother jumps on me and my father jumps into my mother's arms. -Maeva? my mother called.

-Maeva?

-I heard you talking to them and what you said was very good, it was cheeky and I'm proud that you're my daughter.

-Like your mum, I've decided to send you to another pack for the time being, Maeva, I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you, all right?

-Yes, Daddy..." I said, bowing my head sadly.

-Don't be sad princess," says my brother, "we'll be seeing a lot of each other.

I nod and go to pack.

-Where am I going to go?

-You're going to a pack nearly three hours away.

-And why does Noah say I'm his soul mate?

-It's complicated, but Noah's not your real soul mate, it's just a spell that's been put on us, your mum and I are going to try and replace a way to sort it out OK? I nod and give my family a hug.

-See you in a bit?

-Of course, darling, we'll see you very soon and when we've managed to break the spell, you'll come back here.

I smile at them and get into the car, ready for a new life.
