Chapter 107

Reins.

I lay there with her curled up against me, letting everything run through my head about what we found out from Ryker. I was still trying to process it all. Especially the part where I become king. It made sense now as to why Gem had picked all four of Autumn's friends to be her protectors. None of us knew there was usually only one chosen. We just hadn't learned a lot about the history of the Silver Wolf and it's not like we could call and ask someone we didn't even know there was more out there. All we knew was they were rare and none had been heard of till Autumn came into our lives,

I know there is still a lot that we need to learn about. I'm a little worried about this full moon and don't know what's all gonna happen. I just don't want any surprises and, from what Ryker said, we don't want people seeing Autumn and Gem after they shift, but that's going to be hard as the full moon pack members are gonna be out all over the territory.

I could order them to stay away from a certain area, but that may cause suspicion on their part,

"What are you in deep thought about already?"

Her sleepy voice started me as I was lost in my thoughts,

"Nothing. Go back to sleep. It's still early." Placing a kiss on the top of her head, she snuggled closer, laying her head on my chest and letting her fingers draw patterns on it. I could feel her breathing even out as she drifted back to sleep. Soon her fingers stopped moving,

There was about an hour before the sun came up. I knew a lot had to be done today. First, we needed to fill her parents in on everything, which I'm sure Matts is not going to be happy that we waited to tell him. But so much happened in a short span of time, we didn't get to have them included right away, plus Autumn was having a hard time coming to terms with what she had just been told. I also know she doesn't like to upset or worry her parents ever since Matt was hurt. She is overprotective of him, not wanting him to stress about anything. That's what will make her a good Luna along with her sweet and kind nature.

Looking at the clock again, it said five thirty a.m., which meant a half-hour later the house would be waking and the morning trainees would be heading out to the training field.

Sliding out from under her and putting my pillow in my place, making sure she stayed asleep, I went to the bathroom, turning the shower on. I stepped in under the water, sucking in a sharp breath as the water was still cold, but it woke me up more than feeling it slowly turn to warm my muscles relaxed,

Quickly washing and getting out, I wrapped a towel around my waist, peeking out the door. I saw her still hugging my pillow. Smiling at the sight of her, I moved to my closet, grabbing some boxers along with sweats and a cut-off. I haven't been down to the training field in a while and I could use the workout. So I'll attend it this morning.

Dressing, I got my shoes on and went back out to check to see if she was still in bed, which she was. I didn't want to wake her. I wanted her to rest. With all the events that have happened lately and with everything coming up, I didn't want her pushing herself, Pulling the blanket up to cover her, she nuzzled into my pillow more, laughing to myself at how cute she looked doing that.

Heading out the door, I sent Keaton a mind link, letting him know I was joining the morning training.

"Sounds good, Alpha."

Halfway down the steps, the smell of breakfast has started, which means Anut Anna is in the kitchen already,

The closer I got to the kitchen, the stronger the smell got, which made my stomach rumble. Reaching the doorway, I looked in to see Anut Anna cooking and giving directions about what was to be done next to the omegas that worked with her. She was so soft- spoken. Not once have I ever heard her yell or mistreat anyone who worked in the kitchen with her.

Stepping in," Good Morning Anut Anna,"

Turning, she looked with a shocked look at that, "Alpha, What brings you down this early?"

"I'm meeting Keaton for morning training. It's been a while and I still need to know how everyone is handling it,"

"I was about to finish your and Autumn's breakfast and bring it up to you,"

"Go ahead and get something for her. I'll eat when I come back in,"

"Yes Alpha," She bows a little, then gets back to cooking. I walked over to her. "How many times have I told you to stop calling me Alpha?"

"And how many times have I told you that you are my Alpha, so there I will address you as Alpha?" She fired right back.

Reaching over, I grabbed an apple from the bowel on the counter,

"One day I will win this argument," I shot at her while heading towards the back door,

"Keep dreaming, Alpha. It will never happen," She laughed.

I stopped close to the door, turning to face her, "I could always place an Alpha command on you. Then you will have to follow my orders."

She spun around quickly and I ducked out the door just as I heard, "I'll give you an Alpha command," along with a bang which I'm sure she threw something at me. Peeking back, I saw the spoon with batter on it lying on the floor. Yep, she threw it at me, "You know you shouldn't throw things at people. It's not nice," I called to her. I could hear the others laughing at my taunts at her,

"Reins Blackwood, if you don't get your a*s on that field, I'll kick it all the way there!"

Laughing, I pulled the door closed, and heading across the backyard and eating my apple, I moved down the path towards the field. I could hear Keaton's voice as he had begun the class already,

Reaching the field, I saw he had them warming up. I tossed my apple and walked up next to him,

"Alpha," He greeted me,

"Keaton," I looked out, watching them stretch. "What is the layout for today?'

"It is sparing and holds."

"Good, anyone you think needs extra help?"

He took a minute to think, then pointed to a small group of four, two girls and two boys,

"They could. That isn't their strong point. They struggle to keep hold of someone and get out of one."

"What about sparing?"

He shakes his head," Not good. The girls are afraid to hit or take a hit and the boys act as if they don't need it,"

"Alright, well, I'll take those four and work with them this morning. Why you handle the rest of the class?

"Yes, Alpha."

"Oh, have you checked in with Morgan? How is everything down there?"

"Did that this morning. It's good they did a shift change halfway through the night, but he's not doing anything but sitting there. I think he knows he can't get out of it now." "Good, good, don't need anything else happening right now."

"Yes, I have to agree with that, but Morgan and her mate will be relieving the other guard around eleven today."

"Alright, just keep me posted on what is happening down there."

"Will do, Alpha,"

He stepped forward, clapping his hands,

"Alright class, you four," he pointed to the last four at the end. "You will be training with Alpha this morning". The rest of you line up over here and we will pair up."

The group split as the others walked over to the other side of Keaton. The four just stood there walking towards them. I saw the girls shift back and forth from foot to foot, "Alright guys, let's pair up and see what we need to work on,"

Hearing a small chuckle from one of them, I stopped looking at them,

"Something funny?" I asked them,

The girls shook their heads. I knew it wasn't them, it was one of the boys, probably thinking he didn't need the one-on-one training,

"Yeah, why are we separated from the rest of the class?"

"Well, I was informed. You can't keep someone in a hold and you can't spar. So I'm going to teach how."

The one busted out laughing. You could see how he stood. He was cocky, walking to stand right in front of him, my nose just about touching his,

"Are you daring to disrespect your Alpha?" I growled at him.

"What Alpha, I don't see one. What I see is someone who went soft because of a woman,"

"Soft you say? Well, if that is how you feel, then you wouldn't mind a one-on-one?"

He looked shocked at my offer. He turned his head to look at the other guy but all he did was shake his head no.

Smiling, he looked back at me, "I accept."
