Reins

"This is why I wanted to have her do her schoolwork here!" I yelled at everyone in the room. They all flinched taking a step back Autumn's mom lets out a small gasp while Matt holds her Zach had heard about what happened he left his hospital room and is waiting Spinning I punched the wall near me letting out a loud growl.

with his parents.

Keaton steps closer.

"Alpha, please you need to be calm it's not their fault,"

Placing my palm on the wall I hear what he is saying but my wolf is on edge with how close that was she could have been taken.

"Alpha I'm sorry I shouldn't have let her go alone," Oscar says.

Dropping my hands I turn to face him he has his head down hands behind his back. I can feel he's holding himself accountable for this but he did get to her in time.

Taking a breath I pinch the bridge of my nose closing my eyes I need to calm down.

"I know Oscar, I'm not blaming you or anyone you did well at reaching her in time, and you caught the guy,"

I tell him patting his shoulder I see him relax just a bit.

"Now tell me how did that wolf get into the school?"

"I contacted the principal he sent me the video footage from what I see he came in by the gym there's no footage of him in the school but you can see him coming out the same door and heading to the parking lot," Keaton tells me. "Where is he from?"

Keaton doesn't say anything I see him swallow as he shifts from foot to foot.

"Keaton!" I growl at him.

"He is a scout for Alpha Darrell,"

He says as he takes a few steps back from me.

I feel my body heat up my wolf is pushing to come forward. When I let out a hard low growl my body begins to shake.

"Alpha," Keaton says holding his hands up. "Calm down, please we have him he's locked up he can't get to her now, she is safe here with you,"

I hear him but I can't focus just the thought of that Alpha sending someone to take her and they were almost successful.

"How dare him how dare he try and take what's mine, he is a fool for thinking he can just have my mate, I will kill him!"

My wolf is so close to the surface I know my eyes are glowing blue my voice is low and harsh.

Suddenly I get a whiff of my mate. I start looking around but she was not there feeling angry cause she was nowhere in sight but her smell is faint.

I snap my head back front there I see her mom holding what looks like a hoodie she slowly hands it to me taking it from her I bring it close to my nose taking a deep breath.

Her scent fills my nose I can feel myself calming my wolf starts to retreat back.

When I feel all the tension left me I look back up.

"Thanks," I say to her mom she just smiles at me.

"Alpha," I hear someone call me I turn to face the voice it was the doctor.

I spin giving him my full attention.

"Is she alright? Can I see her ?"

I start popping off questions to him.

He holds his hands up.

"Slow down Alpha, please. She is going to be fine she has a concussion along with a busted lip and her cheek will most likely be black and blue, but other than that she will be just fine,"

"Is she awake?" It was her mom who asked she was looking around me at the doctor.

"No not yet but she should be waking up soon, she will need rest it will take a few days for her concussion to go away, so no strenuous activities for about a week," "Can I see her?"

He looked at me and then at everyone else standing there.

"You Alpha yes along with her family but everyone else will have to wait till tomorrow,"

He steps back to open the door he pushed it open holding it so we could go in. I look to see her laying on the bed the nurses were finishing hooking her IV up and pushing a button on the machine.

I got straight to her side grabbing her hand feeling the spark spread through my whole palm.

The nurse steps away as her parents and Zach come to the other side.

"Oh my baby," I hear her mom say reaching forward she brushes her fingers over her forehead.

She starts to cry as Matt comes to wrap an arm around her shoulder giving her support.

"Let's go, my love, she needs rest," Matt says to her as he kisses her temple.

I can see the pain on Matt's face as he tries to comfort his mate.

He looms at me giving me a nod. "Alpha,"

He turns with his mate in his arms walking her out.

I look at Zach who is standing at the foot of her bed he hasn't said much I know he's still healing from the fight with Roberts, but he has a look I know he's planning something in that head. He cares a lot for his sister as she does for him and with the loss of his other sibling he's very protective of her. I saw that the first day we met how he shield her from me knowing I could easily take him down.

"Zach," I call his name he takes his eyes off her to look at me and I see revenge in them.

"Don't you go thinking of stupid things boy," I growl at him but he doesn't even flinch he just looks back down at his sister.

"That man needs to die," He finally spoke his voice deep and hard.

"He tried to take her, he's been hunting us for as long as I can remember and it needs to stop,"

"Zach look at me!"

He moves his eyes to me but still has that same look.

"He will get what is coming to him, but you are not to do anything until I say so,"

I use my Alpha command on him and he lowers his eyes and now his head.

"Yes Alpha,"

"Good, Now get back to your room and rest you still need to rest when you're all healed come see me we will make a plan,"

"Yes Alpha," He says giving his sister one more look he spins on his heel walking out of the room.

I reach over sliding the chair next to the bed I sit down keeping her hand in mine I place soft kisses on her knuckles. "He won't get to you again,"
