Alpha Queen
Chapter 88

Liviana’s POV

“How did you replace this place?” Dante asked as we roamed around the area.

“I didn’t replace it. It was introduced to it” I said.

They all looked at me confused.

“The moon goddess. The moon goddess brought me here” I said.

Pa and King Kale looked at me stunned.

“Figures” Dante said with a shrug.

“Since when?” he asked again.

“After I woke up from the coma and disappeared. I woke up here” I said.

Dante’s brows furrowed.

“So this is where she brought you” Dante said with a frown.

“Is this where you disappear to often?” he asked further.

I nodded.

“Yes. I meet the moon goddess when I go here” I said.

“You meet the moon goddess often?” Pa asked in shock.

I nodded.

King Kale chuckled in amusement.

“Behind there is a place for all of you to stay in” I said as I pointed to the waterfall.

I had already set up a little place for them to sleep in and I’ll bring them food when I go back.

“Liviana” King Kale called my name.

I looked at him.

“Can we talk?” he asked softly.

I smiled and nodded.

Pa and Dante gave me a nod and they walked away from us.

King Kale and I sat by the edge of the water and we sat there silently for a moment.

“How have you been?” he finally voiced out to break the tension between us.

I looked at him as he looked back at me.

“I…I’m glad to finally meet you…dad” I said.

King Kale’s eyes watered with tears.

“My daughter” he muttered as he pulled me in for a hug.

The tears I’ve been holding on to for a while was finally let out.

I hugged my father tightly, terrified that he might suddenly disappear again.

Every story of him from mom was engraved in my memory.

And although I haven’t spent enough time with him yet, I felt as if I knew him my whole life.

We both cried into each other’s shoulders as we held each other.

I felt at home.

I felt safe and warm.

But most of all, I felt relieved and thankful.

After 18 years, I was able to finally be held by my own father.

Although I was contented and happy with Pa all those years, knowing that I have them both now makes it even better.

After that, we ended up talking about things in my life.

The memories of my childhood.

My friends.

My school.

My everything.

We talked about anything and everything to catch up.

He shared his stories about his own past and how he met mom.

“How about you? How did you meet your mate?” he suddenly asked.

“We met on my 18th birthday when my wolf suddenly changed” I started.

“But I ran away from him” I said with a chuckle.

“What? Why?” he asked.

“I didn’t want to meet him so soon, dad. I had a lot of things on my hands that time and meeting my mate would add up to my troubles” I explained.

“Then, how did you guys meet each other?” he asked curiously.

“We met at school despite masking my scent” I told him.

Dad nodded in understanding.

“Then, you got marked by him then?” he asked.

I shook my head.

“No. It took months for us to mark each other” I said.

He looked at me stunned.

“How did you resist the bond?” he asked baffled.

“I had my priorities straight” I said with a shrug.

Dad chuckled.

“You’re quite the character, Liviana” he said with a smile.

I chuckled.

“Mom said my personality was like yours” I said.

He smiled but it didn’t reach his ears.

“Did she now?” he said and I nodded.

“Do you meet her often too?” he asked.

I nodded again.

“I do. I meet her in my dreams” I said.

Dad looked in front and stared into the water.

“I miss your mom” he said sadly.

“There’s no day that I don’t think of the both of you” he continued on.

“We could’ve lived a happy life together as a family but I couldn’t protect the both of you” he said as he clenched his fists.

I reached out to hold his hand.

“It’s not your fault, dad. It never was and it never will” I said and his eyes softened as he looked at me.

“Mom still loves you and looks up at you like she did when she was still with us. Every time we’d talk about you, she’d only say good things” I said.

“I disappointed her” he said as a tear fell from his eyes.

I shook my head.

“Mom isn’t disappointed in you. She never was. She doesn’t blame you for anything either. In fact, I’m sure mom is glad you’re alive. That’s the only thing that matters” I said.

Dad looked down as he started sobbing.

I caressed his back as he cried.

After a while, we joined Pa and Dante.

Once Pa looked at me, I made my way to him and hugged him.

We hugged each other tightly.

“I missed you so much, kiddo” he said.

I smiled.

“I missed you too, Pa” I said and he smiled.

He tucked in a lose strand of my hair behind my ear as he looked at me.

“Was it hard?” he asked worried.

I gave him a small smile.

“I’m fine. Edmond and his family helped me a lot. The other pack leaders also supported me in leading the pack” I said.

Pa sighed in relief.

“I’m glad” he said and planted a k**s on my forehead.

After that, I went out and got us some food for dinners and I also bought some groceries for them.

I needed to be back in the pack house by tomorrow morning because Amaris has been whining to get back to our mate.

Yes, she’s clearly the clingy type.

“Liviana, when can we meet your mate?” Dad suddenly asked.

I almost chocked on my food.

“Oh I uhm…well, not soon, I think. He’s…busy” I lied.

Luan was not busy.

He mostly just hangs around the pack house with El.

And when he’s not with El, he’s flirting with me.

“Really? But he’s a student like you, right?” dad said.

“Yeah but he uhm he sometimes work part-time. He also helps the pack members train” I lied again.

The only work Luan does is follow me around and seduce me.

He does help in training the pack but he doesn’t do it regularly since everyone was still intimidated by his mere presence.

Pa and Dad looked at me with a raised brow.

“Is there something we need to know about your mate, Livi?” Pa said.

I gulped.

Yes.

But not today.

“Can we not talk about him right now, please? We’re….having a lovers’ quarrel right now” I lied once more.

Pa and Dad looked at each other and nodded in understanding.

My uncle looked at me with an amused expression.

I bit my lower l*p guilty from lying so much.

After dinner, we all sat outside by the edge of the water.

We talked about random things.

None of us dared to bring up what had happened in the palace.

I guess we didn’t want to ruin the mood.

Atleast for now.

We’re bound to discuss it soon.

But for now, we just wanted to enjoy each other’s presence.

Even if we could only meet secret while they are hidden away from everyone.

Then, everyone left to rest for the night while I stayed out and stared at the water.

“Liviana”

I turned to look and saw the moon goddess.

“Moon goddess” I said as she sat beside me.

“Why aren’t you resting yet? You’ve had a long day” she asked worried.

I gave her a small smile.

“Moon goddess, can I ask something?” I asked her and she nodded.

“Of course” she said.

I took a deep breath.

“Does Luan really have to go through something so cruel?” I asked.

The moon goddess looked at me a little surprised.

But then she gave me a sad smile.

“His father made his decision a long time ago. It’s unfortunate but I can no longer do anything about it” this moon goddess said.

I bit my lower l*p.

“What if… Luan hates me in the future if I take his father’s place?” I asked.

The moon goddess looked at me worried.

“Do you think he will?” she asked back.

I sighed and shook my head.

“Atleast I think he won’t” I said.

There was a moment of silence.

“I don’t want to hurt him” I muttered as a tear felk from my eye.

I don’t want to hurt the person I love.
