Auctioned Mates Revenge -
Chapter 92
He shrieked in agony and rolled off me. The sticky heat of his blood coated my hand. The metallic stench of it filled the air and I turned, screaming, driving my knife into whatever part of him I could reach. He choked and cried out. The scent of the dungeon filled my nose. Blood and more blood came spurting out and I remembered the sight of my blood pooled beneath me, spreading across the ground.
Two, three, four, five...
He choked and thrashed. His body wiggled and jiggled, but I kept going, counting each thrust of my dagger as I heard his voice in my memories offering me candy, taunting me, ordering me to serve him. I heard Armina screaming in pain and fear. I heard Angelia whimpering. I heard the last breath rattling out of a young girl whose face I could no longer remember.
"Stop-ack! Stop!" He yelled.
I heard my own voice screaming for him to stop and laughed. My mind was slipping away, falling into the sight of blood and the sound of my screams. I felt outside of myself. Where was Alyssa? Maybe she was the one in control now, stabbing him because I couldn't shift and tear him apart with my claws. I couldn't hear anything but my memories and the plunge of the knife into his flesh.
Twenty, twenty-one...
Blood splashed over my face and pooled beneath his body. I couldn't see him.
I felt someone come up behind me, grabbing me and I saw the face of the man who had tortured me. I turned and drove my dagger into his side, forcing him back and against a wall. His body jerked and he gripped my injured shoulder, squeezing. My arms trembled. I pulled the dagger out and drove it back in.
Thirty, thirty-one...
He swung at me, knocking me away, but I got back up and drove my dagger into his shoulder, ripping it through his collar and throat with a roar. I could hear Alyssa in my voice, losing our minds as blood flew into the air. My stabs turned to slashes. Fifty, Fifty-one...
How much more? Someone else came. Another coward from that dungeon, another man under Dan's control. Another person who deserved to die. I leaped at him, tackling him to the ground and driving the dagger into his face as he screamed. He fell still beneath me as a gurgling sound drew my attention.
Dan turned onto his back, but before he could move any further I was on him.
Sixty, sixty-one...
Mordecai's POV
Matt slammed on the brakes, skidding us towards the house as I fired on every man and woman I couldn't recognize. There weren't many and it was easy since they were running away from the house. Among them, I saw Xavier and shot him in the leg as the guards shot out the tired of the jeeps.
The other Warhammer Guard cars were coming right behind us and circling the area.
I heard gunshots inside as we got out of the car and hurried inside. A Warhammer guard was struggling on the ground with a man, choking him out as blood slipped down his face.
Matt rushed past them, I followed, shooting any opposition in the way.
"Glenda!" He called. "Glenda!"
I heard a feral growl and a repetitive, wet sound that reminded me a bit of the sound of a meat mallet. The scent of blood grew thick and heavy as we got down the hall. The top half of the door was broken in.
On one side of the room was a group of cowering girls, each of them looking like they could do with several meals and anxiety meds. They were all staring in shock at the figure leaning over the large almost unrecognizable body of Dennis Luftmensch. His chest had been cut and flayed open. The blood-soaked figure leaning over him, stabbing him over and over again stopped and turned.
Glenda's eyes were full of wolf light, but she wasn't conscious. Her shoulder was a bloody mess and her face was covered with bruises.
Matt climbed through the opening in the door and stood nearby.
"Glenda," he said, his voice soft and pleading. "Glenda, can you hear me?"
Her hands twitched and my heart clenched. I thought of Sharon and replaceing her one evening so lost and furious, covered in blood and furious. She'd been horrified at what she'd done, but there was nothing to be done. While Sharon had never been subjected to the kinds of things Glenda had been, I recognized the signs. Glenda had snapped.
Matt would never forgive me for everything that has happened to her and I couldn't blame him. He might never understand everything that's been happening either, but there was nothing I could do about that. The plan was set in motion already. Ben was forcing my hand and making a bigger enemy of Matt by the day. All I could do now was make sure he got out of all of this alive.
I turned away as I heard her starting to whimper and Matt speaking to her in soft tones. She would be fine with a bit of time. I left them alone with the other girls that had been recovered from the basement and headed back outside to where the Warhammer Guard was wrestling Xavier onto his knees as he howled in agony.
"Shame," I said, "I bet you're wishing I just shot you in the head."
"Y-You can't do this!"
I grinned and crouched down, tilting my head and baring my teeth, "I can't?"
He trembled, "Th-The Inter-Pack-"
"Authorities would love to know why Dennis Luftmensch is in Skyfall with a force of a hundred strong, armed to the teeth... and currently a bloody mess on the floor of a parlor, I'm sure."
His eyes widened.
"They'd also love to know why Xavier Fireash is here fleeing out of a house with a bunch of armed men..."
"A-Alpha Asra..."
"Shame I didn't kill you. There's someone who deserves the chance to kill you himself."
"Wh-What?"
"Patch him up and detain him. Call Felix and tell him I've caught him a present."
I pulled out a cigarette and lit it before calling Uriel and walking away from where Warhammer Guard was dragging people into custody for medical attention or detainment. "I'm surprised you're calling me so late. I was worried."
"Dennis is dead. Matt's precious little love gutted him like a fish."
"... he deserved a much more painful death."
"I doubt there was one to be had. Xavier's in custody. Come to Midnight if you want a chance at him before he's dead."
"I'll be there within the week." Uriel said, "What do you think Ben's next move will be?"
He chuckled, "Something stupid. I'm going to keep this under wraps for a little while. A week or so and get the Authorities involved."
"It's unlike you to do things above the table."
"Well, it serves its purpose sometimes... The thought of him replaceing out over the network is really doing something for me."
Uriel laughed, "Well, pray you get some relief for that problem soon. May she be blonde, beautiful with stamina."
I laughed, "Thanks for your blessings. About Walter."
"What about him?"
"He's going to be Alpha of Green Bow soon. Just thought I should give you a heads up."
"I'll have to call and congratulate him."
"Do that. If I replace anything in Fireashe or Luftmensch, I'll keep you informed."
"... thank you, Mordecai."
"We're in this together, Uri'. Don't go getting soft on me."
She snorted, "You're the soft one."
I turned back as Matt walked Glenda out of the house and into the care. She stared numbly ahead, carrying a frail-looking little girl in her arms. The rest of the girls trailed after her "Maybe, but not too soft yet. I'll have a room ready for you when you arrive."
"Thank you."
She hung up and I tucked my phone in my pocket, blowing smoke into the air as Matt got Glenda and the others into the caravan of jeeps.
I walked over to him as he closed the door behind them.
"Uriel is coming to Midnight to talk to Xavier. I told Warhammer Guard to send a message to Felix as well."
Matt looked at me, "And Dennis?"
"The Authorities will replace out... after we've gotten what we needed out of Xavier."
Matt grinned, his eyes flickered with a feral red light that warmed my heart and shook me.
"If only I could see his face."
I nodded and climbed into the car, "Let's head back."
