YUNIFER'S

POV

After we had our breakfast, Drake, Havoc, Kale and I, went to the B City, leaving Ishid and Lawrence in the mansion to take care of the affairs regarding the pack matters plus they are also responsible for protecting the mansion and so are the packs who rely on them and was awaiting for their commands. Plus, the packs can't rule without its commander or its authority which is the Alpha King but since the Alpha King needed to go to the B city to deal with the matters regarding the wolves, only Ishid and Lawrence were left to rule the packs since they were also recognized as their commander plus they were also the siblings of their Alpha King which is easier for the packs to recognize them as their Alphas.

Although Ishid and Lawrence were reluctant to leave me and wanted to go with us since they have matters to take responsibility for, they can't let it off the hook. After all, it would be more troublesome if those witches would attack the mansions and the pack while they were all away.

Only then, Drake and I can rest assured that they would stay in the mansion to take care of the affairs.

After we arrived at B city, we went straight to the police office to replace out more about those people who suddenly disappeared and until now, they still haven't gotten back. Even their families were nervous and were protesting why the police officer's actions were too slow.

When we stepped on our feet inside the police office, we were stopped by an officer.

"Who are you? You can't freely enter the office without the permission of the head office." One of the officers said while looking at us politely yet he was overbearing.

It wasn't until Havoc was the one who answered, "I wanted to meet your head office. Just tell him that Havoc was here and also the one with whom he made an appointment also here."

He was probably referring to Drake whom he talked about someone whom the head office had made an appointment with.

At first, the officer was hesitant and the way he looked at us was filled with doubt but in the end, he doesn't have a choice but to fulfill our requests.

"Okay, I will call the head office to inform your presence. Please wait for a moment." He politely said before he dialed the number of the head office.

While waiting, we sat on the chairs while looking at the officer who was nervously talking to the head office and it wasn't until he revealed shock and disbelief that he end the call.

Then he looked at us with much more respect and the way he spoke to us was much more polite as if he was facing a high-rank official or something.

"Please wait for a few minutes. The head office will be here to meet you." The officer politely said and we just nodded our heads to indicate that we understood.

It wasn't until we heard a few howls and cries from the outside, making me frown, and couldn't help but look at the officer who was sweating profusely and didn't know what to do with the people outside who were protesting them. "What happened to those people outside?" I couldn't help but pretend to ask the officer, trying to squeeze out some information from his mouth.

Now that the way he viewed us was different and treated us with respect, how could he not answer my question?

"W-Well, actually I shouldn't have to say these matters to anyone but since you were an important guest to the head office so I guess it should be okay to tell you about this..." He let out a sigh and continued speaking, "to tell you honestly, the reason why they were protesting outside was because of the disappearance of their family members, and until now, we still weren't able to replace them. Even though we were investigating this case very carefully, we still weren't able to trace the disappearance of them that's why we can't provide any information or even assurance towards the family members because we also don't know if we can replace them again. In truth, we have guesses that they were already dead or something had bad happened to them but if there was no evidence, we can't stop ourselves from investigating the case."

Although I already know that it was probably because of the disappearance of their family, I still couldn't help but feel shocked and contemplate this matter, especially that the protest, the howls, and their cries that were filled with pain and longing for their loved ones who got disappeared without leaving any traces as if they didn't exist.

"My child... My child... help me replace my child! Bring me back my child! He had been lost for two days and yet until now, there was no news!"

"My father... please help me replace my father!"

"My daughter was also lost! I don't know what happened to her or who was the one who kidnapped her! Police officer, please help us! Please help me replace my daughter!"

I could hear the mournful voices that were begging for mercy and pleading with the officer to help them with their problem.

However, what could this officer name Samuel do? He also doesn't know what to do either since he was only in charge of the documents and papers related to the crimes.

It wasn't until someone arrived and greeted Drake and Havoc with politeness.

"A-Alpha King, and Alpha Havoc, thank you for sparing your time to help us." It was a bulky police officer who was bald and had his head lowered in front of the two Alphas-no, it should be three since I am an Alpha too.

When he tried to raise his head and looked at the people who were beside the Alpha King and Alpha Havoc, his eyes slightly trembled upon meeting my gaze.

"A-A f-female Alpha?" His eyes widened and his jaw dropped upon seeing me. It was as if this was the first time he had ever seen a female alpha.

I nodded my head at him in return for his question.

However, Drake's brows furrowed upon seeing the changes in the officer's face. "Is this your first time meeting a female Alpha?"

The head officer named Hertz nodded his head shyly and scratched the back of his head. "Well, female Alphas are rare and it's my first time meeting them too."

Havoc clapped his hands to gain their attention. "Okay, let's stop talking about that and focus on solving the disappearance of those humans who were living in City B."

After Havoc said that, I also nodded my head in agreement. After all, knowing that I'm an Alpha wasn't as important as helping those families who were outside, mourning and crying about the disappearance of their loved ones. While Drake was sitting on the chair while facing Hertz who was starting to give a brief explanation about what had happened in this city.

"On Tuesday fourth of the first week, three of the family had reported that one of their family members didn't come back to their house despite that usually, they would do. They also reported that maybe they were kidnapped. On Wednesday, someone reported ten of the people who disappeared and also reported that they were kidnapped. Even until now, there were already seventeen new cases about the disappearance of people in City B. Now, even we, who were in charge of replaceing out the reason why they disappeared without leaving any traces. We were helpless in this case, especially since we let the families of the victims down and we can't even provide them assurance that their loved ones were still alive or were unharmed. Now, we could only ask the Alpha King and the Alphas, to provide strength and help us with this case." Hertz calmly yet seriously said while facing the Alphas in front of him.

He also looked at me, and Kale who was next to Havoc, listening to the conversation very carefully as if he was also doing his best to provide his opinion about this matter that could help the officers and the family of the victims. However, how come this police officer knows about Alphas and even knew the Alpha King? Isn't he a human?

I turned to look at Drake with a curious expression plastered on my face as I asked him in a low tone. "How come he knew about you, the Alpha King and he seemed to be knowledgeable about the Alphas too? Is he a hybrid?"

Hearing my question, Drake turned his head and looked at me as his hand reached out to pat my head as he shook his head. "He's not a hybrid. He's a human. The reason why he knows about werewolves was that his grandfather back then was a wolf hunter." "Then..."

Hertz, who happened to hear our conversation, immediately shook his head and explained his side. "No, no, I'm not like my grandpa. I don't hunt wolves now and besides, I'm a police officer. I must protect people's lives regardless of their race. It doesn't matter if they are wolves, humans, or not, but as long as they live in City B, it's my responsibility to ensure their safety."

Listening to his explanation, I nodded my head to express my understanding then I couldn't help but ask him. "Do you believe in witches too?"

Hertz had a helpless expression plastered on his face as he answered, "I have to. I didn't believe in those at first since I thought they were myths but after the Alpha King told me that it was the witches who were behind the scenes, I immediately believe it." "You're not doubting the Alpha King's words?" I asked while looking at him with curiosity.

Hertz chuckled and shook his head. "There's no reason for the Alpha King to lie with this matter."

Havoc, who was also listening to the conversation, couldn't help but in. "Since you said that you couldn't replace any traces left by those people who had disappeared had been kidnapped by witches, can we see the documents and the reports about the lists of those people who had disappeared?"

After Havoc said those words, Hertz immediately stood up and went to his office to get the documents and present them right in front of us.
