Alpha Bond -
Chapter 17
Ella’s POV
Reluctantly, I open my eyes when I sense someone calling me. My eyebrows pull together in confusion when I notice that I am looking at the open sky illuminated with moonlight instead of the roof of the room in which I have slept.
Looking to my side, I try to replace Elena but I replace myself alone. Sitting up my gaze sweeps over the familiar place where I have been sneaking since my childhood.
The clearing where mom and dad had met for the first time.
After knowing about their story, somewhere I always dream to replace that kind of love in my life. Surprisingly, I never want a mate, but what I do hope for is love... true love.
But coming back to the main question, how did I end up here? It is not a spell, because if it had been I could have sensed it. But this place seems real.
The feeling of not being alone raises goosebumps on my skin. Quickly, getting on my feet I look around. At first, I don't see anything, but then my eyes land on the silhouette of a person.
Patiently, I wait for the person to make an appearance.
"You?" Narrowing my eyes, I glare at the person who has been messing with my mind since I have met him.
"Yes, me." Emerson casually slips his hands in his pocket and shrugs.
"What are you doing here?" I glare at him feeling the same anger that I have felt when he tried to kill me. "Looking for an opportunity to kill me?"
"Do you think that I can kill you?" Sadness coats his eyes, as he glances at me.
"You tried to kill me in front of everyone." I grit my teeth, ignoring the ache which I am feeling seeing his saddened expression. "And now we are alone, so for you, it must be another great opportunity to attack me."
"Don't believe everything you see, Ella." He states with a small sigh, "Sometimes we mistake believing what our eyes show us, but never try to see what our heart is telling us." He gives me a helpless look.
"I am not a fool, Emerson. So, don't mistake me for one." Crossing my arms, I look at him trying to replace what is going on in his mind.
His brows pull together as he shakes his head disapprovingly.
"I hate when you call me that." He looks down while still shaking his head, "For you, I am Oliver. Just Oliver."
I open my mouth to curse him to hell but stop when an exotic smell reaches my nose. Involuntarily, I inhale a deep breath already feeling addicted to this smell. This is an earthy smell, with a hint of something which I am unable to describe.
Raising my eyes, I glance at Emerson replaceing him looking at me with a foreign expression.
When my eyes connect with him, something clicks in my mind. My heart races as slowly the fog which was covering my mind begins to lift.
"For you, Ella, I am always going to be Oliver." He speaks quietly while various emotions echo in his voice.
Walking slowly towards me, he covers the distance between us. My gaze is locked with his while the warmth radiating off of him blankets me, stirring foreign emotions inside me.
Lifting my hand, I place my hand over his heart feeling his heartbeat. His frantic heartbeat beneath my palm, revealing his real emotions.
My breath hitch in my throat, as I fist the front of his shirt tightly in my hand when leaning down he brushes his lips against my neck.
A strange feeling spreads throughout me and I feel myself moving closer to him. He runs his nose along my neck while a low growl vibrates in his chest as he presses his nose against my skin inhaling my scent.
I feel heady. All my senses seem to be focused on him. His scent, his warmth, and his touch.
His warm breath tickles my skin.
He places small kisses along my neck. I throw my head back while my knees turned to jelly when he kisses the place where I will be marked.
Freaking hell, this is dangerous. No one should have such power over someone as he is having over me at this moment.
Placing his hand behind my back, he holds me while he bites my neck hard enough to feel the sting, but not harsh to tear the skin, and then sucks it to soothe the pain. This feeling is so overwhelming that it is driving me insane.
He continues to tease me while Blaze begins to get irritated. Growling, I harshly clutch his hair in my hand while pressing his face against my neck as my wolf demands to be marked.
His deep chuckle resonates through me, momentarily making me forget my annoyance.
Leaning back he cups my face in his hand, a soft smile is present on his lips. He looks nothing like the person who has tried to kill me neither his expression has that coldness which he usually carries.
He seems so different... so relaxed.
His gaze shifts to my lips and I replace myself mirroring his action. There is a hesitant look in his eyes, as his gaze keeps flickering between my eyes and lips.
I replace myself mirroring his actions, and tilt my face upwards to minimize the distance between our lips. I am more curious to replace out if what I am feeling is true, the feelings which I am experiencing are real.
All my doubts wipe away the moments his lips are on mine while a volcano of warmth explodes all over my skin causing my wolf to hum in delight.
Before I can fully savor this feeling, my eyes snap open and I replace myself in my room. Alone.
"What the hell?" I sit up feeling confused and shocked.
Holding my head in my hands, I close my eyes as his face appears before me. Looking around I replace there is no one in the room except Elena and me.
Should I wake up Elena and ask if she felt anything strange. What if someone is playing tricks on me, and even Elena is not here everything is just a figment of my imagination.
"Why are you awake?" Elena asks, as I lightly shake her shoulder, "Are you hungry? Do you want me to make something for you?" Her voice is heavy with sleep, but she begins to sit up.
Between me and Elena, she is the one who knows how to cook. Often whenever midnight craving strikes me, I ask her to make something for me.
And the sweetheart she is, she never says no to me or Thea. But her generosity is limited to only her family or close friends, if there is anyone else who disturbed her sleep she will not think once before frying them.
"No, I am not hungry." Suddenly, I feel guilty about waking her up. "You just go back to sleep." Gently, I push her back to the bed.
"What's wrong, Ella? You seem bothered." She seems alert, as her eyes move around the room then settles back at me, "Do you wanna talk about what is making you restless?"
"Nothing, I was checking if it is really you or I am just imagining things," I tell her the half-truth.
"I might be the dream of many." She smugly smiles, making me roll my eyes at her, "But I am as real for you as our bond." She holds my hand giving it a reassuring squeeze.
Smiling at her, I feel grateful to have her and Thea in my life. I know I can face anything as long as I have her with me because we sisters are each other's strength.
Even Thea is really special to me, but the bond which I share with Elena is different. Elena is my companion, my partner, my guide whereas Thea is my baby.
"Love you, Ella." She yawns and whispers while already half-asleep.
Another thing that makes Elena different from others is that she never hesitate to express herself. She speaks what she feels and thinks. If she likes someone even if they have met for the first, she will directly tell them. And if she despises anyone, then she never hides her dislike towards them.
"Love you, too." Lying down in the bed, I pretend to sleep even though I know sleep won't come to me.
My mind shifts back to what I have experienced a few moments ago.
Was I dreaming?
It can't be possible. Everything felt so real, that it is impossible that it was a dream.
My fingers touch my lips which are still tingling with that kiss. The warmth of his lips is still present on my lips, then how it could be a dream.
It's not a dream, but then what it was?
