Chapter 92: But I am also Penelope

"How are you here?" I ask him.

Dawn is slowly breaking and Nicholas is in the room, pacing back and forth. He looks like a strained animal, full of rage and despair, not knowing what to do.

Every minute that passed, I saw him get worse. He was far from the man I knew, the one I used to hang out with and have fun, the one I even thought was too much for me. Nate had left him really bad, I didn't hear from him anymore because I didn't want to know, and I didn't care. I just wanted to get away from him, and I did.

I got into a lot of trouble after that, but at least I was with a man who appreciated me, I found my people.

I started to value myself a lot more, no matter if I was Luna or human, and now I wondered how I could date a man like him, how I could lower myself to be with him.

"You mean, how am I with these animals? How do I know these monsters exist?" he said, and I heard the rogues outside roaring.

"You should have left town... "I said to him.

"So should you, Penelope...but you chose to stay even though you knew about them," he said, walking away.

He had tied my hands, but I was confident I could run away. I just had to free my hands, I was already moving my wrists as much as I could to get loose.

"I knew it wasn't a normal wolf that did this to me," he says, pointing to the scars on his arms, and when he pulls up his pants a little I see that his ankle is practically disfigured.

"That animal destroyed my life, I was never the same man, I lost all my confidence. I went through surgeries and treatments in the hospital. And everyone told me that my life would go on and that I would get over it... but it was a lie, I never did. Instead, you knew what all this madness was. And I found out in the worst way," he says, looking at me with hatred, his eyes shining with madness. His body was ill, but his mind was even worse.

"And to my surprise, when I came back to look for you... I saw you very happy. The chubby loser I had dated just for fun... had a man in her house who was way out of her league, tall and powerful and exuding incredible confidence," he said as he approached me.

"He told me in pretty clear terms to stay away from you, that if he saw me again, he would finish me off. And I thought he was just a jealous man, one who wanted to sleep with you, to have his way with a virgin. But no. Several times I saw him waiting for you"

"And one night... I heard you screaming, asking him for more and more. Even worse... he was screaming your name and roaring with pleasure... You! A random woman, one who had behaved like a frigid with me, who hadn't even let me touch her or make her mine... she had given herself completely to a beast, you probably let him do whatever he wanted to you! Like a whore!" he says with contempt, pushing me against the wall. "You don't know what you're talking about!" I mutter to him, who does this man think he is?

"Yes I do, I know that the dark-haired man wants you, he is bound to you, and that you knew about all of this! You knew they were monsters, and you still spread your legs for him!" he says angrily.

"That's your problem, Nicholas! To you women are just an object, something to fuck and nothing more, you deserve everything that has happened and more! I am a person, not a game!" I say annoyed and dodge a blow he throws at me. "You were meant to be mine, you were someone easy! I was supposed to have you trapped and in love, ready for me, but it didn't happen!"

"You only care about power! Manipulating others! Instead, I received love, respect, affection and care from him. Things you will never understand," I say, and he slaps me and I push him.

"Pure nonsense! But that doesn't matter anymore, because now you're in big trouble because of that boyfriend monster of yours..." "You allied yourself with Marco..."

"That man is even more dangerous, and he was watching you, he even broke into your house to sniff your things and at some point he found me... he asked me who I was and when I told him about you... he offered me money which I took. And something you don't replace every day."

"You're playing with fire... and you're so stupid you didn't realize it," I say.

"Yes, I know, I've seen things... terrifying things. But he offered me the chance for revenge, he saw that I was capable of anything to ruin your boyfriend and you. I still don't understand why you are so important to these people. But I, a man and not a beast, have won. I managed to convince them to leave me with you and here I am, I have you in my power, and it was what I wanted.... "He says, grabbing my arms and I struggle against him. "Get away from me, don't touch me!" I scream as he laughs.

"Did you think you could get rid of me so easily? Did you think it was over?" he says and I fall to the ground, and he grabs my legs.

I push him and kick him in the face and get up as I see him pull out a knife. Damn, I keep struggling with the ropes.

"Where is your boyfriend now, uh? Where is he to defend and protect you? You're all alone for me now... and I'm going to do whatever I want with you," he says and comes at me.

I feel my hand throbbing from the wound and when I manage to let go, I push him away with my hands. The rogues outside are agitated, and I'm afraid they'll attract attention and Erica will come, or worse, Marco.

"You fucking bitch!" he says desperately as we start to wrestle, he tries to attack me with the knife when I stop his arms. I kick him in the ankle he has hurt, and I hear him scream and the knife roll to the floor.

I have to get out of here, this man has hurt me in the past and I will not let him do it again.

I have always been strong, I understand now, that I was capable of many things, but others made me believe I was weak. I am a Luna, but I am also Penelope, the girl who saved her brothers and suffered a lot alone. "Ungrateful bitch! I was with you when no one wanted you! When you were nobody! And this is how you pay me?" he shouts.

He tries to get up and can't, and I give him another kick that sends him rolling and screaming. Erica thinks I'm too weak to leave me with a man like this.

"I gave you my time and my affection and all you did was ask for more, my attention, my love. You only talked about yourself and thought you were better than everyone else... and here you are... you are a man who deserves everything that has happened to you, and I am sure there will be more suffering in your future," I tell him.

When suddenly I hear a bang on one of the windows and the glass falls to pieces and Naomi's head appears.

"Naomi, Thanks the goddess!" I yell in relief.

"Luna!" she says happily. She jumps out of the window and then my brothers appear, including Andrew, who is clutching his arm.

"I'm so happy to see you all okay!" I say relieved.

"Sis!" my little ones say as they hug me, and I want to cry with happiness. I see them with scratches and Luther with a swollen eye, but alive.

"We had a little delay, Crimson Fangs warriors and rogues showed up. To get us away from you, we fought and killed several wolves. But here we are," she says, looking at Nicholas.

"Who left this rat here?" she asks startled.

"That fucker!" my brothers yell, realizing who he is

"You won't be able to save her! You're all going to die today," Nicholas says nervously, keeping his distance.

"Truly, Marco has hired the worst of the worst for his demonic plan...a weak and sick man?" says Naomi with contempt. My brothers roar and move closer to him.

"More of this scum? Are you all bloody beasts?" says Nicholas, trembling.

"No doubt this man wants us to kill him..." says Luke and they move in to push him around, it seems like they want to play with him, passing Nicholas back and forth as they beat him. "We have to get out of here, Naomi... Erica is near..." I say and hear the rogues getting angry.

"If I don't kill you...they'll rip you apart," Nicholas says viciously as he lies on the ground bleeding as my brothers kick him over and over again, he screams and cries.

"The rat is right...we were lucky to get in because they kept watching this door... all their attention is on you as watchers" says Andrew. They will follow me wherever I go.

"I think something can be done, just like Erica said... Marco needs me," I say, and Luna's instinct tells me to do it.

"Luna... Please don't," Naomi says in fear.

When I open the door, the wolves look at me angrily, I step forward, and they're roaring and bellowing.
