~Isabella~

Later in the afternoon, towards evening we got ready. I wore a short-sleeved t-shirt with a golden heart in glitter on it with a knee-length flowing skirt and white leggings. On my feet, I wore ankle socks and white converse pumps. My hair was still down and the sides were held back with a silver clip that had a butterfly on it. I was sat in the living room that had light Edwardian furnishings, a large tv, and bookstand. My sisters were still upstairs getting dressed. After about five minutes I heard the door to the stairs open and close. Willa came into the living room with a note in her hand.

“That can only be from three people,” I said to my sister who was studying it thoughtfully.

“Is it Justin or Jacob?” I asked putting my book down. Willa shook her head before speaking.

“Neither, it’s from Sister Butterworth,” she said and I got up with a frown on my forehead.

“Does she need us to fill in for the choir again?” I asked with a childish grin. She looked at me for a minute with a frown.

“No, it says we all have to meet her in the chapel as soon as possible, apparently Jacob and Justin have something to talk to us about,” she replied and walked towards the stairs. She called up to our other sisters and within five minutes they all came running downstairs.

“When do we leave?” Serena asked while she put her black hair in a messy bun. I frowned at her and shook my head.

“Jacob may not even be there Serena, and he’s getting mated soon,” I said and we all raised an eyebrow at her. She blushed and sighed.

“I know, but I just want to let him know if he’s not happy with Kate, then he can come to me” she stated and I scoffed.

“Not if the big man has anything to say about it,” I said as I picked up my jacket. I was referring to god. Not many angels and werewolves have ever fallen in love and mated. I was only stating the truth to save my sister. Willa put a hand on our slightly heartbroken sister Serena.

“You’ll replace someone else,” she comforted. Serena nodded and sighed again. The rest of my sisters came downstairs and I put my book away.

“Come, sisters, let’s go,” We the walked out of our home and towards the church. Standing outside the door was sister Butterworth who was the closest things to a mother we have.

“Thank the lord you all are safe, Jacob came to me and said that something was wrong,” she said and led us into the church.

“Justin and Jacob will be here soon they just need to get as much information as they can,” we all sat at the end of the aisle in front of the great cross on the wall below the stained glassed windows.

“There is something a mist in the town, Jacob told me while on patrol something not from this world or heaven is somewhere nearby, and I fear it is something to do with you five,” she stated looking up at the cross. All of us became pale. Not of this world, or from heaven means that whatever it was had to be either aliens or something from...below. Willa got down on her knees and drew the cross on her and started to pray, and I don’t blame her. Violetta started to hyperventilate a little while Serena tried to calm her down. I put my hands to my forehead and tried to process this.

“Do you think it involves, something demonic?” I asked sister Butterworth and she opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by a voice from the beginning of the aisle.

“We don’t think, we know,” We all saw Justin and Jacob stood side by side looking tense and on edge more than usual.

“We’ve smelt their unholy stench around the town and there close,” Justin stated and Jacob growled deeply. I sighed in relief and Serena ran to him. Serena hugged Justin fiercely and he hugged her back.

“Justin, thank the Lord your here. We’re all so afraid,” he patted her back and shushed her.

“It’s alright, Serena. Your all going to stay safe,” he replied. I shook my head and walked to Jacob.

“Thank Christ we have you two” I stated and hugged Jacob. After a few seconds, I pulled away and hugged Justin.

In case you haven’t guessed yet, Justin and Jacob are werewolves. For generations, they have protected towns all over the country in the name of God against the devil’s hand. We, well except for Serena we think of them as brothers.

“Where is Kate?” Sister Butterworth asked as they shook hands. Justin was about to speak when another voice was heard.

“I was patrolling around the house when Jacob called me” we all jerked our heads towards the door when a voice was heard and Kate came into the church. She hugged Serena and me along with Sister Butterworth.

“How close are they and where are the others?” Jacob asked before they shared a kiss. Surprisingly Serena showed no signs of a broken heart. She was too busy being held in Justin’s arms.

“They are definitely in the town...” She began but she was interrupted by Sister Butterworth who was slightly in a range.

“Impossible, God himself placed a protection spell over the town to keep out demons!” She stated but Kate shook her head.

“Somehow they’ve been weakening the spell’s power and they know the girls are here, and the land” father Butterworth went quiet and looked at Kate in shock. As did we all. And to top everything off it started thunder storming which made us all scream.

“Dorothea, Violetta, come” I beckoned them and then ran to me. I hugged them holding them tightly.

“Hush, it’s alright” I comforted my sisters as best as I could. We all knew this day would come. Monsters, who worked from the underworld, they were on earth. Why though?
