Chapter 152:.

Even before Shane could take a step out of the door, several men burst toward him from all directions and pushed him to the ground.

No sooner had they run towards him than Felix leaned over and grabbed him by the hair, forcing him to look up.

“Have you heard that what goes around comes around? Payback is bullshit. It’s time for you to pay the price for what you’ve done.” I was shocked.

Judging by Felix’s tone, I understood that everyone was here to get Shane.

I realized that the real purpose of the trip was to catch with Shane.

A few men tied Shane’s arms behind his back and dragged him away.

The people of Goldelta were much calmer than the people of Sousen. The commotion did not frighten them in the least. They continued their conversations as if nothing had happened.

The men put Shane in a minibus and we took a business car. The two vehicles started up together and drove at an even pace.

Finally, the two vehicles stopped in front of a deserted factory in a remote location.

The men pulled Shane out of the minibus and dragged him inside the factory. Moments later, they got out and whispered a few words in Derek’s ear before driving off.

I didn’t hear what they said, but they seemed to respect Derek a lot. We all went inside the factory.

Derek, Felix and Eric went ahead, and Louise dragged me behind. “Look, Derek is doing all this just for you. Don’t go soft and let Shane go, do you understand?”

However, my blood was already boiling. The moment I had laid eyes on Shane, my anger had peaked.

“Why would I go soft on a person who has hurt me over and over again?” I asked, clenching my fists.

“That’s right.” Louise smiled, patting my shoulder.

The abandoned factory gave an eerie look. The dim yellow light hanging from the ceiling was the only source of light. The men had thrown Shane under the lamp.

He crawled backwards like a dog because his limbs were tied.

Derek approached Shane as a slow smile appeared on his face.

“Shane, you left Sousen after taking fifty million dollars from me. Looks like you had a good time here.”

I watched Derek as my jaw dropped in shock.

“What did you say, you gave him fifty million dollars?”

Derek pulled out a cigarette and lit it without answering me.

I turned to give a glance at Shane, who was lying on the floor. He averted his gaze from me, but I could see the fear in his eyes.

“Why did you post the pictures after you took the money? You’re a fucking beast.”

My voice trembled as I began to boil with rage.

Shane raised his head to say something. However, Derek smacked his head with his foot. The side of his face dipped into the dirt as he began to gasp.

Derek took a puff on his cigarette, leaned closer and stared into Shane’s frightened eyes. “I told you I’d break your legs if you dared to post the pictures.”

His calm words sounded intimidating.

Shane was trembling with fear. He tried to speak, but Derek hit him in the face with his shoe.

“But I’m in no hurry. Since you like to play with me, let’s play one game at a time.”

Derek withdrew his leg, leaving a clear shoe print on Shane’s face.

Then, he turned around, handed me a whip and smiled. “Eveline, it’s payback time. Whip until you feel better. Show no mercy.”

I looked at the whip in front of me and took it slowly.

Derek gently put his hand on my shoulder to reassure me.

His touch made my scalp tingle. I felt strength coursing through my veins.

I gripped the whip tightly and waved it in the air.

I looked at Shane and walked toward him with slow, steady steps. Shane flinched. He gave me a look and looked back at the whip with undisguised horror.

“Eveline, no! Please,” he pleaded.

“Shane, are you afraid now? Why did you do those nasty things if you’re such a coward?” I asked, smiling bitterly. “You thought I was easy to bully, but you have no idea how ruthless I can be. Everything has a limit, and you’ve crossed it.” I took a deep breath, clenched my fingers and brandished the whip at him.

Shane cried out in pain. I was pleased to see the mark imprinted on his face.

However, it was not enough to vent the rage and hatred in my heart. I let out a loud grunt and began to whip him again and again.

Shane hissed and cried out in pain, but I ignored it all.

Memories of how I had killed the baby in my womb, making it almost impossible for me to conceive and enjoy the gift of motherhood, of how I had tarnished my reputation flooded my mind. I burst into tears as I whipped it harder.

I was not sad. The tears were an outlet for my anger and hatred of him. I hit him hard and each blow seemed to intensify my anger.

Shane had stopped begging for mercy. Perhaps he realized that I would no longer show him any mercy.

Derek and Felix saw me assault Shane, but no one came over to stop me.

Maybe they thought he deserved it and that whipping him was the only way to vent my anger.
