Alpha Queen -
Chapter 43
Luan’s POV
I should’ve been there sooner.
I never should’ve let her out of my sight.
Now, she’s suffering.
In pain.
Again.
I stared at Liviana as the machines connected to her body made me want to go mad.
She’s been in an induced coma for a week now.
The injury she acquired was even worse than the when she got shot by silver bullets.
If only I was there to protect her.
Flashback…
“Dante is so going to kill you if you show your face to him with Liviana” El said chuckling. I smirked.
“Not if I kill him first” I said as I punches one of the rag dolls.
We’re currently in Cresent Moon’s training area while waiting for Liviana to finish her meeting.
I already miss my mate.
I hope she finishes up soon.
El and I kept training instead as we waited for the meeting to finish.
But then I sensed it.
My brows furrowed.
I rushed to go back to their pack house.
“Luan! Where are you going?” El asked confused as he followed me.
I didn’t answer.
I stormed in to the pack house and made my way to thei meeting room.
“Luan, Liviana will be piss—“
We both stopped when I opened the meeting room and no one was there.
Not a single soul in the room.
“Liviana, where the hell are you?!” I immediately mind linked my mate.
Did she forget that she has her mate with her?!
“I’m sorry. I’ll get back to you after all this” she replied completely and completely cut me off.
I growled.
One that I knew resonated not only inside the house but outside.
“Where’s my fcking mate?!” I growled angrily as my eyes glowed bright green.
I saw as El gulped and backed away from me cautiously.
Then Edmond, my mate’s Beta came in.
He bowed at me in respect.
“I’m sorry, your majesty. Our Alpha has left to help a pack that is under attack by rogues. It was an emergency” he explained.
Another growl emitted from my chest.
Here she goes again with her reckless behavior.
“Tell me where is exactly right now” I said sternly. Edmond met my eyes but quickly looked away.
“I don’t think the Alpha would—” he tried to say but got cut off.
“The Northern pack. Liviana is on the way to the Northern pack. It’s an hour away from here” Liviana’s so called uncle butt in with jis usual blank impression.
I just looked at him for a moment and I knew then why he’d tell me where Liviana is even when we don’t get along.
I rushed out of there.
“Abe, get me a jet immediately” I mind linked my cousin.
“What? A jet? For what?” he replied.
“Stop asking and start moving. I’ll be there in 10” I replied and cut him off before I shifted to my wolf.
I need to get to Liviana.
I need to protect her.
I need to stay by her side.
“Prepare yourselves. We’re going somewhere” I mind linked my guards and warriors.
“Yes, your majesty” they replied.
I ran faster and faster then ended up arriving at the place we are staying in.
I shifted back and a guard brought me clothes as we made our way to the backyard.
There I saw the private jet, the Warr and my cousins.
“What the fck are you up to, Luan?” Abe said in disbelief but I ignored him.
“We’re going to the Northern pack territory. There’s a rogue attack going there and I want all the rogues to be dead and I want Crescent Moon’s Alpha Liviana unharmed” I said with authority.
“Yes, your majesty” they said and started board the jet.
“Liviana’s in harm’s way?” Cassandra asked worried.
I sighed and nodded.
“I’ll be back soon. Please check up on Liviana’s pack soon, bring them a bunch of more guards to protect their pack and tell them it’s from me so they’d give you all entrance” I said and didn’t wait for their response.
I boarded the jet and it left almost immediately after I settled down.
I felt anxious.
Worry.
Fear.
Liviana is only starting to open up to me.
We’re starting to get along well.
If anything bad happens to her, I don’t know what I’ll do.
I can’t lose her.
No.
She’s my mate.
The only one I’ll ever want to be with.
No one else.
I tried shaking off the negative thoughts.
I tried to reach out to Liviana but she wasn’t responding in any way.
My wolf, Deimos couldn’t contact Liviana’s wolf as well.
We were both getting anxious and agitated of the thought of having our mate away from us.
I don’t know how many minutes passed but it felt like hours of flight when we finally landed.
I was the first to get off then shifted immediately and my warriors shifted after me.
I can already smell it.
The burning scent and the scent of b***d and rogues.
I growled and sprinted into the woods as I made my way to where the scent was coming fast.
I need to replace Liviana quick.
We reached the territory and my warriors started to eliminate one rogue to another.
I saw how shocked everyone was of the sudden reinforcement.
But I wasn’t here for them.
I was here for my mate.
I kept trying to replace her.
I searched and searched.
Until I caught her scent.
I ran to that direction.
I kept getting closer to the scent.
And when I finally saw my mate being held by another male, my whole body shook in anger.
No one else should be touching my mate!
She’s mine!
I growled loudly and it resonated in the whole area before I jumped out of one of the bushes.
Liviana’s eyes met mine and I saw a sense of relief in her face.
My beautiful mate.
The hunter and the rogue in its human form was holding a pup and they looked at me in shock.
I’m sure that by now they have figured out that I’m of royal status because no average wolf had fur like one that’s of royal b***d.
I growled again and the rogue let go of the pup in fear.
The pup came running to Liviana while I immediately attacked the rogue.
I pounced on him and bit him on his neck before ripping his pathetic head off of his body.
Then I turned my attention back to my mate.
Liviana’s eyes met mine and my eyes softened for a second seeing what situation my mate was in.
I just wanted to pull her to me and hug her.
Tell her she’s safe with me.
But I need to finish off this hunter first.
I continued to growl and snarl at the hunter as I made my way closer to them.
The hunter shook in fear as he backed away from me with my mate and the pup.
“Don’t you dare come near!” the hunter warned but I didn’t budge.
The hunter cussed.
Then he yanked the pup out of Liviana’s hold and pushed him to ground before aiming the silver dagger at his direction.
Liviana’s eyes widened and before I knew it, she got out of the hunter’s hold and protected the pup with her body.
My eyes widened as I saw the silver dagger pierce through Liviana.
No.
I heard Liviana gasp and then the hunter proceeded to attack me.
I was able to dodge him but as soon as I got hold of him, I saw red.
I clawed his face and he screamed in pain. I bit onto him and tore his limb one after another.
I was going crazy.
“Luan, our mate” Deimos reminded me.
I finally tore off the hunter’s head then I rushed to Liviana’s side.
The pup from earlier was holding her as he cried and kept shaking my mate to wake up.
“We need a doctor here right now!” I mind linked my warriors.
I shifted back to my human form.
“Liviana” I said carefully changing her position with the dagger still on her back.
“Liviana please. You need to wake up and stay awake” I said as I tapped onto her face.
No response.
“Baby, please” I said as I desperately tried to wake her.
“Liviana, I can’t lose you” I said as I felt something warm on my face.
A tear.
Please.
End of Flashback…
She was rushed to their pack hospital immediately but one of my doctors was in charge of her treatment.
It was bad.
We almost lost her.
She had to be revived twice.
And now she’s in the ICU.
I held Liviana’s hand and brought it up to my lips as I planted a k**s there.
“Please wake up, Liviana. I miss you so damn much, baby” I said as a tear fell from my eyes.
Liviana, please.
