I swallowed, not in the least doubting him. I already had the 'pre-knowledge' of how vampires were. It had been passed down from generation to generation, about why the werewolves and vampires could not stand each other, despite the fact that our ancestors had once been the best of friends. "And if a werewolf were to go in there?"

Lima looked taken aback by my question.

"Well, you will be eaten alive and all the blood in your body will be sucked dry. So if you are having any funny ideas, I will advise that you don't, okay?"

I glared daggers at him.

"You are going to thank me later..." he said, ignoring my glare (if he had even noticed it in the first place). His eyes kept searching my face like he was looking for something that I really had no idea about. He was the least of my problems and despite how his scrutiny irritated me, I could not even ask him to stop looking at me like I were some lab object. "Alpha Marcus?" "Yes?"

"Where is Luna Chloe?"

I eyed him briefly then took my eyes away. I knew he could see the fear in my eyes, also feel the tension radiating off of me. "None of your business!"

He slumped back against his seat, shaking his head at me as his mouth fell open on shock. I could see the raw fear in his eyes for Chloe. He was beginning to understand what was going on and I wondered if that was a good thing. Chloe had pleaded that no one was to know of her whereabouts.

"What?" I snapped. "Do you not have anywhere else to be than sit here and stare at me all day? Be on your way if you are done here!"

He ignored my harsh tone.

I had dropped messages for Chloe for the past five to ten minutes, and it worried me that she was not responding. I even tried to see if I could trace her with her thoughts like I had done in the past, but it was like she had been cut off from me completely. I tried again:

Baby? I hope you still kept to the plan? Do not go anywhere you do not seem familiar with! Don't go to Dracula's cave... do you hear me at all?! Another ten minutes and...

"Argh!" I tumbled the table over, the papers going all over the place. I panted, my chest heaving heavily with every large breath I took. She still had not reply and now, the fear was right in my face, clawing at my heart, mocking me to the point where I felt like I was about to pass out. "Why? Why aren't you responding?"

A frightened Lima moved out of my view and stood by the side, staring down at the mess I had created. His gaze flickered over to my face and back to the floor. "Um... Marcus," he hesitated, fidgeting with his fingers. "You... you are crying." The tone of his voice was suggestive.

I raised my fingers up to my cheeks, only for them to come back wet. A sniff left my nose, and surprisingly, I had not even realized that I had been crying. Whatever did I do to deserve all these? Why do this horrible things keep happening?

"Is she in anyway with Dracula?"

I looked at him, then diverted my eyes. "Go away Lima, just go."

He sighed, his patience beginning to run thin. "I do not know whatever it is that you are hiding, but if you do not tell me where the Luna is, I will run off and tell the rest of the pack that you have put her in harm's way!" "Do not be unreasonable Lima!"

"Then," he started with a cold tone. "Where is she?"

I eyed him for a while, contemplating if to tell him or not to. After a moment, I decided against it. "Look Lima, this is not as mild as it seems, this is not child's play!"

"I know alright?!" Lima was shaking now and no matter how odd it seemed, I dismissed it as cheer concern for his Luna. "Nothing has to happen to her, or never will I be able to forgive myself!"

Oh!

My head did a rewind and...

"What did you mean by you wouldn't be able to forgive yourself?"

His eyes widened in shock, like he also could not believe that he had let that slipped past his lips. "I... I....," he kept stuttering, his lips trembling and eyes darting about as they refused to meet mine. "I just feel entitled to protect her! As... as Luna of our pack! Yes, yes, our beloved Luna!"

I cocked a brow, and he used a finger to wipe off the seat that had coated his forehead. I did not believe his flimsy excuse, but that was a problem for another time. "Go check if Marcus is back, tell him to come over here. And you," I eyed him suspiciously, doubts lingering in my mind towards him for the first time. "Go get that witch friend of yours, we would need her just in case we had to head up to Dracula's cave."

He looked scared as he bowed, then hurried off like something was hot on his heels. I watched him until the door closed behind him. What exactly was he up to? Had my little wolf suddenly grown canines and was trying to bite me in the back?

I dropped back into my chair, my body suddenly feeling to heavy for me to hold it up. What was going on? I had never felt so helpless in all of my life and the way I was seeing it, help was not coming my way anytime soon. Just when I thought I was already getting things in order, here comes another puzzle!

I did not wait too long for Titus, he came through the door a few minutes later, his strides sharp and precise. He had a hard look on his face and I quickly gathered that whatever news he might be a very unpleasant one. "Alpha," he bowed. "I have some very interesting news-"

"Forget it, that can wait," I waved dismissively. "Follow Lima..."
