Alpha Queen -
Chapter 16
Liviana’s POV
“Liviana” Luan called out softly and I snapped back to reality.
“Are you okay, baby?” he asked worried. I gave him an assuring smile and nodded.
“I…spaced out” I said. He sighed and wrapped me in a hug.
I leaned in on him enjoying his warmth.
Then the door opens and I instinctively push Luan and he lands on the floor groaning.
I bite my lower l*p guilty and look to the door as Blake comes in.
He smiled at me and I smiled back.
I can already hear Luan’s low growls beside me as Blake approaches me.
Blake looked at Luan probably confused why he’s here but prioritizes coming to me.
“Livi” Blake said softly and hugged me. Luan growls but I gave him a look and keep Blake in a hug so he won’t look at Luan.
“I don’t know what happened but I had a really bad nightmare” he said. My hug tightened on him.
Of course, he’d remember.
“There were wolves. A lot of them and—” he continued but I cut him off by cupping his face and leaning my forehead on his.
Another growl came out from Luan.
“I’m sorry” I said.
Blake held my hands cupping his face.
“Why?” he asked.
I sighed.
“When we both recover completely. I’ll tell you. But for now, please be patient” I told him. He sighed but nodded.
Then Luan immediately separated our foreheads with a frown.
Blake at Luan remembering his presence.
“What’s your project partner doing here?” Blake asked me confused. I glanced at Luan and he was frowning.
“Uhm…that I’ll also explain to you after recovering” I told him. He sighed again and nodded in understanding.
Then, Edmond came in with El, Alex and the twins.
Perfect.
I needed to ask Alex something anyway.
“Blake, your mom is looking for you” Edmond told Blake.
Blake looked at me.
“You should head back” I told him. He nodded and gave me a k**s on the top of my forehead.
Even before Luan can growl and attack Blake, the twins held him back and covered his mouth.
“Okay. I’ll see you again soon” he said and left.
The twins let go of Luan and he glared at them.
I turned to Alex.
“Alex, I need to ask you something” I said.
“Yes, Alpha?” he said. I looked at Luan, the twins and El.
“Can the rest of you step out except Alex and Edmond” I said. They glanced at each other.
“Now” I said sternly. Luan sighed and went out first followed by the twins and El.
“I need to ask you something about my father” I said.
The two glanced at each other and at me.
“Before he left, did he say anything about what important mission they needed to do?” I asked. Edmond shook his head.
“All he said was it was very crucial that they complete the mission but he never talked about the specifics of it” Edmond said.
“Before he…passed. Did he say anything?” I asked Alex. He thought about it then nodded.
“What is it?” I asked hopeful.
“Protect Liviana” he said.
I felt a squeeze on my heart.
“Is there anything else?” I asked trying not to break over again.
He started thinking again.
“There’s something I heard from the last person I saw your father spoke with before we were ambushed” he remembered.
“What is it?” I asked again..
“She’s the heir for both the Alaric and White family” he said.
My mind went blank.
Alaric? That’s the King’s last name.
Who’s White?
“Livi, there’s something I found while cleaning your father’s room after you went to camp” Edmond suddenly said.
I looked at him curiously.
He takes out something from his pocket and gives it to me.
My mouth gaped open when I recognized Diana then there was a man beside her holding a baby but I couldn’t recognize the child clearly.
I flipped the picture.
‘King Kale Alaric and Princess Diana White with Princess Liviana Alaric’
My head suddenly snapped and then pictures and scenes started showing up in my head.
“Hi, love. How did my little princess sleep?” the man who I recognized as King Kale said.
“Is Liviana already awake?” Diana pops in and they both look at me with loving eyes.
“She looks exactly like you except she has my hair color and eyes. Aside from that, she definitely has your other features” the King said chuckling.
“Well, after having such a hard time giving birth, isn’t that just fair?” Diana said grinning. They both laugh.
“Our daughter is beautiful” the King said.
Daughter?
The king picks me up then we stand in front of the mirror and true enough, I saw my reflection as a child.
That’s me.
I screamed in pain as the memory vanished.
I opened my tear filled eyes and the door burst open as my breathing and heartbeat start to pick up.
Then, I realized it.
I remember how Edmond and the pack leaders once told me that my father arrived at their pack with me but never said a thing about my mother.
They said I was only a few months old then.
No one knew of my father’s past then but it was soon revealed that he was a warrior of the royal family but ‘retired’.
He soon became Alpha after that information about him was revealed since the Alpha at the time passed the responsibility to him before passing with no heir.
Everyone watched me grow up and talked about how I looked nothing like my father and just assumed that I probably looked like my unknown mother.
But maybe it was simply because I wasn’t his.
I held my chest as the pain continued.
The man who raised me and taught me how to become a good leader and even showed me love, is not my real father.
And the stranger who saved me and healed me of my wounds is not a stranger at all but my mother.
Tears started to fall from my eyes.
My real father is a King and my mother is a Princess. They never had the chance to watch me grow up because…
They were killed.
But by who?
“Liviana, look at me” I heard Luan’s voice. I snapped back to reality and looked at me.
“What’s wrong, baby?” he asked worried. My lips trembled.
“I…I’m a Princess” I said.
