Chloe's POV: Lily! Lily?!

The little rainbow coloured bird came out from under the bed and stared me in the face. I giggled, loving how adorable she looked as a bird. Maybe next time, I'll try shifting her into flowers and see if that worked.

She flapped her wings, spinning around in circles. She was daring enough to lift herself up in the air and when she tried to fly, she ended up landing on the ground with a thud.

I placed a palm over my lips as I giggled into it. Lily was a vibe anytime, she was the only person who could make you feel happiest at your saddest moments. Young lady, shift me back this instant!

I did, and there where the multi coloured bird was standing, stood a grinning Lily. She jumped on the bed, coming to sit beside me. That was so much fun!

I nodded, agreeing with her.

So... what now that Marcus is back?

I shrugged. "You would have to leave now I guess, we can't risk him seeing you.

She nodded. She took my hands in hers, giving me a serious look. Just think about this carefully before you decide anything. Did you hear how he sounded? That's a man who is broken, probably because he has no choice but to put you through this.

I didn't reply, just kept staring at her. She got up, spreading her arms. I should leave now that he's gone, I will gather whatever information I can, then get back to you.

I nodded, using my magic once more to change her into a mouse. This mouse was err... quite skinny, maybe because Lily was made up of bones, I guess. Once you reach a safe distance, I'll transform you...

She scurried out of the room, forcing herself through a little crack in the door. I held my breath, hoping that she'd get out of here before Marcus sensed anything. I felt her leave the house, straining my ears to follow the movement of her little feet. She was awfully slow and at some point, I regretted not changing her into something faster.

Are you there?!

I finally heard her voice in my head. I transformed her and she said her thanks, promising to get back to me as soon as she got any information.

I sighed, finally feeling a lot better. It felt good having some hope, at least if Lily was right, it seemed Marcus had something up his sleeves and all we had to do, was figure out what that was.

My eyes flickered back to the large plate of food in front of me and I couldn't help myself, when I reached out for a piece of meat. I didn't bother chewing properly. I just swallowed, immediately picking up another piece. Then another.

And another.

Until the whole plate was empty!

So much for not wanting to eat, huh?

I chuckled at my own silliness, how could I have rejected food? I even turned away when Marcus offered me some.

My wolf purred, making me feel all mushy on the inside. My thoughts drifted back to some minutes ago when he'd come in here. I had just shifted Lily and the bird was fast enough to hop under the bed. He had tried to make a conversation with me, but I refused to let him, my mind in a panic as I prayed he wouldn't sense Lily.

Fortunately, he left without sniffing her out. Just as you might have already guessed, yes, I still tried to read his thoughts but the man never let his guard down!

Damn!

My eyes began fluttering shut and no matter how I tried to keep them open, they kept doing what they wanted. I couldn't fight it any longer and just gave in to the dizziness, my consciousness getting lost into the darkness.

I suddenly found myself in the woods, lying on my back and staring up at the sky. I heard a noise coming form the water before me and I quickly sat up, staring into the water.

The water started to ripple, making large ways that held them away, making a tunnel in the middle of the river. Then, a man stepped out of the tunnel and started towards me. Only, he wasn't walking, he seemed to be floating on the surface of the way.

I sat there stunned, too shaken up in fear and amazement to even run. A voice kept screaming in my head for me to run, run as fast as I could and never look back, but I couldn't. My whole being was numb!

The man finally got to where I sat and he halted right in front of me. He stretched out one long arm which I took, and he forcefully pulled me up to my feet. "It is you," he said in a deep voice that shook me to the core.

I could see his features better now and he reminded me of someone I had seen before, but no matter how hard I tried to remember, I just couldn't remember meeting him. His emerald green eyes which seemed to be reflecting mine, pierced me with a force that I had no control of.

"Who are you?" I finally managed to ask.

He cocked his head to the side, sizing me up in an uncomfortable manner."I am family," he replied.

That left me in confusion. "Family?" I asked. "I do not have any family aside my parents and they are both dead."

He hit his tongue against his teeth. "That is such a pity," he said, but I saw nothing close to pity in his cold eyes. Just coldness and... more coldness. "I have come to take you home with me, your groom awaits your return," he stretched forth a hand and I stumbled backwards, shaking my head in denial.

"Groom?" I asked in disbelief. When he didn't respond, I proceeded. "I don't have any groom besides Marcus, he is my mate and I won't be leaving him for another."

A humourless chuckle left his mouth as he walked slowly towards me. I took two frightened steps backwards with every step he took forward but it seemed like he was rather catching up to me.

"You remind me so much of your mother when she was your age," he paused, his eyes hardening as they turned blood red. He hissed wickedly, his sharp fangs protruding from their roots. "But this time, I won't let you go against me. I will murder your human best friend and the entire pack including that stupid mate of yours if I have to!"

