Then I realized one thing...

"Where are my candles?"

"Uh..." He put the cake down, scratching the back of his head. He was probably looking for some sort of excuse, and that did not help to improve my mood in the least! "I forgot," he said defeated, his shoulders sagging along.

My nose flared and I nodded stiffly, snatching up the cake and walking out of the room in a huff. "You can forget about eating this cake, I am eating all of it!" I snapped grumpily. "Whatever makes you happy," I heard him say under his breath, as I slamped the door shut.

I went down to the kitchen, got a fork and plate and went to sit. I gobbled up all that cake, not leaving even a crumb for him. I relaxed back against the sofa, lifting my sore and a bit swollen legs unto a stool to straighten the sore muscles. I did that regularly.

Hey pregnant woman," I used the pack's link to connect with Lily. Where are you at?!"

She was now six months pregnant, just a month older than mine and we had remained the best of friends and also partners in doing whatever annoying things that very pregnant ladies engaged in these days...

What with her being so excited about my birthday and all, but it was almost noon and she had not check in to wish me or even contacted me back through the link. My message remained unanswered and after about an hour of sitting on the couch, lazing around and doing nothing at all, I fell asleep for the second time in the day.

"Honey?"

The voice was clearer this time and I slapped his hand away, when he came to caress my arm. Why couldn't a lady just have some little minutes of rest, without anyone bothering her?

"Wake up Chloe, it is already evening," he whispered softly in my ear. That was when I opened my eyes to see his staring down at me. I had fell asleep while sitting down, when had he come and lain me down? I shifted a little and then I noticed that he had put my head on his thighs and I wondered for how long I had been sleeping exactly. "You have not had a shower since morning, you need one."

I grumbled, stretching a little. We have had this particular argument over a million times already. It was difficult enough to even do anything these days, talk more of stressing myself to have a shower. He would always bother me to have one and then, we will have an argument to which will lead to him bathing me.

"I do not want to, go away," I said, turning over so I could lay on my side with my head still on his thighs. He kept disturbing me and I grew angry, glaring up at him with sleepy eyes. "Why do you like to trouble me? Is it you who has not had a shower since morning?"

"It is my darling wife, the mother to my unborn child," he replied calmly, a little smile plastered on his lips.

I felt weak, my anger diminishing almost immediately. How did the do it again? How was it that he coped so well with my mood swings and not once did he ever snap back or raise his voice at me? "Come here you," I pulled his face down to mine, joining our lips together. "How do you ever manage to put through with my foul mood?"

He chuckled against my lips. "It is because I love you so much," he muttered, pressing deeper into the kiss as I requested for more. My hand snuck into his open shirt and I caressed demandingly, my regular than usual horny mood arising. He laughed this time, when he removed his lips from mine and I huffed. "Will you slow down, you naughty wolf?"

I opened my mouth to give him a death threat, when he lifted my head off his lap and got up. But then; he bent and picked me up in his arms bridal style. "What are you doing?"

"I am taking my wife upstairs, give her a shower and then show her how much I love her."

The way he replied smoothly, did some crazy things to my senses and I sucked in a breath, my eyes not leaving his for something as useless as a blink. I wrapped my arms around his neck firmly, as he started to move up the stairs.

"I love you," he muttered, hoody eyes staring down at me like I were some kind of priceless jewel. He had no idea how much he made my insides clenched, whenever he looked at me the way he did. He pushed the door to our bedroom and we got in, then he placed me down on the mattress and got down on his knees in front of me. "And you too," he placed a kiss on my stomach. "I love you too..."

I smiled down at his deep show of love. He had already fallen so much on love with our child, even when it was yet to be born. If it were to be a girl; I just know that she would be her daddy's little girl and if it were to be a boy; he would be his daddy's best friend.

He excused himself and went away to the bathroom. I watched his tight buttocks that were in a tight pair of jeans which were unzipped, dropping and exposing the waistband of his boxers. It gave him a sexy look and I salivated, my tongue darting out to lick my lower lip as I anticipated for what was to come by the time I was done getting a shower.

I fell on my back, my eyes staring up at the white ceiling above me. I rolled my eyes all over the ceiling covering the whole room, counting the demarcations on it. My eyes started to droop and I don't know when I fell asleep or for how long I actually fell asleep, but I awake when my body was released into the warm water. My eyes fluttered open, just as a naked Marcus slid in the tub and pulled my back to his chest.

I sighed, loving the feel of his hands as they caressed my sensitive breasts. They had swollen up, my nipples larger than how they used to be. "Have you heard from Lily today?" I asked, trying to start a conversation to keep me from falling asleep.

He stiffened, remaining silent for too long than I would have liked...
