Autumn

I was up early today was my first day of school. Kelly is picking me up she insisted on me riding with h Oscar Nick and Brad said they meet us at school.

"I came to tell you breakfast is ready,"

She nod then walks out my room I grabbed my bag and phone seeing I had a message from Kelly letting me know she was on her way.

Half way down I could smell pancakes. Wait that smells like blueberry.

I quickly came down to the living room making my way to the kitchen. I see dad and Zach sitting at the table they had a bunch of papers in front of them. Dad looks up. "Good morning," I see him mouth to me.

"Morning," I greet them back.

I set my bag on the back of the chair I got to my mom who already has a plate piles with pancakes. Yep I was right blueberry...

I give mom a huge smile she knows these are my favorite.

I sit next to Zach and start eating. I can see him and dad are discussing something but I don't pay much attention I know dad is going to be starting work today at Mr Blackwood place.

I feel my phone vibrate I look at seeing Kelly messaged saying she here.

Getting up I put my plate in the sink grabbing my bag.

I knock on the table to get their attention.

"Kelly's here I'm leaving, See you guys tonight," I sign to them.

Dad and mom wave to me while Zach stands up.

"I'll walk you out," He signs

I hold my hand up.

"It's okay finish your breakfast," I tell him.

He shakes his head no he reaches out grabbing my bag from my shoulder.

"It's okay come on you don't want to be late,"

I just shrug walking out in front of him he steps pass me to open the door letting me walk out I see a black Jeep Cherokee sitting in the driveway. Kelly rolls her window down sticking her hand out waving. I give a wave back walking down Zach is so tense walking next to me he opens the door letting me get in.

He hands me my bag.

"See you later if you have any problems text me I'll leave class," He signs to me.

I just scrunch my forehead he was being really weird.

"Okay," I tell him.

Closing the door I see him give Kelly a look but don't say anything she gives a small wave to him.

Looking at me I see her start to mouth.

"You ready?"

Putting the car in reverse she backed out of the driveway we pulled away the whole time Zach was outside watching us.

Wonder what his deal is he's always been protective over me but he seemed to be over doing the last few days.

The ride to school was quiet I just looked out the window Kelly couldn't exactly sign to me while driving and she needed to look at the road so mouthing words to me so I could see her lips was out as well.

She finally turned and I could see the school building ahead. As we pulled into the parking lot I was shocked this school was huge. I instantly felt super nervous I just know I'm gonna get lost.

Kelly parked and I see Oscar Nick and Brad standing there waiting. We got out walking over to them.

Oscar gave a wave and started walking towards me.

"Hey Autumn Kelly didn't kill you with her driving did she?"

Sudden Oscar was smacked in the arm.

"Ow," He's rubbing his arm I look at Kelly she smirking.

"Ha serve you right!" I see her say to him

I let out a laugh at them Oscar pouts then comes over to stand next to me.

"I'm walking with Autumn at least she nice," He says to her sticking his tongue out at her.

Brad goes to Kelly wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

"Stop picking on my girl," He points his finger at Oscar.

She smacks his chest but I see her blushing.

Nick walks over standing on the other side of me he nudges my arm.

"Don't mind them they are always bickering," He says.

"It's okay I think it funny,"

"Autumn you ready?" I see Kelly sign to me.

I hold my hand up.

"One minute,"

I take my bag off my shoulder I open it and reach in the one pouch grabbing my implant. I take it out I start to put it on but I see others looking at me. I suddenly felt nervous which lead to me having trouble. Kelly noticed and she came to help me.

"Here let me," I see her mouth to me.

I handed it to her and she slide it in my ear then I felt her fingers above my ear she places the magnet to the spot above my ear.

"Thank you," I say.

"Your welcome," This time I can hear her slightly.

"Autumn," I hear Oscars next to me.

I look at him.

"Can you hear with that on?"

Shaking my head yes.

"Yes I can it's faint but I can I mostly hear myself though,"

"That's so cool,I didn't know you had that,"

"I don't wear it much people stare at me and it makes me uncomfortable," I tell him.

"Come let's go we don't want to be late," Nick's says.

Brad and Kelly walk ing front of us while Nick and Oscar are on either side so I was in the middle I felt very short compared to these two they were easily pushing six foot,

As we walked up the the front doors I could see everyone looking at me this was nothing new for me it's like this every time I start at a new school always the new girl. Once we walked into he building I felt Oscar tap my arm.