That made me scared and I began to tremble as he got closer. A terrified scream left my lips as he made a move to grab me but then, his hand never came. Suddenly, he vanished right in front of me and peed my pants.

I crawled away, getting to my feet. My legs threatened to give away under me, as I struggled to put them to good use and run. I started picking up speed, running towards the familiar route that led me back home. I turned around to see if the strange man was following me and suddenly, I hit against something hard and I flung back with force, my back hitting hard against a tree. I groaned in pain, raising my head to see what into. On second thoughts, who I had walked into. Right in front of me stood the same man with monstrous eyes and in his hand, was a little knife.

He stalked towards me, hissing dangerously. "Do you think you can run from me?" he cackled, throwing his head backwards. His cape lowered, exposing the little familiar birth mark on the side of his neck.

My eyes widened in realization and I gasped loudly. That seemed to have gotten his attention and his eyes snapped back to my wide, horrified ones.

"Tell that mate of yours, that it's a shame; he couldn't hide you forever. He could only try..." he trailed off, the mockery evident in his voice. "Now, look who I found!"

He roughly grabbed unto my hair, pulling me along as my body swept the forest floor. "No, please don't take me away. No!" I screamed, trashing around.

I kept screaming for Marcus, calling out for him to help me but he never came and soon, the darkness fell over me and I got lost in it, still struggling to break free from my captor.

Far away in the dark, I thought I could hear Marcus's voice, yelling out for me. I kept trashing, struggling to break free and run to him, but my captor still had a tight grip on me.

Using as much energy as I could muster, I fought back with all my might and gradually, his hold on me started to loosen. I got to my feet and ran, running towards the direction I heard Marcus's voice calling out to me. I ran and ran, not knowing exactly how long I'd been running but it didn't seem so dark any more and Marcus's voice seemed nearer now.

I saw a blinding light and on the other side stood Marcus, with his arms stretched out to me, asking me to come back to him. I smiled at him, walking towards him and as I got closer, I began retaining my consciousness. "Baby..." Marcus said in a panicked voice. "Please you're scaring me, stop what you're doing!"

My eyes suddenly flipped open and I shot up in bed, looking around me frantically as if the strange man was in here to get me. Someone touched my arm and I flinched, moving away from them.

"Baby, I need you to calm down. It's just me okay? Take a deep breath and calm down!"

I gradually looked towards him.

Marcus was kneeling by the side of my bed, his eyes red and scared, with tear stains smeared all over his cheeks. I took my eyes away from him and I looked around, realizing that I was still in my room, on my bed. Only, I was no longer in handcuffs. I looked down at my burnt wrists then back up at Marcus.

"You were trashing so much in your sleep and hurting yourself, I had to take them off."

I nodded and we remained in silence again.

"What was that?! You scared the living hell out of me!"

I remained silent.

I knew Marcus was trying to read me, with the way he was quietly scrutinizing me. So, I tried not to think about the dream I had, not wanting him to know just yet.

It was the same situation that had gotten my ass locked up and isolated in a room, I wanted to be careful in whatever I told him. Who knows? Maybe this time around; he would dig a hole in the ground and hide me there.

He sighed in resignation, probably figuring out that I had no intentions to let him into to my thoughts anytime soon. "Baby," he called, getting up to sit beside me. He stroked my hair gently, putting some behind my ear. He then took my chin in his fingers, turning me to face him. "Do you wanna talk about it?" he asked.

Did I want to talk about it?

No.

Plus: I remembered that I was supposed to be mad at him for locking me up. So pulling away from his touch, I slapped his hand away. "Go away, I don't want to see your face," I hissed.

His eyes softened, a flicker of hurt present on them. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it back. He turned around and began to walk away, but stopped in his track. "Don't think about leaving this room, or I wouldn't hesitate but put those handcuffs back on," he said in a cold voice.

That's so much for a romantic mate right? Wasn't I the luckiest she-wolf in the wolf?

"Dick!" I yelled, grabbing the empty plate beside me and flung it, aiming for his back. The arse of a man missed it, the plate rather hit against the now closed door and shattered to pieces.

I listened for any sounds from him. His bedroom door flung open, he rustled around for a bit the his door slammed shut. He matched towards mine and just when I thought he'd be coming in, I heard the locks on my door being turned.

I had to roll my eyes at his actions. How was I even supposed to run away with all this silver around me? Even if he left the door wide open, I wouldn't be able to step an inch.

I heard him descend the stairs quickly and a few seconds later, the front door was slammed shut. Wherever was he going to this late at night?

I cursed him under my breath, deciding to attend to that later. Now, back to that dream...
