I laugh and make room for him in the bed, he lies down and I put my head on his chest and he puts his hand on my stomach, making little circles.

-I love you Kyle.

We kiss and fall asleep in each other's arms. It's at times like this that I realise how important he is in my life and that I'd never want to lose him. I love him with every fibre of my being and would do anything for him and my child. Present

When I wake up, Kyle's not with me, so I get up and go into the bathroom to get dressed. I can finally get out of here! After changing, I go back to the bedroom where Kyle is, with muffins and bananas. I run up to him and grab the muffins out of his hands. -No hello, no kiss?

-No, I'm hungry.

I finish eating and then we leave the hospital.

-Kyle?

-Kyle.

-Did you tell the pack I was pregnant?

-No, not yet, I wanted you to be there with me when I did.

I nod and a few minutes later we arrive at the house. When I open the door, the whole pack is there, and I look at Kyle without understanding.

"I called them in to tell them the news."

"Okay."

We walk towards them.

-So if I've called you here, it's to tell you the big news.

He turns to me, grabs my waist and puts his hand on my stomach.

-Maeva is pregnant.

Everyone screams with joy, jumping up and down to congratulate us. Especially Léna and Josh.

-Congratulations, I'm so happy to be a grandmother!

I laugh slightly and give her a hug.

-You'll make a great mum.

She smiles at me and hugs her son.

-You're going to take good care of your child, I hope?

He laughs.

-Don't worry, Mum.

Everyone's leaving the house.

-I'm so hungry!

I head for the kitchen and look for something to eat.

-Kyle? Kyle? Do we have any crisps?

-I don't think so, do you want some crisps?

-No, I don't think so, although the cheese ones are really good...

-I'll go and get you some crisps.

-No, it's fine.

I keep looking for something to eat, but there's nothing in this house. Kyle comes back with three bags of cheese crisps and two big bowls of ice cream. I jump up and give him a hug. -You're the best!

I grab a bag and head into the living room. I'm starting to eat my chips when Kyle comes in and sits down next to me.

-So how are your chips?

I nod.

-I love you," he says.

He kisses me.

-Me too, do you know what punishment my mum used to give my dad when he was too hard on me or my brother? -She hit him with a broom?

I'm joking, I've got this image of my mother running after my father with a broom in her hands, it's so funny.

-No, he was s*x deprived.

He stops moving.

-You wouldn't do that, would you?

-Why not? I think it's a great idea.

He grunts.

-Well, I don't.

I laugh and plunge my hand into the bag of crisps, but there's nothing left.

-I've finished the bag!

Kyle laughs.

-I'm going to get fat!

-Even fat, you'll be the most beautiful woman in the world.

-So you're saying I'm gonna get fat! That's right, I'm gonna get fat.

I'm starting to cry, bloody hormones!

-Stop crying, darling, it won't do any good.

I glare at her and say, crying:

-Do you really think I'm crying my own gray? It's the hormones, Kyle, the hormones.

I huff and puff, get up and throw the bag in the bin.

-I'm going to take a bath and go to bed.

-Okay, I have to finish some things in my office, so if I'm not in bed when you go to bed, it's not because I'm dead.

-What a shame.

He comes up to me and whispers in my ear.

-Say that again?

-It's OK, I didn't say anything.

-I'd rather you didn't.

He lets go of me and I get into the bath.

*Two week eclipse

I wake up in the middle of the night with a massive stomach ache.

He wakes up with a start and picks me up like a princess before carrying me out to the car. He speeds off to the pack hospital and I'm taken straight into care. They give me a series of tests and after a couple of hours I walk out of the examination room and into a bedroom. Kyle and I wait for the results.

-I'm scared, Kyle.

A tear rolls down my cheek, he kisses my forehead and pats my back.

-And if I've done something and the baby dies, that means I've killed my baby...

-Don't worry, Maeva, you've done everything right.

The doctor enters the room, two hours later.

-What's going on, Maeva? Is the baby all right?

-The baby's fine, don't worry, but it's you.

I can't breathe.

-What's...what's wrong with me?

-The baby's very strong, your boy's a witch and a werewolf.

-So a hybrid," says Kyle.

I nodded.

-I'm going to leave you now, you can leave whenever you like, the papers are in.

The doctor leaves the room and I get dressed.

-I won't let you do this Maeva, if I have to I'll kill our boy myself so that you live.

I slap him.

-It's my decision Kyle! This is our child we're talking about, the future alpha of our pack, not our neighbour!

Kyle leaves the room and comes back a few minutes later with the doctor.

-I've signed the papers.

-And if I have an abortion and get pregnant again, will the other child be like this one?

-Yes, there's a 90% chance it will be like this one.

-And how many months of pregnancy am I looking at?

-Seven, as it has to develop more than the others.

My baby is going to kill me, but I don't want to kill it, I want to bring joy into the world and I know very well that Kyle will be able to look after it. He's selfish and only thinks of his own needs.
